On vacation from CT and wish we had one here but none the less always look forward to stopping at one and been to this location already 3 times this week such amazing service the first day with a waiter with such a great personality and then went again Tuesday and must say there was a manager Dave whom was I guess from HR and worst experience watching those poor employees so rude and just barking orders food took so long to get and the way I witnessed him talking to an employee I felt bad for her I would have quit on the spot terrible people work in an environment to be belittled .. Went back again today and must say better attitude happier looks on the employees faces and they remembered us and so kind friendly and welcoming food was great as always!!! Normally I have a decent experience here. Not today, we walked in and it was half full of people and the other half of the tables were dirty n just hadn't been cleaned off yet. So we figured the tables just needed be cleared give them a couple min n we stood off to the side. For the 10 min we stood there not one person acknowledged we were there. One male server stood there staring at 3 receipts the entire time. One female server looked at us numerous times then kinda just walked around while no one else even looked at us. Ordered 2 All-star Breakfast Specials waffles were sweet, warm, and yummy as always. I always get mine with a side of grits w/ cheese. Waffle house grits are the reason i am forever in love with grits to this day. Great meal for 8$ each. The lady that took my order was nice and helpful. The cooks I will say early morning dont always seem to be with it, the guy making our waffles had to try 3x to make the right waffles but i didnt mind. I will say what bothers me is I called and called and called to put my order in and nobody anwsered the phone so I went in assuming they were just busy for a friday morning? Not the case like 9 people working and i was only one in there. Maybe the phone didnt work i dont know all i know is it has before and thats why i couldnt give 4 stars. I love Waffle House and if I am ever near one - I will be there! Their biscuits and gravy is delicious! So if I love Waffle House, why the 2 stars? My boyfriend asked for decaf coffee, and I asked for regular. She said that she is brewing a new one and will get him a decaf when it's finished brewing. I got my coffee, and finished it, then just stared at her serving people coffee and not us. I asked for his decaf and she got it for him. I asked for his splenda 3 separate times before he got it! He went outside for a phone call so I had to handle this. After I got his Splenda, I had to ask for his toast, twice! And then the jelly. I seriously had to ask for everything more than once while I watched her just laugh with her coworkers and not be attentive to us. She did pay attention to the other young couple next to us a lot more, while I just sat there waiting, so at least I know she can be a good waitress. Then she tried playing it off to my boyfriend by saying, "I forgot a few things but your girlfriend set me in line." No, I did not set her inline, I just kept nagging and asking until I got some packets of splenda, coffee, jelly, and toast. So someone's breakfast. read more

I've been to many waffle houses before, and normally I love the quick fast and good food that they serve, but I have to say on this particular visit I was very disappointed. So I love Waffle House and their food. But this particular location has a specific annoying employee. A Spanish gentlemen with a designer mask on has now twice messed up my order in both price and actual food. Twice he attempted to charge me for the bigger patty burgers that I specifically do not order, the first time he only made half my order and overcharged me. The second time he split my double cheeseburgers into 2 separate burgers again in an attempt to charge me more. Idk if they are trained to try and scum the broke people like myself that go to Waffle House but this is unacceptable and absolutely annoying. Not to mention that twice he gave me attitude about the very same issue. And it was only days apart. Plus a few months back I made a pickup order and when I arrived they told me I had to pay cash or not get my food. Needles to say I didn't have any cash so I had to get dinner elsewhere. 0/10 would never recommend. read more

Good and cheap. We all (5) had the Star Combo (waffles, eggs, sausage, hasbrowns) and some OJ or coffee and between all of us each paid $8.

