Well, you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you see in the Detroit Airport at Gate A63 - namely Wahlburgers. Step inside and you'll immediately notice what's not there: an ordering counter. Instead, everything happens at the self serve kiosks, where you can scroll through a surprisingly deep menu--Starters, Salads, Burgers, Sandwiches, Sides, Kids Meals, Shakes, Floats, Desserts, Drinks, Beer and Wine, even boozy adult shakes. I punched in my order for an Entrée Salad by the name of The Original Chicken. It included marinated seared chicken breast, mixed greens, caramelized onion, crispy onion, cherry tomatoes and sliced avocado served with house made honey-garlic dressing. It was listed at 740 Calories. I ordered it without the dressing, so that probably knocked off 100 or so. The salad was excellent, and I didn't miss that salad dressing at all because the chicken and caramelized onions were so flavorful. The chicken was juicy and tender and the avocado slices were pretty much perfect. I sat at the counter, enjoyed my lunch, and took advantage of the many charging ports available for counter seating. That was a nice touch. And the price of $13.25 seemed fair considering the airport surcharge factors you see everywhere. read more

Sorry Mark, your burger joint isn't close to your acting ability. First time for me. Tator Top were cold. I'm a potato guy born in Idaho and sell Potatoes today. Burger was nothing special. Too little of your special sauce and when I tried to get more. Couldn't The Bunn is way too big and dry. Use a potato Bunn. Hamburger Bunn with potato flour added. Try it you'd be pleasantly surprised. Service needs work too. Employees just chitchatting. Overall a 2 star Max. read more

I've been wanting to try a Wahlburger for over two years, ever since I tried their patties from the food store. This was worth the wait! I got the OFD, my son got the Our Burger. At $32 for the two before tip and tax, the price was very fair, especially for an airport. The staff was super friendly; the grill was down when I got there but they were cool with me waiting and they let me know when it was fixed. My burger was juicy and flavorful, the bun was buttered (not my favorite) but not super greasy either. Not a sloppy burger that I needed to take a bath after like some others. Definitely had a better experience than the other reviewer. My husband I had 40 min between our connecting flights. He's totally a burger and fries guy and this was on the way to our terminal. I went next door for a Salad @ 7Greens. You preorder and pay on a touch screen. Card only, no cash. Pretty standard. If you want a drink you pay for that in advance and grab it from a stocked open fridge of beverages. He ordered a Fried Chicken sandwich and fries which surprised me bc he's usually always a true blue burger guy and I mean this WahlBURGERS! Hubby said it was really good. The fries were hot and looked fresher than most fast food fries. For an airport meal he was pleasantly surprised. The wait was around 10 min and the food was cooked well with no mistakes. He would totally eat here again. We have them in Vegas but never tried them. Now we might after this great experience. read more

Inside DTW around gate A60. Order at the kiosk and they make it fresh so it takes a little bit. Several tables as well as a bar to sit at. The employee was so very nice and friendly. Took my food to go to eat on the flight. It was good. Not too big, and overpriced but airport food always is. read more

From Amazing to Average As a vegetarian, the first time I tried the Impossible Burger from Wahlburgers in Royal Oak I was blown away. It was hands down the best veggie burger I'd ever had -- juicy, packed with flavor, with those perfectly grilled onions and a delicious signature sauce. I was genuinely sad when the RO location closed. So when I spotted Wahlburgers at DTW Metro Airport, I was thrilled to relive that experience... but unfortunately, it just wasn't the same. The patty was thin and tasted like any regular Impossible burger, lacking the freshness and flavor that made the original so special. No grilled onions, no magic. Still a decent option for travelers who need a veggie burger on the go, but not the unforgettable Wahlburgers Impossible I once knew. Solid 3 stars. read more

I've been waiting over 30 minutes and still no lunch. Normally I wouldn't mind, but this is an airport and my flight boards in 20 minutes. With 50 minutes before boarding, I thought "no problem". I always get the original chicken sandwich with added avocado spread. It used to be called the Gina or something .it's so good.

At the airport franchise. Staff just standing around talking to themselves as the line grows. AWFUL service.

Overall service and wait time was totally unacceptable. Especially in an airport. One person in line actually got tired of waiting and asked for a refund. Good thing I have a three hour layover. I was at the airport, had time to kill and hadn't eaten. Decided on a burger...never had wahlburgers before..I had it with just cheese and ketchup & Maybe that was my mistake...the burger was bland & almost tasteless. The fries were ok but nothing special.
