How can I give less than a 5 star for the best pancakes? They've ruined me to enjoy anyone else's. We booked a reservation easily and I appreciated being placed in a booth. Our server, extremely friendly, welcomed us with waters and took our order. The big stack is a no brainer. Share it, take some home, or gorge all three pancakes. We also opted for the build your own omelette. It began with 4 eggs and choice of cheese - and they have plenty of other ingredients you can upgrade into the meal. I was surprised to learn we also got two sides, and we chose the crispy potatoes and a blueberry muffin. Wild Eggs has several indoor tables and a large patio for nicer weather. I'm hoping today was just an off day, but this was our first time ever coming to this Wild Eggs and it missed the mark. When we entered we noticed it was very loud inside so asked to sit on the patio. The hostesses told us we could have whatever came first so we accepted and waited. There was no true welcome or smile just straight to business. Once seated we got our menus and ordered. I got the Kalamity Katies Benedict and my husband got the Mad Platter. When it came out it was quickly passed on the table and the runner out of there, so again no real connection or communication. Our waitress we saw when we ordered, I had to ask other waitresses for refills, I did ask for napkins twice but none were ever given. So again it all felt off, no customer service just felt like get in and get out vibe. We came at 11 AM on a Sunday and while the food presentation was nice it I know my Benedict's and potatoes were all cold. My husband's however was fresh and smelled great! I am still waiting on a gift card. I've called several times and no one calls back or they tell me to call when they aren't busy. My order was actually wrong 2 times in a row, on the same day. I had to drive back up there and waited about 20+ minutes and when I got home again... it was wrong and missing the main ingredient for why I ordered it. Visiting from out of town, I checked Yelp reviews for somewhere near my hotel with a good gluten free breakfast. If I were local I'd be a regular! I was able to easily find something great from their dedicated gluten free menu, including non-egg options (which can be hard). My stuffed French toast was delicious and the side of ham was a good complement. I'm a tea drinker and they have Steep tea bag's, which are great. Family and I came here for brunch around 1:30pm(they close at 2:30). We were seated right away at a booth as requested by my wife. Our server, realized our 13 yo observes certain religious dietary beliefs and we were very impressed with her knowledge and guidance while ordering and making sure to let him know what the foods contained; much appreciated. My 13 y/o son and I both ordered their 1/2 lbs burger with fries. The fries were hot But burger seemed only warm; good but would have expected hotter if something was just made on the grill. The burgers were good but had they been higher tempt I think the flavor would have been better; Ok but not great. My other son, 9, ordered Eggs Benedict which looks like Classic but Hollindase sauce was somewhat bland. My wife ordered Hevos Rancheros which looked appealing and was good. She loved it. I had a taste and it was good but not great like in the South West. I was surprised to see a small Glass of OJ was $5 which was a bit steep but I thought ok let's try it since my 9 yo really wanted it. Overall the restaurant was not that busy. I love this place! As a new one in their lineup, it's a hidden gem. Rarely is the wait very long, the service is awesome, and the food is top notch. Listen, I'm not going the easy route with this. Any egg dish is solid. But if you've never had the pancakes you are doing yourself a disservice. They are three large pancakes right off the griddle. Light and fluffy, so they can soak up the warm syrup they give you. It also has the quintessential chunk of butter melting in the middle! I'm adding the kids menu as most people don't realize how great they are with kids. We often get my son his own pancakes. Our server was Awesome ‍. She was attentive and quick to respond to any request. My husband ordered a Skillet and it had plenty of everything! He absolutely loved it . Also the blueberry muffins are great. Full of good flavor and plenty of berries, Yummy . The seating is perfect as well. We have a service dog and we can always find a table (or preferred booth) for her to lay under while we enjoy our meal. Other guest never even know she's there, until we go to leave, then most respond to how good & cute she is . We will be returning to enjoy more great meals in the future. The Wild Eggs universe expands with this new location in J-Town. Occupying what used to be Chicago Pizza, Wild Eggs finally brings great breakfast/brunch to J-Town. The menu ranges from pancakes and eggs to omlets and breakfast specialities like the Potato Head Casserole. They have amazing grits and feature a different Grits of the Day each day. Our server was Amanda and she was spot on with drinks and food orders. Wild Eggs is loud. Noisy loud. I think it's a prerequisite, but it's all a part of the experience. The staff here is constantly hustling making sure tables are clean, floors are swept, and customers are happy. I'm glad Wild Eggs now exists about 3 miles from my house. I had the chicken Florentine which now has become my favorite dish. I got an Americano with half the amount of vanilla which is less expensive than many other places in town and tasted great. I have ordered both several times since. This location seems less crowded even when at full capacity than some of the other locations due to the design. That is another reason I prefer this location. Food was pretty good, but our server was not. We had basically nothing at our table, we had to ask for: ketchup, syrup, napkins and even silverware. Mind you she had visited our table three times prior and never brought any of it over until I asked. Maybe not everyone needs ketchup- but silverware? Our food actually came out before we had silverware so for about 5 minutes we just sat there. Other than that the food was good, the chicken portion of my chicken and waffles was pretty small compared to other Wild Eggs I've been to. Wild eggs never disappoints however the greeting wasn't great from young lady at the front but she was young and probably unhappy about life it's okay it happens. Very convenient for me to have wild eggs right up the road, so love that. Southwest steak and cheese omelet is a must and comes with various selection of sides. Ingotvthe spinach and the French toast on the side. It was very good. 4 stars for this location. outside of the greeting. Definitely a place to go for brunch if your in JTown.
