We tried to go to the new Korean fried Chicken joint across the street, but despite their "open at 11am" sign, they must have been in a different time zone. So, hello Waldo's! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and promptly seated. We started with an order of fried pickles. Lightly breaded, crisp and perfectly seasoned. One couple went with a chicken finger basket, with strips, slaw, fries & Texas toast. Another couple went with a trio of tacos. Finally, lemon pepper wings and a side of fries. The fries are more "shoestring" style, but served a hot and crisp. The wings were smallish, but crispy, not greasy and the lemon pepper seasoning was spot on. The wings were served with a few skinny strips of celery, but no ranch or blue cheese side. That may have been my error when ordering. The taco combo disappeared as did the chicken fingers. Even the grandkids polished off their strips. I also ordered a quarter of a rotisserie chicken to take home to the Mrs. Again, a rather scrawny chicken. I appreciated the healthier options on the menu, as she avoids anything fried (her loss). For sides, I added collard greens and a cucumber- tomato salad. I just wish they had brought the "to go" order to the table after we were at least half-way through the meal. Because it was delivered with our main orders, it was cold long before we left. Nonetheless, a darn good first impression and a solid choice.

It was our first time there. I don't think they gave enough fried pickles. The onion rings were good. They have a wide variety of sauces. I feel like they cut 1 chicken tender and slice it down the middle to make 2 out of 1. Nice way to make a bigger profit. The potato wedges were decent. They have tons of big screen tvs for sports watching. The shoestring fries were supposed to be extra well done but were soggy so they cooked another batch to redeem themselves. Kendra our waitress was wonderful. Their banana pudding was great. One of the best I ever tasted. They give 15% military discount. A little pricey. Their coleslaw was decent and sweet. Their side salad is really small. In Norton commons. Will give them another try.

Ashlee is a fantastic bart at Waldo's Chicken and Beer. She helps with food recommendations, makes sure you always have plenty to drink, and brings the food out hot and fresh as soon as it is ready. I recommend "The Roost" pulled chicken sandwich. The patrons at the bar provide a fun and interesting environment. Make sure to say hello to Ashlee!

I was pleasantly surprised with this place! From the outside and even the quirky decor inside, I wasn't sure what to expect. I will admit that this is some of the best chicken I've had!! I had fried tenders on my salad and now I can't wait to try their fried chicken. There was a pretty lengthy beer menu and we received a free appetizer for Father's Day, the fried pickles were great! Our server was friendly and the service was quite quick, we will definitely be back.

Good service but food was kind of mid. Not bad but I've definitely had better chicken tenders and Mac n cheese.

I stopped in at Waldo's for my first time there during Louisville's Wing Week! I went shortly after opening, and had my puppy with me, so we sat at one of their nice patio tables with umbrellas. My server was very attentive! The inside looked nice with a ton of tv options, which would be great for a sports event. I ordered the wings from the wing special - 6 wings for $8. I had the wings tossed in buffalo sauce with a side of ranch and blue cheese. I also ordered a side of fries and a sweet tea. Everything came out pretty quickly which is nice if you are there on a work lunch or something. The wings were perfectly cooked and nicely sauced. The buffalo had a nice kick, but not overly spicy! Love the seasoning on the fries. I loved the sweet tea - perfect amount of sweet! There are several other menu items that I need to go back to try that sounded yummy!

We visited here on a Saturday evening and around dinner time. We watch college football games on their big TVs. The atmosphere is a five out of five for sure. I love the sports bar. Service was OK. I had to go get my own drinks a couple times which was kind of annoying, but I don't mind doing it, they're really crowded but they weren't really crowded so. Food was just OK it's a two. I'd say the best thing about this place is the atmosphere and the location. Chicken tenders were just subpar to be honest I wish I could say better but they weren't chicken biscuits were the best thing I will say they were the only great thing that we had.

This chicken could not reach across the bridge of a guitar with these fingers.

