We visited on 12/27 around 1:00pm and let me tell you, that was the BEST experience I've ever had at a Waffle House. We grew up near Waffle Houses and you typically expect the experience that accompanies a restaurant you typically visit at midnight. Our waitress, we didn't get her name but this was her second day, was excellent. Tonya, who I assume was the manager, went above and beyond. This location is popular with a steady clientele flowing in and out during our visit. The breakfast meals were Excellent! Hot, fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The building is not huge so the staff work together effectively to serve their guest and prepare for the next table to fill - all while making you feel comfortable, not rushed - at all! Good to know: you can't see this place from the highway, or even when you get off the highway. You'll need to make your first left after you get onto 340 North, but the sign telling you that is tiny and on the far right side of the big intersection. Other than being less visible than your normal Waffle House, this is what you would expect: friendly service, great coffee, great food. A nice Waffle House. There is extra parking nearby if you are pulling a camper. The service was fast and friendly. It was a little chilly inside. The bathrooms were clean. The food tasted good. They did mess up on my hash browns but they made some new ones for me right away. They do provide a military discount which is much appreciated. read more

I stayed next door at the Super 8 Motel so I walked here. It had been 5 years since I last visited a Waffle House for breakfast. It was in the Orlando, Florida Area. I remembered that visit vividly because this Waffle House was exactly the same. Cheerful wait staff. Very busy at 8AM. Fast service! Wonderful water! I don't get it, I honestly don't. Came here on a Sunday morning with a a few friends. They swear by Waffle House (when they're drunk of course). The tables were all really dirty, even after being cleaned. The seating arrangement was confusing, not sure if we were suppose to just sit down. The biggest thing though was that after we got our food, we had to wait a good 5 minutes with our waffles getting cold in front of us while our waitress tried to get clean silverware for us. She disappeared and said she had to go clean some for us. We got up to ask another waitress to grab us some when we couldn't find our waitress and that other waitress just screamed back to find our waitress, instead of just getting our silverware. Then the food we ordered came out with sausage bits when we asked them to hold the sausage bits. To end the morning, our waitress told us she would never eat at the Waffle House because the food is greasy and disgusting. We tipped well because of that comment. I like Waffle House. Like the diner feel and all that but the one in Waynesboro was terrible. Had breakfast.. Sausage was raw.. Yep.. Brown on the outside and totally raw and cold on the inside.. Back it went.. Eggs were not cooked properly as well.. Lots of that clear, slimy stuff and the whites weren't cooked.. Back it went.. I understand the restaurant was very busy but there were no less than 4 people on the grill and at least 5 servers so I don't get why things would be bad.. To the restaurant's credit they did correct the issues but, still, food should never have been served like that. I am not giving up on Waffle House.. But the ones in Charlottesville and Staunton are much, much better.!! read more

I am not usually a Waffle House fan, but we were on vacation and in an unfamiliar area. I let yelp guide me, I am so glad I did . The wait staff was friendly and attentive. My grits were seasoned and buttered, which usually doesn't happen now days. The eggs were cooked to order and my Pecan Waffle was amazing. My husband enjoyed his eggs and hash browns. I don't care what anyone else says, "Awful Waffle" is unaccurate. This Waffle House is amazing. The staff are always so nice and friendly. Its not fast-food per say, but it is quick order and sooooo delicious. They've also got a jukebox. My family and I call it our "Waffle House Religion", I call it "Church" because we always go on a Sunday, but we always got to make sure we get there before even 11 AM because that's when actual church rush starts and it can get packed quick. They have a good selection of food even if you don't necessarily want a waffle, but the waffles are so good, I don't even eat them with anything, just bare. It's true that the Waffle House in Waynesboro is sometimes really, really busy but that's because it's really, really good; far better than the Staunton location regardless of what anyone else says.
