Just as good as the Chowder House in Des Moines, but with a more old school, laid back style. Plenty of parking and the food is hot and fresh! If this wasn't so far away from home, we were on our way back from taking pictures at Crystal, I'd come here more as the Chowder House has limited parking and pretty cramped because lots of people love Wally's. When I visit Crystal this will be my "on my way home" stop to fuel after a long day of snowboarding or if the husband is up for another driving excursion. We always get fish and chips when at Wally's but it looks like I'll have to come and try a burger here too! The cool thing about the Drive-In is that you can order online! We've been frequenting Wally's for years. We love that it's an old school drive in. The staff is friendly, the food is good and the milkshakes are always one of our favorites. So Wally's Drive Inn is pretty good I even got free butterscotch ice cream cones for my kids for free and the fish they make combined with the fry sauce is a godly mixture. The service was also very good they were very nice too. And there is a park with old stuff from the 1800s not to mention railroad tracks and also a small fire watch tower in the mountains got brought down there. But that's if you visit at a time where just about no one is there because if you do there is 1 star reviews saying people get cussed out and people say the n word and other slurs and sexual words. That sucks but every time I took my kids there they loved it and when we took our dog Zelda it was better because my middle child Levi got the idea and she sat in the front seat and was super cute. 5 Stars. read more

From the burgers, the fish & chips, the clam chowder to the THICK milkshakes, I am impressed by far at how good everything is. Synopsis: It seemed overpriced, the food quality (other than the fries) was poor to mediochre (burnt/stale in my case), WAY too long of a wait for the food, friendly staff but questionable service. See below for specifics... Wait Time: My extremely simple order of 1 burger and 1 fries took nearly 30 minutes to come out. Food Quality: I ordered the whopper. It was very big, which is great, but didn't have a ton of flavor. The top bun was burned, which made the burger way less enjoyable. I'm guessing that goes hand-in-hand with the nearly half hour wait time it took to come out. It was simply overcooked and felt like maybe it was left under a heat lamp. The fries were really good. I'd give them close to a 10 out of 10. The burger I'd give a 3.5 out of 10. Customer Service: The customer service was okay. The girl who brought my food was very nice, but instead of seeming excited to be working there, she was talking about how she can't wait to be done working for the day. Price: The cost for 1 burger and 1 fries was more than $15. And, they literally ask you for tips on a sign as you order and again during payment. So if you're going to tip (despite that it's essentially a fast food drive-in, I tipped 20%), expect to pay no less than 18$ for your meal here. This is like an old school version if a sonic. You park your car next to a radio machine with a picture of their menu, order from your car and someone brings you the food and collects your payment. There is also sitting outside. There is a park right next to the place, where kiddos can wait for their food playing. The menu is great, it has your typical american chocies like hot dogs, burgers, lemonades, etc. Our food was great, I had a regular american chesse burger, they come with 2 slices if cheeses and is a pretty reasonable size. My daughter had a kid chesse burger, she thought it was quite small, but she still got full. The french fries are awesome and delicious, they leave some of the potatoe peel on it. Overall, it is a great place to visit on your qay back from Enumclaw outskirts. read more

Amazingly good food. The single fish and chips fills you up. I tend towards the scrimp and chips, which I've been back for a few times. If you've got kids sit outback Anders them play on the playground while you wait. It's a really cute seating are and they bring the food to you. Try the shakes!! There are not many times when you eat a burger and the gates of heaven open up and the angels sing. This burger is a religious experience. It's huge. It is moist and takes you to a euphoric place. So sad. Who owns this place? The gateway to Mount Ranier and this place is lame. Not going to say anything about the prices, mountain town, summer town, ok,but the food was ..... bad. Burger was cold, not warm, cold. I had only been there 20 mins or so which means the meat on my burger (at 1pm) had been sitting somewhere cool for a while. So cold the cheese wasn't melted and the mustard and pickles in the sandwich were cold. Chili was bean soup with chili powder. Ok, I am fromTexas and I have standards, but give me a cup of Wendy's chili soup over this. Now, why buy frozen breaded frys and call them out as your key menu item? I will tell you why, cuz you gave up brother or sister or they, them whatever. Don't care. Cut potatoes, fry, rest, fry again and serve hot! You have a prime spot and a cool looking place drawing in visitors. Now give a crud and step up your game. I want to see winners and hate to give bad reviews, especially these COVID days. I ask for a combo I'm sure that everyone knows that a combo is a burger fries and a drink this girl charged me 15 dollars for a single patty burger w/ a small drink no fries I explicitly said combo and she had the nerve to argue with me about it saying that I only asked for the Buger and the drink then she back tracked and said well that what a combo is ( single patty Burger & Sm drink) and then I said so you mean to tell me that your burgers are $10 and your drinks are $5 she scoffed at me and walked away. We arrived for a late lunch and there was two carloads of us... We sent in a rep from each car to place our big orders. Our food came out hot, correct and tasting magnificent! Nothing was missing and I didn't even have to ask for marinara for the cheese sticks. Since we live in Buckley we have gone to Wally's (previously Viz's) many times over the last 36 yrs and have always found it to be a hit or miss. Tonight I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no mayo, I wanted to put a small amount on at home. I was not happy when I opened the "styrofoam" box. My burger was drowning in mustard and catsup, a sloppy mess of shredded lettuce and pickles with the bacon and cheese mixed into it, the bun was so soggy, I ended up using a fork and knife to eat it. Couldn't taste anything other than the mustard and catsup. Wally's is over priced compared to Red Robin, where you could have a ton of fries and they come with the burger. We spent $25 for a hot fudge Sunday, 1 order of fries and 2 burgers. I'm not giving anymore chances, I'd rather drive 6 miles in either direction and have a variety of burger choices. read more

Was a little skeptical when we stopped off here but was excited about the old school drive in order option only to not be able to use it as there were people parked there but not in their cars . We went inside had a party of 4 and ordered mushroom burger, double burger, and two other burgers with fries and a few shakes mint and marshmallow. It was good. Food was hot and cooked thoroughly. Decided to stop by Wally's today because I've been wanting a malt I will start with positive, the malt is good and I will probably come back when I'm in the area and craving one. The girl at the counter was very friendly, she helped everyone quickly and seemed to know what she was doing. One thing I was a little disappointed with was the 2 orders before me were offered the Wally sauce while I was not offered any. Would have been nice to try it may have made my meal taste a little better. Now the actual food, I stopped in for lunch at 11 and the fries were discussing. They tasted like they were cooked with old grease I can make better homemade and even frozen at home. I would never order these again. The burger was OK nothing special and again I could probably season and make a better cheap burger at home. I'm only giving this taste stars because of good service and I like the malt. read more

Came with my wife and kids for the first time. Probably wouldn't come here again. Service was average, took about 20 minutes to get our food. My wife did not like her Farmers Burger, the burger itself was smaller compared to mine. The mushrooms we ordered were flavorless. My Wally burger was decent. read more

We finally get our two burgers and regular milk shake that cost over $27 dollars. The burgers were cold, not even slightly warm. One of the burgers was to have Swiss cheese and it came American cheese. Try peeling cold cheese off of a cold burger. Don't like salt or cold burgers, or the cost. The Diet Coke tastes gross. It's ok food. I mean, on a hot day looking for a place to stop it's not a mistake. Just not great. It's really all that's around so I guess not much to compete with. I had the fish and chips. The fish was ok. The fries were hot but bland. The chowder was out of a can. The crackers some no name brand. The burger meat was juicy and the bun was toasted.
