I know it's walmart so I promise when I walked in my expectations were not too high, but this place is beyond low standards even for walmart. It's so cluttered, jammed packed with product and unorganized. The sizes are all combined together. I mean seriously I find my 9 yr old shirts in woman section! Went to electronics to get a bluetooth adapter for my car, which online they had tons so i assumed i would be able to pick one up! well, that was false. Not only did the older man with glasses have no clue what he was talking about and knew nothing about the products they had, repeatedly try to sell me one with a cord which i told him many times i did not want. Wal-Mart has very reasonable prices for mediocre products. Great place to get staples and dry goods and electronics and clothing. Reminds me of Fedco back in the days on Valley Parkway where Home Depot is right now. Crowded aisles, products all over the place, gawdy signs. Most products are from China and hence the reasonable prices for mediocre products. They capitolize on their enormous buying power and occasionally will have a really good deal, but, need to shop carefully. Don't give in to the "register" gauntlet of impulse items...usually the regular size packages are much cheaper and you get more for the buck! Best time to shop is in the early morning...less crowds! And recently, they are utilizing more of the floor space, so, leave your entourage at home! It can be pretty tight in many places, especially when a family of six is traveling together, and the kids are just all over the place! I can't figure out why people would stop and leave their carts right in the middle of the aisle so that no one can get by! They probably drive like that on the roads!!! Watch out!!! Walmart is Walmart. I mean, how can you really rate this place? Haha. It's always pretty busy here and the line for returns/cash checking/etc is usually long, so anticipate a wait. They are open 24 hours, so they do a lot of stocking at night which causes boxes on boxes on boxes in the aisles. The workers here are helpful though, so I deal with it. read more

This is definitely one of the better Walmarts I've been to. Most things are stocked and organized well but what really struck me was a worker at the Scan and Go, his name was Julian! I absolutely hate asking for help but he must have seen me struggling and immediately greeted me with a big smile and helped me scan my item correctly! I ordered my daughter Xbox before thanksgiving I received an alert saying it was delivered Friday the 23 but received a email stating that it wasn't ready to pick up so I call today the 28 mins you my daughter birthday is Sunday dec 2 when I called this morning no one answered then called back was on hold in pick up for 20 min then hung up to speak to a manager named Candy she also left me on hold for 40Min I was so upset about how they had. I answer to wear my item is so I left my name and number 7 hours ago by still no call so I called back to find out wtf spoke to the store manager and she still had no clue to where my Xbox is at after 7 hours of searching really!!!!!! Every time I come here it's something. Said my items was in stock drive from Lockhart parked as close as I could to door due to a knee injury. Shopped couldn't find item asked an associate. She said she didn't know. I said you can't check it says you have some in the store I looked everywhere I thought it would be. She still doesn't know and didn't attempt to help. Check out at 853 went to leave door wouldn't open lady says these doors are closed. I said there is no sign we are right here you can't open? She says no so I have to walk to the other end of the store then walk across the parking lot to my car that was parked by the doors they locked. On my way out I told over five people heading that way they were locked as still no sign no announcement. They are rude unhelpful and won't get my business again. read more

i am giving one star because the advertized price for the three items were not rung correctly by their cash register machine today. i suggest that you always double check the yellow tag prices when paying your items. this was has not been i noticed with buying items at walmart. although walmart will adjust the price if you have noticed it, but this not good practice by walmart. i hope their management will correct this in the future. read more

As a vendor to this location, I know better than anyone to keep my expectations low. When you approach a dept manager to share sales numbers and that dept manager states that she has to go to lunch, it speaks highly of store management in general. The lack of any semblance of management skills explains the poor sales numbers. It is all connected. I get the fact that many placed in Wal-Mart management rolls are first timers. But learn how to be a manager and a leader. Learn how to grow beyond the typical lack of interest in your jobs and actually take ownership. read more

Everything seems to be in a locked case. Homeless people all over the place outside, San Marcos police should be clearing these people out of the area. I live so close I sometimes Walt to Walmart but usually I drive to the Vista Walmart where nothing is locked up and I don't have to wait just to exit the store after I already paid. I am a person who unfortunately has to eat gluten free food. I liked buying at Walmart for 2 reasons: 1) it is cheaper here (and GF food can be ridiculously high priced), and 2) all the GF food was in one small section of an aisle, making finding these foods a snap. I found out this week when I shopped there, that someone decided to eliminate the gluten free section of the store. Now the gluten free food is scattered all over the store with the other foods. Trying to find one can of gluten free soup among hundreds of cans is impossible. Or trying to find a bag of GF pretzels in the snack aisle with bags and bags is impossible. And extremely time consuming. I'm guessing the person who made this decision is not a GF eater. I found NO gluten free products. Also, I do not want to spend double my shopping time looking up and down aisles multiple times to find 2 or 3 products. I'd prefer not to contract a virus spending an hour in the store every shopping trip. Please put back the small GF food section where it was. Thanks :) read more

