I was blown back by the atmosphere of this restaurant. Other Wallaby's locations, I was never impressed with the decor or layouts; they were always super simple. But this AF location had me snapping pics like paparazzi. The food was good. The meat was moist, and I loved how they had a plethora of sauce choices. They leave them near the register so you can grab them before you sit down. I love their 1/3 rack of ribs special on Fridays. $8.00 for the perfect amount of ribs and 2 sides is a deal! The side salads were a decent size and their bleu cheese dressing was nice and chunky. Strangely enough, I think my favorite dish here was the kids mac n cheese. This was better last time I came a few months ago. I was recommended the turkey and BBQ beef this time. I had brisket last time which wasn't bad. I think the pulled pork is the best meat they have. But this visit was not great. The turkey was way dry (like jerky). The bbq beef was very disappointing and I do not recommend. Drowning in BBQ sauce and half of it was fat. The sides were okay. The coleslaw is boring but not bad. The cucumber salad is pretty good though. The fries were undercooked (several raw in the middle). The roll is pretty standard with an ultra sweet honey butter that was too sugary for me. Last time I would have given about a 4 star, this time was a 2 star, so I split the middle at 3. read more

For a chain BBQ joint, Wallabys is better than we thought. The brisket was tender (but not very smoky). We thought the honey habanero pork was tasty (but not spicy). The turkey wasn't dry, yay! Don't you hate it when the turkey is dry? I bet the mashed potatoes are delicious unloaded, but we got ours loaded and liked that very much. Sour cream, bacon, and chives can make anything better (except maybe a PBJ). We've come to realize Utahns like their sauce... SAUCE IS BOSS ...as evident by fry sauce (or variations of the simple mayo/ketchup combo by adding a spice or more and calling it something else). The black beans and brown rice have a thick ribbon of chipotle sauce on top, not anything like "beans and rice" but a surprisingly fun side to try since it's nothing like what other BBQ places serve. We came on a weeknight about 5ish with ample seating choices. By 6ish seating was limited and people stood eying those who looked near finished with their meals to stake their table, so consider arriving earlier than later, especially if you have more than 4 in your party. read more

I've had Wallaby's a few times, this being my second experience at this location. The meat is flavorful and not overly dry. The brisket salad has an adequate amount of brisket on it. I'm not sure if we just went on an off night... but my husband and I weren't super crazy about this place! I love BBQ like LOOOOVE it, but both of our meats came out pretty dry. I had the bbq pork sandwich and my husband got the brisket plate. We both felt pretty underwhelmed with the flavor and cook of our meat. Super bummed cuz I really wanted to love this place. Came back here tonight as a family for dinner. We ordered The Sampler to share, as it feeds 2-3 adults and it was a pretty perfect meal! We ordered: pulled pork, brisket, and tri tip for the meats. Three fries and Mac & cheese. Our rolls came out freshly hot straight from the oven! The tri tip this time around was tasty, juicy, and seasoned perfectly that I didn't even need to put any kind of sauce on it for additional flavor. I was really pleasantly surprised! Pulled pork is a family favorite, stuffed in the fresh hot roll for a pulled pork sandwich. The brisket was a multi-level texture (slightly crispy in the outside, soft and meaty on the inner level) packed with savory moisture with every bite. Tried their cream sodas for the first time tonight, and their pineapple cream soda and agave cream soda (we mixed it) perfectly complimented this fantastic meal. We received 2 minute checks from various people to make sure our food was done right and to our satisfaction. On top of all this, Krissy the manager, as well as Jacob the supervisor, really made this meal a home run - it really just made this visit and experience one of the best I've ever had when it comes to fantastic quality food + undeniably supreme top-of-the-line customer service! I am a ride share driver and go past this place a lot. Today, 11/16/21, I decided to give it a go as they say. Ordered the tri-tip special with loaded smashers (mashed potatoes). Potatoes were cold, probably from the ice cold sour cream. Meat was so tough I had a hard time cutting it which is especially difficult on the paper that lines the tray. Cole slaw was very vinegary with not much other flavor. Only high point was the roll with honey butter, but Texas Roadhouse is better All in all I would not recommend this place to any of my riders, which I do many times a day. Not worth stopping by. We have driven by a few times and I always wondered why Wallaby's if their is already an Outback? So we never went. Family wanted to try it out for lunch so here we are. Wow! Not what I expected. So you order at the counter and then find a place to sit and wait for your meal. The waitresses are really nice and the atmosphere is low key. I love that they have literally a buffet of BBQ sauce to choose from including Peach (my fav) Raspberry to a Tasmanian Devil. I had the Tri-Tip special with salad and "chips" others had the 1/3 Rack of Ribs. Both were really good ! Meat was cooked just right and seasoned perfectly. Served real fast too The brown sugar butter for the roll soooooo good. Wallabys is my favorite bbq restaurant. Their meat is delicious (this coming from someone who doesn't normally love meat). They have lots of different barbecue sauces that you can try; their original is my favorite though. Their homemade macaroni and cheese and salad are always the sides I choose for my meals. Their ranch is SO good! If you go, make sure to get one of their Oreo Brownies for dessert! It is divine. They are so thoughtful and bring it out to you when you're almost done with your meal so that it will be the perfect temperature for you. read more

