Clean store, friendly staff, Great recommendations for food. The fish tacos were fried just perfect. Salad is fresh, perfect rice, and beans.

    Delicious fish tacos

They have killer onion rings, the fish tacos were very good. It was a little pricey, unfortunately. Everything else was decent. Service was nice. There was a time when the restaurant itself had more character, you may recall that basically the outside and the inside were covered with surfer and skateboarding stickers! The ambience was so fun. Now it just seems to be OK food for the most part and not the best value, (two fish tacos with beans and rice and onion rings was over $30 !) I think I'm not happy at the fact that my fish taco was very limp, not crispy! They weren't exactly something to write home about either. The guacamole was good. The salsa was good, but I didn't keep well for the next day when I took some leftovers home. I should've returned it, (there are so many places around that actually make crispy delicious fish tacos ) if it wasn't for the nostalgia of this place, and so many memories here I don't think I would've ate here - additionally I felt that the employees were nice, but not concerned, also that This wouldn't have been there first choice of style of cuisine. I missed a really cool, surfers and skateboarders that used to work here and kept the theme alive. And all the stickers bring back the stickers!

Restaurant is very clean with plenty of seating. We ordered at the counter and a server brought us our food. When we were done, the server cleared our table. Food was good but maybe a little bland for my taste. Maybe next time I'll try the fried fish tacos, instead. My coworkers enjoyed their tacos

First off let me say that I've been a very long returning customer of Wahoo's went in for lunch today and got one of my personal favorites the 1988 burrito wet style with green sauce that burrito is absolutely magical and that particular green sauce is extremely unique and you can get it on other things like the enchiladas I personally like to use it as a dip for taquitos anyways nice job was keep up the good work

    Description of tacos ordered.

So bummed with Wahoos today! I no longer live near a Wahoos so when I am close i always get it. Ordered through Door Dash. Ordered 2 -2 1988 tacos with rice and beans. All pictures show salsa on the tacos and the rice. I ordered two extra salsas because I like a lot. The tacos had no salsa on top(completely dry) and only the two salsas I paid extra for were included in the bag. So not a single salsa for the tacos. The timing was pushed back multiple times-quoted time 29-36 minutes for delivery. Ordered 1:04. Received 2:00. The driver was waiting for the order for 10 minutes. A total disappointment for someone who only gets the chance to eat here about once a year.

Bazar Bowl was all rice with less than 3 oz of protein. Embarrassing.

Staff 10/10 Food flavor 9/10 Portion of protein to food 0/10 Won't be returning. Management needs to monitor and audit how much protein is given (less than 4 oz). Unacceptable, unless you want a bowl of rice and beans with 3 oz of chicken (carb bomb). I asked the chef beforehand and she said 6 oz. My wife and I ordered 2 banzai bowls and the chicken was nowhere close to it and left us hungry for protein. I left half the bowl of white rice there and heading somewhere else to eat my protein. Disappointing.

    Churro bites!

I heard about this place for a while now, so I was glad to finally try it. 5 stars for friendly workers, the chill environment, and delicious food! I especially love the carnitas in my protein bowl and churro bites. Everything was delicious and filling!

It's been a while since I've been to one of these locations. It's like fast food but a little better. The fish and shrimp were good.

A little context first. I don't normally tip to-go orders. Tips are for good service, and if I give one, it'll be AFTER I know it's deserved. Well apparently this place decided to retaliate! Food WAAAY overspiced. I like my food spicy but this was entirely inedible. It's simply not possible they'd make all of them THAT spicy and stay in business. Portions WAAAY under poured. See photo below of my $9 soup before I ate it. I noticed them chatting a lot and sort of looking in my direction a few times as if to be saying "we'll teach him to snub us, stupid ...", as the minutes kept advancing. Something seemed off but at the time but now it makes sense. I generally like Wahoos, but I shudder to imagine what else they did to our food. That's a stretch, but maybe. If they're willing to do that then what about hygiene? It also speaks to the management in general that they tolerate this; maybe the night manager was in on it? Also it took pretty long, maybe 15-20 minutes, so it's not the quick meal I usually get from Wahoos, and I was essentially their only customer for most of the wait and they had 3 people on staff. Maybe I'm learning why it's not popular. I'll never visit them again and I urge others to only visit at their own risk. The Wahoo's on Jamboree & Michelson has always been great. This one even look dingy from the outside.

    Baja Rolls
    Joy C.

I always order the Baja Roll, it's so filling and only $6.99. The green sauce that comes with it is just the right amount of spicy. Parking is horrible at this location but I tend to go during off-peak hours.

They don't advertise it on their menu…read morebut they have an unpublished kids menu that includes: grilled chicken with rice and refried beans, chicken strips with French fries or quesadilla (choice of cheese, chicken, or steak) with rice and beans. I really enjoyed the puerto Nuevo enchiladas and my 4 yr old loved them too! He also nearly went face down in the flan with coconut ice cream. My son loves coconut ice cream but now he also loves flan! They have a cool decor in the restaurant and it's very modern. There's a bathroom at the end and they have high chairs if you need them. It's a fun spot to grab a drink for the ambiance, but as a full meal, it leaves a lot to be desired. The food itself is okay--the quesa birria tacos have decent flavor and the carne asada comes with a nice char--but given the steep prices, you expect way better execution and more generous portions. Paying high-end money for pretty standard street food staples dressed up on nice plateware just feels overpriced. Service was fine enough, nothing to complain about, but the value just isn't there for what they're charging. On top of that, parking can be a bit challenging since it's tucked away in kind of a weird location. If you're going purely for photos, fancy cocktails, and a trendy date night backdrop, it fits the bill, but if you're looking for great food value, there are much better spot-on Mexican joints in OC.

They make GREAT Guacamole, customized at table side to your specs and their FRESH Chips, Tortillas and Salsa's are homemade in the restaurant. Husband LOVES their Pomegranate Margherita's and I can't get enough of their Enchilada's (Cheese, Chicken) and their Crunchy Taco's (Shredded Beef is my Fave!). Add in that their FRESH, Side Salads are AMAZING along with their new menu items - including Seafood combo's and there is no where else to go in OC for better Mexican food! I appreciated that the quesadilla was super cheesy, it was a great size too and was perfect as an entree with the beans and rice. The tacos were delicious as well, the roasted salsa was slightly smoky with a good jalapeño flavor, the meat was tender, and the tortillas had a great chew. The churros are not to be underestimated- they were thick and fluffy, and the dipping sauces were perfect accompaniments. The flan was the super star of the whole night for me- genuinely the most perfect, custardy, unctuous flan I've ever had. The vanilla bean specks throughout gave it such flavor, there wasn't a ton of syrup but it honestly did not need it. There is absolutely nothing that could have improved that flan. As someone with a gluten sensitivity, I asked questions about the menu and trusted that my meal would be safe. If you advertise gluten-friendly options, staff should be properly trained on cross-contamination and ingredient awareness. The atmosphere and location are great, but none of that matters if diners with dietary restrictions can't eat safely. I hope the restaurant takes food allergies and gluten sensitivities more seriously in the future.