I didn't even get a chance to eat there because the server never came! Also the kitchen looked disgusting and I saw many health code violations. I felt like I really need to shower when I left. We left after 10 mins of no one coming to our table. Absolutely horrible service! read more

The fact that I have had prior good service/food at this Waffle House and many others in the country, is why I have given my review 2 Stars. However, this particular visit that I am reviewing honestly only deserves a half star. To begin with, I walked into this facility at around 2:30pm. It was somewhat busy and waiting for a few moments to be seated. When it became apparent that no one was going to do this, I sat myself at the counter top. My server (Bianca, I think), a quiet mousy young lady, came over to me and greeted me and told me her name and gave me a menu. I knew right away what I wanted to order and I was ready. She kept looking at me and then looking around - very preoccupied at something else that was happening. She asked if I was ready; still with a distraction. Not wanting her distraction to affect my order or my overall enjoyment, I told her that if she needed to take care of something, she can go do it since she seemed all over the place. She walked away and took care of what she needed to do. She came back to me and I ordered my beverages - coffee with cream and sugar and a large orange juice. She brought my beverages to me and then disappeared. I had to grab her to ask for a straw for the orange juice and for my creamer, which she took out that had been sitting in the pockets of her uniform. I gave a very specific order: 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns covered, smothered, and country, bacon extra crispy, double order of toast and my waffle with peanut butter. Between the time I sat down and the time I placed my order, most of the patrons that had been at the tables causing it to be busy had already been served, finished their food and left. Yet, for some reason, it was still taking forever to get the order. The girl next to me that sat down and ordered about 5 minutes after I did was getting frustrated and asked if it will be much longer because she had to leave. Bianca, who was her server as well, told her it was being prepped and shouldn't be much longer. As I'm watching Bianca call the order for the short order cook to prep the meal, she is literally standing there almost afraid to speak up and call her order. I finally get my order, mind you after the young lady next to me that sat down and ordered after I did. The hashbrowns almost come only covered and smothered before I have to stop her and tell her that it was country style as well. She needed to fix that. She serves me the Waffle, but forgets to put the peanut butter on it. The bacon was about three strips of bacon served incredibly flat and stuck together. The worst was the eggs. Since the eggs came last, I was already eating my hashbrowns and bacon. During this time, the cook, who apparently was done cooking food, decided to sit down and eat her own meal. I get to the eggs, still at this point, no one has checked on me to see if I wanted more coffee or anything else. Clearly, the eggs were messed up and there was one egg over easy sitting over two eggs that were cooked over hard. Frustrated as nothing has been served correctly after waiting so long for my meal to be prepped, I said something. The cook, probably mad that I interrupted her own meal that was probably cooked correctly, stood up and got an attitude with me and asked why I didn't say something sooner. I'm sorry, I'm trying to eat my other food that was served first so that doesn't get cold. With an attitude, she said she would make it again. I took the opportunity to tell her that the service was horrible, nothing was cooked correctly. I only had 1 cup of coffee and no refill and that the girl that ordered after me got served first. I was not happy. The cook looked at one of the other servers and started laughing. That was it, I was done. I told her that it was not funny, grabbed my keys and walked out. I don't come to restaurants to be treated so poorly. I pointed out that I am not a tourist, that I live here and frequent that location often. Unfortunately, in the tourist district the mentality of hospitality and service is that tourists won't usually be back and they do not care how they are treated. I sat there for 10 minutes this morning and wasn't even acknowledged. There was 1 server washing dishes,one taking the Togo order of 3 beautiful ladies, one eating at the bar and one cleaning the table directly behind me. Restaurant had 1 table besides mine and the togo order. Pretty sad when the ladies taking there orders togo made the comment that it didn't look like I was gonna get served. I use to love this location for the past 10 years up until tonight. I have received the most horrible experience EVER in life. We all know how Waffle House operates. They are naturally busy around the time the club lets out. However, that's why they are the best because they serve great food 24hrs. Well tonight I called Waffle House about 5x's (no biggie) to place a to go order. On the last call a young lady answered the phone and asked to place me on hold (which ended up being 5mins and then the call disconnected). I didn't bother calling back because I was close by anyways. What I scored to see was a busy restaurant. However, that wasn't the case. The restaurant was damn near empty. I'm sure they had a crowd that maybe previously left, but that's besides the point. When I walked inside there were 5 females working and one cop on site. I walked in and the first thing I said was, "I called to place a to-go order not too long ago and I was placed on hold then the call disconnected". One employee tells me that they don't answer the phone when it's busy (ok cool). That didn't apply to me because my call was answered, then placed on hold, and disconnected. So every last employee in their had an ATTITUDE (around 4:15am). Again this is expected because I know that this type of job can make you extremely bothered on a daily. What I didn't get is a specific employee's negative demeanor towards me. An employee asked the others who can take their order and NO ONE wanted to take our order. However, Janelle (employee) directly expressed to me that she wasn't going to take our order because she was off the floor since it was after 4:00am (it was later confirmed that she wasn't supposed to be off of the floor until 4:45am). I told Janelle that her attitude was unnecessary. So while someone was trying to take our order Janelle had A LOT to say about me and I asked her what was the commentary for. Then another employee bumped in and just added fuel to the fire. At this point I'm so done with their attitudes that I begin to immediately file a complaint online through corporate. I sat down and was on my phone the remainder of the time. Also looked around a couple of times to see if I could see some name tags to include in the complaint. So my boyfriend placed our order and apparently sat our money on the counter for them to take (I wasn't aware of that because I was sitting down on my phone. 5 mins goes by and a group of drunk people walk in. The girl yells "I just want you to know that I am very drunk so I'm being exremely extra tonight". And then a WH employee yelled "well we kick extra people out". So I looked up and was in disbelief then went back to my phone. 2 mins later the cop walks up to me and says "ma'am they want you to leave the premises and are refusing to serve you". I looked up confused because I wasn't drunk nor hysterical. I was sitting their quietly just filing my complaint online. So it was clear that they were scared of what I was doing. I made no fuss about it. I took my money and left. All of this could've been avoided if they would have sincerely apologized for hanging up and then just taking my order. BUT NO! Janelle just had to run her mouth. Well she ran it with the right one tonight. read more