We ended up coming to Wallaby's because the line at another restaurant was too long. There was a short line to order food here and plenty of seats. Right off I would say look at the menu online because you will kink your neck trying to look at it here! I used to love Wallaby's way back when it was just in Lindon but something happened and it went downhill. I have been VERY hesitant to return! With this new locating in AF (and a line at the restaurant of choice) we decided to give it a shot. The food all in all was just good. Both my meat and my husbands meat was cold. Is it supposed to be cold?? It was tender and had good flavor but I would have preferred it at least warm. The baked beans were definitely a hit with both of us. And I really liked the mac and cheese. Now to desserts- Should be the best part of the meal. Hmmm. When I ordered the berry cobbler I was really hoping for berries, in some fruity goo with a crunchy cobbler type top. That's not their cobbler. It was a bowl of fruit and goo but with only a shake of crumbs on top. I didn't care for it at all. It did come with ice cream if that redeems it at all. Husband got the bread pudding which we both liked but not enough to finish. Would I go back? Maybe. But you gave it 4 stars, you ask. Yes I did. The food was just good. Maybe not as well executed as I would have liked. Nothing to rave about. 3.7* I'm even haggling with myself as I type this. FINE! I'll give it another try. My husband and I were unfortunately very disappointed with how our dinner turned out. We had a long day and went to try out Wallabys. I had it catered once at work and my husband never tried it so we decided to give it a chance. My husband got the Melbourne burger, which he didn't really like, that may have been up to personal taste. I got a pulled pork meal with fries and baked beans. My husband's meal came in 20 minutes and mine took 45 minutes in total. I was asked to repeat my order several times while I waited and they kept repeating it back wrong. When mine came, there wasn't even any fries with my order. It took several more times of staff checking by and promising my food would come until I got fries with my order. The manager finally came and gave us a free dessert coupon which was very nice of them. However, we were both unsatisfied with the overall taste of our meals. After reading all the great reviews i was excited to try it.....sadly i was very disappointed. We ordered the sampler....not a single meat was even warm! The beans looked like they had been sitting in their cup for more the. a few hrs...had a not so apatizing dried crust.....and no its wasnt slow the restuarant was quite busy only had a couple empty tables. The style of this restaurant is one in which you wait in line, then order your food and pay at the counter, then sit down with your number, then they bring you your food to your table. They don't have a lot of vegan options. There are a couple side dishes that are vegan such as the black beans. You can also modify some of the sides to be vegan such as leaving cheese off of salads. The rice is cooked with butter. They have a few different kids meal options. My child got the macaroni and cheese and liked it. I got the side of black beans. It is very small for the price of $2.80. It was difficult to eat. It had less flavor than other BBQ places. The restaurant wasn't very clean, but to be fair, we came in right after lunch. The bottom line we won't go back. Not a lot of food for what you pay. Waited for food for 90 minutes on a Wednesday evening, and food was delivered cold. Ribs were tender, though I prefer the silver skin to be removed, BBQ sauce was decent. Baked beans were too acidic with no depth of flavor. Pulled pork was tough and flavorless. Brisket was in chunks, not sliced. Tri tip steak was 1/4 inch thick, then seared on both sides - overcooked, with charred debris from the grill stuck to it. Disappointing. Oh, and those taz eggs?
