Meg was awesome. We came around 11 and she was very friendly and efficient. They had a great team there that night despite how busy it was. I'm always still amazed that they cal out all the orders to the cooks and get the orders right for the most part. Food came out quickly and it was a pleasant experience for Waffle House, one of the best times of all the times we've been at a Waffle House.

Yes this place is a greasy spoon bordering on unclean but the service is great and the workers try really hard. Our server was a gentleman who was very efficient going over the items that weren't on the menu, ensuring that our glasses and coffee cups were refilled promptly. I'm so glad for his suggestions because it made my experience that much more special. Within 10 minutes of a crowded restaurant we were greeted and seated. Server was prompt after going over the items on the menu my husband but with the pork chops (they were delicious) eggs and waffles. As for me I had that traditional special for $7.95 of waffles, my choice was pecan it was flat but good, additionally I chose grits, eggs and yummy country fried ham. This was served with really good raisin toast. The Waffle House lived up to the southern bonafides of serving 'real grits' as they were smooth and buttery. Will I go again maybe or maybe(?) not but, I suggest everyone give them one try!

This was a great Waffle House experience. I came in for dinner and had the All Star Special. It was great: two eggs, toast, ham, hash browns, and a waffle for $7 and change plus tip. The service was good and the help was neatly dressed and pleasant. The food was all cooked properly. If I could be assured that my experience would be this good, I would eat at Waffle House more often.

The Good: The actual BBQ meat, coleslaw, and pickle slices were very good and full of flavor. The Disappointing: Unfortunately, the bottom bun of both sandwiches was completely soaked through with liquid and totally unfit to eat. We had to throw the bottom buns away and eat the sandwiches with a knife and fork, which defeats the purpose of a sandwich. Since we ordered a bit late after the lunch crowd, our onion rings were cold, and the sweet potato fries were cold and limp. We usually order out so we don't have to cook, but I ended up having to reheat both sides in our kitchen. Once they were hot, they were actually pretty good! We didn't want to make another trip back to the restaurant to get it fixed, so we just made the best of it. Verdict: The food definitely has potential, but the takeout packaging and timing missed the mark today. If we decide to try it again, we will definitely "dine in" instead to make sure everything stays fresh.

I had previously dined at the Mt Pleasant location and was excited to try the new Nexton location,…read moreso my wife and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner while we were in town for the evening on business. The parking lot was crowded, which was a good early sign, and the building itself was modern and inviting both inside and out. Unfortunately, from there things did not go smoothly. I gave my name and number to the hostess, who quoted a 20-minute wait. After 30 minutes with no text, I checked back in, but she was heading on break and handed us off to a second hostess. That hostess mispronounced my name, took my number again, and told us there were still 12 parties ahead of us. Another 30 minutes passed, and by that point my wife and I were the only people left waiting. We ended up seating ourselves at two open seats at the outdoor bar, and when I mentioned it to staff, I was told our name and number had never actually made it into the system at all. In total we lost over an hour to what turned out to be a simple tracking failure, handled by three different hostesses along the way. The bar area had more of a sports-bar feel than a restaurant, and the couple seated beside us spent the meal loudly cursing and engaged in PDA, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience for us. To Page's credit, the food itself was genuinely very good, and the portions were generous enough that we couldn't finish our plates. I suspect the kitchen is well run and the front-of-house issues are a byproduct of the location being newer and still working out its systems. We'd happily return for the food, but I'd think twice before dealing with the same wait again.