By far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The cook came inside from a smoke break proceeded to make my waffle puts 1 glove on takes the strawberries out with the hand with the glove & use his bare hands to put the strawberries on the waffle. Not what I would expect or want from a reputable establishment so I let him know I wasn't happy at which time he have me an attitude. We left & called the manager at which time they let us know they "strongly suggest" their employees wear gloves but it's at the employees own discretion. read more

I've never walked out of a restaurant before. This was the first. We walked in, no one greeted us, we saw a booth clear up, asked if we could seat there, a waitress came by and wiped down the table and acknowledged our 17 month old daughter. So we thought we were ok, but even as we waited and other people who arrived after us got their orders taken, our patience was getting thin. Dining with a toddler can be tough, we were hoping to get at least drink orders in, but wait staff was busy doing something, not clear what though. My wife finally walked up to the counter and asked for some milk for our daughter, which we got. Then we waited some more, still no one said a word, the last straw was when our daughter dropped her sippy cup and the waitress who was supposed to be taking our order laughed and stepped around it. She thought it was funny and cute, but still didn't bother to take our order. So we packed up and left. Won't be back. Worst, must disorganized service I've ever seen. read more

I had a pancake that was pretty good, my friend had a Texas bacon, egg, and cheese melt which was mediocre, but however she discovered a hair in it. Sunday night, February 10, 2013; my mother-in-law, my fiance, and I ate at the Waffle House on Kirkman Rd. Our server, "Little Miss Muffin", was less than pleasant and completely incompentent. We received better service from a "first day" server at WingHouse down the road. We received terrible service on all parts (she didn't fill an empty cup for minutes on end, didn't mention that they were out of tomatoes until AFTER we ordered our food, the cook gave my sandwich away in a to-go order) and terrible tasting food (none of us finished our sandwiches). After dropping my mother-in-law off at home and we returned to ours, my fiance (who had a grilled chicken melt) ended up vomiting ALL NIGHT Sunday night, and ALL DAY Monday, and ALL morning Tuesday morning until he received anti-nausea medicine at the Emergency Room. My fiance has now been in the hospital for 2 nights with an infection of the stomach and intestines after food poisoning. We will never eat there again and we are reporting them to the board of health. read more