I will never ever shop at this Walmart ever again. The reason is poor customer service. I attempted to use 2 coupons that were only exclusively for use at Walmart. I went through the self-checkout My coupons would not scan at the machine. The self-checkout attendant said they no longer accept coupons from Coupons.com. I showed her the coupon stated that it was only for use at Walmart. She started acting very agitated, went over to another attendant and began to complain about me to her. I am not one to yell or rant, but calmly try to solve an issue through communication, so this made absolutely no sense to me. I kindly asked to speak to the Manager on duty. With rolled eyes, the attendant went searching for the Manager. I only waited a couple minutes and the Manager came over. She explained that they no longer took those coupons, but if it would scan she would take it. I told her that the machines have a hard time recognizing the coupons. Walmart associates, in the past, would manually enter the number on the coupon. She said absolutely not. She then looked at one of my coupons and rudely asked me if I was trying to get something for nothing. She did not understand the coupon. It was for 2 bags of dried cranberries- $4 off. Each bag was $4.98, so 2 bags would've totaled $9.96. Subtract the $4 coupon, and I would have paid $5.96 for the 2 bags. She asked me why I was was trying to get the 2 bags for $0.98, I tried to explain that I was not trying to get the bags for $0.98, the coupon is for $4.00 off 2 bags, so I would be paying $5.96. She would not hear me out and just said no, she wouldn't help me. She treated me with complete disrespect and not willing to engage in a 2-way conversation. I am not an arguer, so I put the items back for which she would not help me with my coupons and paid my $50+ for my other 6 items. I am writing this review because of the fact of the emotional aspect of this ordeal. I was not treated as a valuable customer, I was treated as if I was trying to steal something. I would never subject myself to such treatment again. These are the reasons for the one star and the boycott of the San Marcos store. read more

This used to be my favorite store until these recent past visits, I have been coming here since I was 4 years old , my parents have shopped here for about 30 years , but lately Wal-Mart has began to be different, Couple weeks ago went to buy a box of diapers and milk for my son, I never keep receipt for stuff I know I'm not returning as I was leaving a older woman approached me and asked me for a receipt, she literally saw me throw it away and made me for take it out of the trash, I was upset but as I left didn't let it get to me , there doing there job and want to theft as LOW as possible 2nd time I came customer service at Electronics and Sporting goods never came I waited about 20 minutes at Electronics and 20 in sporting goods NO one ever came so I left bought regular stuff , (sodas, toilet paper, home essentials) and as I was leaving someone was in front of me with a box of beer and the door people didn't ask him for a receipt thought it was odd as I was getting.closer to the door I got STOPPED AGAIN I got upset this time I didn't go get the receipt and left Like I said I have been coming here for years now my visits here are about 1 time per every 3 months I go to target and.costco now customer service here lately has been getting.worse , can't wait for black Friday to get STOPPED for receipts over a pillow read more

My Vision plan is screwy and won't allow me eyeglass frames until Dec. In the meanwhile, my lenses are okay but the frames I BOUGHT THERE are warped. I asked for assistance in marching my lenses to a pair of glasses so that I can do a transplant. Was told that they 'aren't allowed to do that anymore ' and explained it's a 'product integrity issue.' Oh, it's an ISSUE alright... This place use to be cool when they were open 24 hours and I could get my shopping done later after studying and there are no lines. THey are switching over to a superwalmart which might make them more convenient, but also alot bussier. Kind of sucks that their prices are so good that the crowds head there. Never accept a gift card from Walmart as a payment for items your returning that you paid for and have a receipt for. If you accept the gift card the only place you can spend that money at is Walmart. I tried today to cash it out because its such a pain in the but to use at Walmart, they take at least 5 minutes and it always requires a manager to sign off so you not only have to deal with Walmart in general you have to wait for there slow as molasses managers. not very happy. read more

So i could have gone to best buy, frys, or target to buy a tv but no I thought what the heck lets go with walmart BIG mistake! The purchasing was fine but when I got home completely different story... First thing I noticed when I opened it was it had no wrapping, nothing! Took it out and noticed, it had scratches all over the place on it and WORSE it was missing items!!! Never once did the box or the cashier let me know that it was a used TV that I was purchasing (that I paid full price for) so I call them calm asking what happened? Went in to get a bathing suit for the beech. They said the dressing rooms don't open until 9am (really now?!?). I purchased a pair I thought would fit and then went into the bathroom to try them on. They were too small. I asked the manager if I could exchange it for the exact same one just one size bigger. She said no because the returns department is CLOSED! Couple of months ago I bought a phone card over here and it was the wrong price so I had to get a refund for the difference in the electronics department. 1. Management took so long to come and give a refund 2. An employee named Manny was so sarcastic mumbling "50 cents difference that all? I can give it out of my pocket" to his coworker and mumbling other things about management going to take a long time blah blah blah. Customer service in electronics department is so terrible! I waited 30 mins to have someone help me with the BBQs in garden center. I had called twice from the store phone. Finally Sebastian came to help me and he was very good. He even said that he will be outside getting carts and will help me load it in my car. Unfortunately, it didnt fit, so I will pick it up tomorrow. Thank you Sebastian for your service. This is the Walmart I typically go to since it is usually on my way back from my work. It is clean and organized. Cashiers are friendly. There is a McDonalds and arcade area in the store. The only thing I do not like are the solicitors outside the doors of this place. read more
