We always drive by this place but we decided to try it for breakfast yesterday. And OMG was it so worth it. My boyfriend ordered a plain waffle, eggs and bacon. The eggs were rather fluffy and the bacon has the perfect crunch. His waffle was crunchy on the outside and so tender on the inside. Very good! I have a waffle with bananas, ice cream, strawberries, chocolate syrup and powdered sugar. Talk about a cavity on a plate, but it was delicious. The food on people's plates looked delicious. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich; cheese, eggs, bacon, ham & signature sauce in a waffle with a hash brown patty. I almost had asked for the sauce on the side but glad I didn't. The sauce is sweet & balances with the salty. It was so good. The customer service could have been better. I'm hoping it was an off day for the lady who took my order, as she was short with me & seemed bothered for me ordering. Maybe she was really busy & just catching up. I found this Black Owned Business in North Las Vegas, I Came here this morning for a light breakfast and not only did I get a light breakfast but it was Delicious!! The establishment was clean, the lovely young hostess greeted me with Smiles and when I asked for a recommendation (since it was my first time here) she gave me her honest opinion and she Nailed it. After a long morning of fasting, having blood drawn, and sitting at the DMV, my husband and I were STARVING on Thursday morning, and decided to look up someplace nearby for breakfast. Pulling up my trusty Yelp app, I located Waffles Cafe, and we decided to check it out. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Kim, who I found out a little later is the owner. She asked if we'd been in before, and after finding out that we hadn't, let us know that if we had questions about the menu, to just ask, and she's more than happy to help. The menu is big, but not too overwhelming. I had a hard time picking because everything looked wonderful. We decided on: Chicken and waffles for my fella, and the "create your own" waffle combo for me. I've seen a couple reviews knocking the place because they use paper plates and plastic utensils, but it didn't bother me at all. At least the plates/cups are biodegradable. The thing is, this isn't a fancy restaurant or a chain like Ihop or Denny's. Its super cute, super clean (like...she wipes down the hot sauce bottles after they've been used), and cozy. I'm not so pretentious to be bothered by eating off paper plates. I also ordered a taro boba drink, which was heavenly. Boba was the perfect consistency. When the food arrived, everything was HOT. Like...I burned my mouth on the grits, hot. Fella's chicken and waffles were good. We're 99% sure that the chicken is breaded in house and not store bought. They were tasty. Not greasy at ALL, which thrilled me. The chicken came with this sauce...we think its a honey mustard type base with hot sauce, and it is DELICIOUS. I'd eat this all day long. Fella's waffle was really good too. I opted for the "create your own" waffle combo. This is exciting, because there are at least 5 or 6 different waffle bases for you to choose from: Original, Gluten free, Red Velvet, Chia Seed, Flax seed...SO many to choose from! For Thursday's visit, I chose the original batter, with pecans. (there were LOTS of other toppings, but I was in the mood for simple) The combo comes with 2 sides and a drink. I chose bacon, grits, and did my boba slushie, with an upgrade charge. So the waffle itself comes with powdered sugar and whipped cream. We had regular syrup too. The waffle was really good. Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside...perfect. The grits were burn your mouth hot, but delicious. Best grits I've had in ages, truth be told. Throw in a little butter (which it came with on the side)...mmmm. I was in heaven. The bacon was cooked well. I wish there was more than 2 pieces to a side, but I think that's pretty standard for "sides" of bacon at other places too. Who doesn't want more bacon all the time anyway? We were checked on a couple of times, but not too many. Service really was top notch. I definitely plan to return, there are lots of items on the menu that I want to try out!! read more

I wish I could rate this place higher. Five stars isn't enough. First coming into the restaurant we are always greeted with warm smiles and welcoming. Very clean restaurants even the bathroom. I love the fact the owner, Mrs Kim comes out and greet everyone personally. I can't really say what's my favorite dish because I fall in love with everything I eat. Each week my husband and I come in and I try something new. They have never disappointed me. Everyone go out their way to make sure we get the best service they offer. The texture of the apples are scrumptious with the right balance of spice (because that is a thing!) and the balance with the ice cream and whipped cream was just right. The texture of the waffles are JUST RIGHT! The Chicken and Waffles were scrumptious. It is an art to create wings that are tender and juicy with just the right crisp. My family didnt have the same experience that most other reviewers did. ‍ Staff wasnt...unfriendly, but I wouldnt say they were friendly either. And things seemed somewhat unorganized. We walked in without a welcome. No one was at the counter and one young woman was cleaning a table. After standing awkwardly for a minute I asked if we could sit anywhere we wanted. She informs us we needed to place our order at the counter, then could take our seats. We start to place our order