Waffle House - Starkville I've been to more Waffle Houses than I can count across six states, and they always seem to range from awful to fantastic -- consistency isn't exactly their strong suit. That said, the Starkville Waffle House really impressed me today. Even though the place was packed, every booth and table full, and a few of the staff clearly new on the job, everyone was attentive and friendly. My double hashbrowns "all the way" were cooked perfectly, and my Mr. Pibb never ran dry thanks to the quick refills. It did take a little while to get someone to handle checkout as the line started backing up, but once they noticed, things moved smoothly again. After sitting down at a booth that needed more cleaning, we were shocked that no one came to check on us. We were completely ignored. We then moved to the other side and did place our order. Food came out at odd times for our party of 3. They brought 2 waffles out, and my came a little later. She brought my husband and daughter's food but again, not mine. We finally got her attention and mentioned me not getting my food. Cold and forgotten it must have been sitting there waiting for me. Disappointed in this Waffle House. They were very slow and we found hair in our food. My son found a hair in his burger and then after I had almost eaten all my food, I found one in my food. This is by far the WORST Waffle House I've been to. Service is slow, wait staff has been just standing around and not taking orders. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Then, I ordered a cheesesteak melt and the cooks put the sandwich on the nasty wooden bar by the grill instead of putting it on a clean plate. When I brought it to the waitress' attention, the cook slammed a plate down and cussed loud enough for me to hear from my table when all I asked was for it to be remade in a SANITARY manner.