The tea is watered down. The temperature inside was very cold. And then the food arrived. It went downhill. The chicken tenders are tiny. The side was also tiny. This would be great if I was an eight-year-old and I just wanted a snack. I'm not an eight-year-old. I did not want a snack. I will now be going across the street to CM Chicken to get a second lunch. Boooo. Snack chicken! Booooo! Two stars because it tasted good ...you know the two bites I had.

They created our birthday girl as a reservation for 2 instead of 6 and helped us surprise her at the table. The lighting is a bit dark but that helped the surprise. The manager brought out a sparkling wine and the chef sent out an amuse bouche. The pimento spread was so good we took a pint home for $20 (shhh secret). Our waitress Mo was professional a helpful with meal suggestions and separating some mushrooms for me. The shrimp appetizer is delicious and had 9 shrimp. The corn fitters come in 4 and Mo added 2. They were okay but I'd try something different in the future. The whole large kernels were odd in a light fritter. Our meals were fantastic. Everyone raved about bites of the filet and the chicken dish. The bolognese is a staple in the menu and was almost the perfect bite, perhaps a bit more meat in the sauce but the pasta was perfect. I had the wild boar and goat cheese polenta. The polenta didn't have a strong goatyness to it but was creamy, I ate it all. The boar was done to just short of falling off the bone. I used a piece of the grilled bread from my friends pasta to finish the meal. The wine list is short but complex. We had the Rioja red, so dry and smelled of old leather, but was a perfect wine to cut through the richness of the dishes. Our seat had a great view of the whiskey wall (almost every seat does) and it was a conversation piece the whole evening. Oh, forgot to mention the manhattan can be made into a black manhattan- outstanding. Best I've had in a restaurant. We are already making plans for our parties next birthday in July and will be asking for Mo. she was there at every turn throughout the meal. Pleasant and there to help at any point. The manager checked on us two times. WHP does fine dining so well. I haven't had such a wonderful evening for everyone in quite some time. We will be back and highly recommend. Will be sending out an executive's here when they are looking for L'ville dining. Well done. Sorry no pics, the room is dark and the ones I took don't do the meal justice.

Food 2.5/5: This obviously carries the most weight. The menu itself is excellent and the descriptions and components of each dish sound perfect. The execution was way off! Literally everything was far too salty and we ordered things that should not be salty... diver scallops and black cod. These are delicate proteins that don't need much help. Why oh why over-salt these?! Oddly the cook on both was very good but the seasoning ruined both dishes. Drinks 4.5/5: We had 3 different cocktails all of which were excellent.

We had the privilege of meeting Blondie and talking to her about some of the menu items. She was fun and lovely. My two favorites - the chicken salad croissant and pimento cheese with candied bacon and pepper jelly. The menu is full of brunch items served on the weekend. I'm ready to come back to enjoy the chicken and waffles, plus Jim's biscuits and gravy. I have put off this place for the long time and myself and another friend came here just recently on a whim. It is quite a drive depending on which part of Louisville you're coming from. It was a nice adventure for the both of us. We always like to go to new to us places whether it's good, bad, ugly, etc. lol. We parked at the top of a hill/ or flood wall whatever you'd like to call it. We walked over a bridge to a dock right on the Ohio River. It looks like a tiki hut with the bar seating circling around it, don't let the size of the place fool you they can make some cocktails and have pretty good canned beer choices. Our only kicker was it did take some time to get service, we did wait about close to 10 minutes I'd say, normally we'd wait 5 minutes if that but, since we came a long way, we gave them time. When we did get service we both ordered Sex on the Beach, one of Americas most popular cocktails. They do have some nice patio seating with a great view of the Ohio. There is also boat parking as well. As for food choices, there's a separate building for Tacos and Burritos, and not to mention.... Bathrooms are separate as well. We absolutely love this place, too bad we live quite the distance. We plan on returning on a warm summer night or day possibly.