They make their own corned beef so it's actual corned beef and not like sliced corn beef from a deli. We had fried pickles as an appetizer and they were good, just your basic fried pickles, we enjoyed them. My daughter got 6 mild buffalo wings & a prime rib sandwich. She said both were good. She said the wings were good but it's hard to mess up buffalo wings. She really enjoyed the prime rib sandwich and I took a bite of it and it was very good. The meat was tender and the roll was fresh. I had my Reuben and it was delicious!! I'm always willing to try a Reuben wherever I go. I've had theirs before and it didn't disappoint today. A lot of places don't grill the sandwich and that is sacrilegious in my book. It was melty and toasted with the right amount of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut & 1000 island dressing. Their fries are also really good, even my daughter commented on how good they were. They're crispy yet soft inside & seasoned just right. Kiera was the bartender and the server and she was great!! She was on top of everything. She made a great Moscow mule & we liked how she checked on us just the right amount of times. My daughter is a server and she said she really liked how she knew when to come check to see if we needed anything but not so much that it was annoying. We had a nice chat with her and really enjoyed her attitude. She's an asset to the pub. I enjoy coming to the pub I just don't get over to that part of Summerville very often, I live on the 61 side of Summerville. But when I want a great Reuben again I'll be making the trip across town.

I was immediately met outside by a child advocate, apparently, trying to raise money for poor children with backpacks and toys and whatnot. She was actually really nice, but probably not the best place to set up shop, and try to take advantage of people who have over consumed on their way out. Sort of surprised that the owner/management let that happen right out front their doors. So after buying a $74 backpack for a needy child, apparently, I made my way in through the double doors. There was a younger hostess and I asked her if I could sit at the bar. She was super soft-spoken and hard to understand, but I could understand her gestures when she nodded "yes". Made my way to the bar, and had a seat. All they were playing was some lame a** soccer, and I think tennis? I asked my bartender if this is what they normally play, and she told me it's a sports bar, and they always play all sports. Well, I don't watch sports, it's too woke, but in that sense if there's no contact, it's not a sport. So essentially I was watching two different versions of sissy ball. I told her, or rather asked about their viewing schedule, and I noticed horse racing on a TV across the restaurant, and she was nice enough to put it on one of the TVs behind the bar, so once again after a brief period, I was able to reacquire remasculation. Pfff "sports".. Anyways, her name was Taylor. And she's one tough chick. Super down to earth, good with banter, quick witted, and she can dish some ish out if she needs to. Everything that makes a strong bartender. While on that note, the other two bartenders that helped me in between were Nadyne and Kaitlyn. I only browsed through a few of these reviews, But I'm telling you, they are on their A game. They all function cohesively as a unit, constantly pay attention, and constantly check on their clientele. Sort of a lost art these days. The locals there are pretty cool also. But after all this is the south, what do you really expect? That's why I stay in this area! So let's get to the food. If you follow my reviews you know I'm on a no-carb kick again, so I ordered the "28 day aged Ribeye".... If you know me, and you know how and what I cook, grill and smoke, you would know that I'm on top of my game. Before I go any further I had two different bartenders ask me if I wanted A1 steak sauce or anything, and my reply was "Well, I sure as hell hope not". If you're buying a ribeye, aged or not, you shouldn't need anything extra as far as seasoning and flavor goes. Is it 28 days aged? I want to say I doubt it. Did it need more seasoning, and should I have taken the advice of two different bartenders of getting steak sauce? Probably so. But I have a solemn oath to beef, that I will not desecrate it in any type of sauce, no matter how it's seasoned. That being said, it wasn't seasoned the best. I actually glanced around the bar for salt and pepper but didn't see any, but I just ate it. For a ribeye, it wasn't super tender, so I tried cutting it long wise to make it more tender which actually helped a bit. But this is a sports bar, not a steakhouse, so what do you really expect? It wasn't horrible, but I can't wait to have a real ribeye or prime rib from an actual steakhouse. It came with mushrooms, and it was supposed to come with potatoes, but like I said, carbs. But Taylor offered me options for different sides, so I went with the Caesar salad and broccoli. I kept the menu in case I wanted to order some wings to go, and I didn't, and damn it I wish I did. Because I'm already hungry, so trust your gut and get some food to go! Place was pretty clean, nice setup, all the staff were top notch, even the bathroom was nice. I would definitely absolutely go there again the next time I'm here, but I would probably order wings instead of the steak. It did have nice grill marks though! All in all, great experience, I left satisfied, and the staff here really does make sure your experience is exactly what you want. Solid four stars for this place.
