Based on a local recommendation, my wife and I stopped in for a late breakfast on a recent Saturday. The place had that classic diner feel--busy, a little old-school, but comfortable. Despite the crowd, we were seated quickly with minimal wait. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. The food was a highlight with two exceptions. The corned beef hash was a standout--crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. My pork chops, unfortunately, were overcooked, and the home fries were softer than I prefer instead of crispy. Service really elevated the experience. Our server, Emily, was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal. Please stay away if not going for breakfast. Food was very underwhelming. Not a spot if your from out of town, everyone stares at you. Went for dinner at 6:30 and they were out of a bunch of stuff. I do have to say that our server was very nice and attentive. read more

Eggs cooked perfectly. The country fried steak and gravy exceeded expectations, well seasoned and not soggy as sometimes can happen with breaded meat once it sits. Decent grits and coffee too. Way off the interstate so mainly locals and folks who read Yelp. The wait staff tag teams to cover all tables at the same time. Friendly and attentive. A truly great mom and pop diner. Just as we like. The Hand c coffee is so smoooth you can drink it black. The burgers are thick and taste amazing. Our waitress was very attentive keeping coffee and drinks full. We had the Weasie Burger and the mushroom swiss burger with their home made potato salad and pasta salad. Stopped by this hotspot locals flock too for breakfast. It's tucked away in downtown Waynesboro off Main Street. Parking was ample in the lot as was street parking. Upon walking in, you are invited to sit wherever you'd like. The tables have partitions between them to aide in social distancing which was a nice touch. Within a minute of sitting down the server had placed a menu in front of me along with napkin and packaged silverware and took my drink order. I requested the Scrambler for my meal which also arrived pretty quickly to the table. It was filling and warm; plenty for two people to even share. As the servers floated around they interacted with the usual customers in a friendly banter. It's a pretty neat spot with a relaxed vibe. There are plenty of comfort meals and deserts to choose from on the menu. Highly recommend checking out this place. read more

Weasie's is an iconic spot in Waynesboro VA that has been around for decades. It has also been decades sense we have been there. However, on this particular Saturday, we were looking for a good breakfast diner that we had not been to recently and thought about Weasie's. We were not disappointed, in fact, we were very impressed. They were packed, so we sat up at the bar. First notice, very clean. Waitstaff was friendly and moving quick to help all the diners. Very comfortable, country artwork all around. If you need to use the facilities, know that they are outside and you need a key. Menu is great, all the classic breakfast choices. We chose French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and a side of country ham and potatoes. Everything was great. Portions were plenty. We could not finish it all, but enjoyed it all. This is the cleanest place with the freshest food i have been in a long time. Seriously, the food was amazing service was awesome!! i had breakfast at 7pm it was as good as i can cook at home, except for the biscuits, they were honestly better than McDonald's! And on top of the service and food, bathrooms were clean as my moms. if I'm ever passing through within an hour of this place, I will definitely stop again. This is the kind of southern breakfast food that just soothes you to the core. We got the egg scramble with bacon, fried potatoes with onions, stack of pancakes, and over easy eggs with sausage. We were traveling through Waynesboro looking for a place to eat when we happened upon Weasie's Kitchen. We stopped because we don't care for fast food or chain restaurants. We pulled in and it immediately looked like our kind of place, and it didn't disappoint. The staff and the customers made us feel very welcome, the menu had lots of home style comfort food to order, and it was so neat and clean you could have performed open-heart surgery in there. The food was delicious, and the prices were more than reasonable. Needless to say, the four of us went away very happy and satisfied. I really wanted to like Weasie's. It's exactly the kind of place I adore; small, local, humble, and honest. I've written reviews of many small town and country diners in central Virginia, and had hopes Weasie's would join the standouts. Signs were good upon arriving. It was unpretentious and full of working folks donning a fair share of camouflage clothing. Lots of pick-ups in the lot, and full at lunchtime. The food on the plates looked just right, the offering for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner (see photo) was spot-on, the service tip-top, and the menu full of classics. I was in the mood for a sandwich. My go to is a Patty Melt or a Club, but I asked about the eponymous Weasie's Burger. It was highly recommended but fell sorely short. The home fries were greasy and flavorless, the burger itself dry, and the "special sauce" just 1000 Island dressing. Very disappointing. My suspicion is that I just happened to have a bad experience. Everything else about this place was right. But one can only write about one's experience. I would recommend anyone in the area try Weasie's, but with the wealth of good diners close by, I won't be stopping by again. read more

I've been back here numerous times since my last review but forgot to come back to update. Every time I've been back here, which is fairly often, the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is wonderful and they make you feel at home. So it seems my first visit was a fluke and I'm so happy I went back for a second (and 22nd) try. I recommend all of their food, so really it's up to your taste buds for what to order. Although, I can tell you that their macaroni and cheese is AMAZING and I always get it. When we first arrived there seemed to be a line and the sign at the door said "Please Wait to be Seated" so we worked out way to the counter only to find out it was seat yourself as obviously the locals knew because that's what they did. They have a good variety on their menu. The wait for our food wasnt bad at all. The blueberry pancakes were very good and my wife's fried Bologna breakfast was hot and delicious. I'm almost ashamed to say that I had never been here before. This place has been around for a long time and could be older than me. Went here for breakfast. Covid friendly, they put panels over 6' tall up between tables. This is a small restaurant, not sure it would hold 50 people under normal conditions. Also have take out available with outdoor pick-up. Friendly Staff. My buddy's wife had pancakes and bacon. Looked good and bacon appeared crispy. She didn't have complaints so considered it to be ok. My buddy had ham and cheese omelet, he likes his food and would have said something if he didn't like it. He and I split chipped beef gravy on biscuits. Biscuits were fluffy, gravy was almost as good as I make, better than most places. I ordered a bologna sandwich ( let's face it if you're from the south and bologna is on the menu, its practically an obligation) I would have liked the bologna to be either thicker or more than a couple slices for almost a $5 sandwich. But it was fried so it was fine. My buddy and I both had home fries with onions. Sadly they weren't cooked together onions were sautéed and laid on home fries. Not sure how potatoes were cooked but I think they were frozen from a bag and and put in an oven. Overall it's worth going because it's really a retro place to eat.