at the counter using a self serve computer when a different woman comes to the register on the counter beside the self serve computer and offers to take the order we had already began inputting in the computer. So we scoot on over and she takes our order. I had the chicken and waffles with thighs. My youngest child had the red velvet waffles with strawberries, whip cream, chocolate chips. I think it was called the sweet treat or something. My oldest child had a waffle with chocolate chips scrambed eggs and bacon. I walked away to get water while my husband ordered his so I dont know the names, but he had chicken thighs with a waffle with potatoes, sausage and eggs (basically a scramble), and a waffle with kiwi and pineapple on it. They had informed us that the chicken thighs would take 15 minutes to cook so we knew we had to wait a slightly longer time. We had time to anticipate our delicious meal. #WRONG The first bite I took I was instantly disappointed. My chicken thigh was fried HARD. And not evenly seasoned. The blazing sauce was tasty so that somewhat helped, but not really. I love a juicy chicken thigh and both pieces were hard, and dry. I tasted a piece of my waffle but it had a very unusual taste, almost as though there were vinegar in it. My husband said it tasted like pizza dough. It wasnt for me. 0.5 on the Keith Lee scale. My youngest ate all the waffle that was touched by strawberries, whipcream and chocolate chips, but left any piece if waffle that didnt have the sweet additions on it. Oldest said his eggs were unseasoned and his bacon was so overcooked and dry that it crumbled with each bite. My husband ate some of his (also dry) chicken that topped his waffle scramble and didnt touch his tropical waffle. We averaged eating 1/3 of our meal each. 70+ dollars wasted on a meal that wasnt worth it. I'm disappointed because we may be moving to the area and love breakfast and brunch. OUCH!!! Just kidding you cannot be burnt on anything at this place not even 'hot off the iron waffles' can burn you. Check the photos, come on they cannot even melt whipped cream or butter? the half waffle was a half order waffle, it was not eaten then complained about. It was a 15 foot walk to our table from the kitchen. We talked to the manager about this. The manager said, "We use a timer." Like that would help us understand. Therein lies the problem, he might as well said, "This is the way we always do it!" Change the timer so the waffle is cooked through and through. You can see how uncooked it is by its color. The inside of the waffle was raw in the middle, hence the inability to melt butter. Now if the manager who made all of the excuses would look at, maybe something being not right, perhaps the customer would get what they ordered, hot waffles, bacon and eggs, not the case, "This is the way we have always done it!" And the other response, "I don't know why the eggs are cold." Pretty rich eh? Now the eggs, well the eggs were burnt all around the edges and not cooked completely. Over medium means, generally means, cooked white, and soft yolk. How do you burn the edges and have the middle raw, again it is they way they always do it. A bit of advice, turn down the heat and let the egg cook. Oh I forgot to mention we were the only people in the restaurant, now I know why. The bacon looked to be cut short so 2 slices seemed to equal almost 1 1/2 pieces. I suppose those pieces end up in some other dish. Pretty brilliant to short a customer so you can make another dish with bacon bits that were paid for by me. "Nuff said, nothing will change here, because, "This is the way we always have done it." A sure recipe for a poorly run business and one that may not be around much longer. Good luck! I suggest not going to this place for breakfast unless, even if you are the only person there, you want cold food - again check out the photos. In the past we've always ordered from Waffles Cafe to go. Today my son and I sat down and had the best meal yet. We've always ordered the chicken and waffles, one order with tenders the other with wings and by golly gee gosh it was outstanding. The wait for chicken was about 12 minutes as quoted and it was worth every minute! The owners do everything right from the strawberry butter to the chicken dipping sauce. Also, they offer specialty syrup when you dine in. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I ordered drinks for the first time including a pineapple, orange, mango smoothie and a chai latte and they came a while after we had our food. When my relatives start hitting the slots, they say I'm bad luck if I watch, so they tell me to scram."We'll be here a half hour, see you then..." I decided to get it to go and eat it in the parking lot of the casino, well aware the Casino videotapes the parking lots. All I can say to the security staff watching my one tape, "Get your own!" The aromatic, juicy berrie slices were naturally sweet with the waffle, the peaches were a good contrast visually, in taste, and texture. The variety of waffles is fantastic, you can order one of their pre made concoctions, or create your own. There is nutella, pumpkin, pecan, apples, blueberries, and so many others. They have a great $5.49 breakfast waffle special with egg, bacon or sausage, and can add hash browns for a price. Of course, waffle sandwhiches are popular, too. They had some bobas and teas. But I had their Columbian coffee to go, it was decent, though I prefer my coffees bolder (i.e. French Roast) but it was a great accompaniement to my sweet dessert. All told, it was about $8.
