On Monday March 23rd 2020 I had to speak to the manager to point out that there was no safety guidelines whatsoever during this covid-19 pandemic. People did not observe social distancing there were no marked spaces so that in the return line people could keep six feet or more apart. Hard to understand how a modern Walmart could fall so short in this time of pandemic. I personally asked people in line in front of me and behind me to give me six feet of distance as they seemed oblivious and not to care about what they're supposed to be observing. If I could give 0 stars I would. It's not like management in this store seems to care about the horrible customer service. At the same time it's not really the employees fault. Management use your hours your given to write a better store schedule. If you are going to have all of the cosmetics and nail products locked up you need someone scheduled 24-7 in that section to help customers. Pretty sure it would be easier to buy yellow cake uranium than it is to purchase anything from this Walmart. You have to get an employee to open cabinets for everything then they don't let you touch it until you're checking out, then they scan your receipt and check your cart before you leave. Amazing number of products available. Used to love to shop at Walmart with variety and great prices. Unfortunately I now days try to avoid Walmart no matter what I see in the advertisements. I went in for an interview on the 17th of August and had a pleasant interview and was offered a job that I happily excepted where I was told I'd receive a call on the following a Tuesday or Wednesday to start orientation and to have my background checked and would be drug tested. Both Tuesday and Wednesday have come to pass and I hadn't received a call and when I called to see when they'd like me to come in for the tests and orientation I was told they had no record of me coming in for an interview whatsoever. Love this place. It is huge! Open and has everything. Not sure why this place had gotten bad reviews. I had to come all the way out here to pick up a costume I ordered online. I have to say it was a bit confusing. I called to see if it was ready. Got transferred around and finally learned that online pick ups are in the photo department. I got into town in early June, like many people I stopped at Walmart to get groceries for my stay. They must not get expiration dates/restock their shelves too often, because I bought an orange juice that unknowingly had a best buy date of April 28th 2022...OVER A MONTH AGO. Very disappointing. After we made an expensive stop at the nearby Costco, the hubby and I decided to pop in to see what kind of ammo they had in stock. Just to get into the parking lot was a nightmare so we ended up grabbing the first parking spot as we entered. It was kind of far but it was somewhat out of the way of the crazies. Even after we parked, we considered backing out of our spot and leaving...but we already somewhat committed so in to Walmart we went. For the non-Walmart shopper, it's probably not smart for your first visit to come during the holidays but when you're in search of deals, you do what you gotta do. We went straight to the back of the store where we kind of sniffed out where the camping and sporting area would be. We had our blinders on so it was easy to pass up all the holiday stuff and other crap they had throughout the store. Looking down the aisles though, everything was a mess. I had flash backs of my retail days in college. eek!! (P.S. working at Macy's was not fun during the holidays). Once we reached our intended department, we found their ammo selection to be really bare. The associate said that they actually just got a shipment in that morning so we were pretty shocked. We were only able to grab 5 boxes of target loads but we were hoping for more. I do love that they have a cashier back there and someone to unlock the cabinet so you don't have to hunt (no pun intended) someone down to help you. Once the cashier in the sporting/ammo department checked us out, we were able to just exit the store right away. We didn't have to worry about the lines up front or anything which was nice. While this particular trip was relatively pain-free, I doubt I'd make a special trip here in the future. My local wally world, I dont care for this place but when your mom needs to buy a new bra and dogfood, where else can I go? This is the place I go when I need a weird combination of stuff that would require me to go to different types of stores. That's when I suck it up and go here for my one stop shop. The best time for this particular location is first thing in the morning. Its pretty empty. I appreciate that they do pretty well at keeping their merchandise in stock and the floors pretty clean. A LOT Of soliciters come here so be prepared to be hit by up no matter which way you exit. They have a Mcdonalds inside and they are doing some kind of construction right now to make another area. Not sure what it is just yet. The staff is pretty helpful for the most part when you can find them. Wal mart employees is like finding wheres waldo, but once you do your happy. Is this really a place I want people to know that I frequent? What can I say, it is super convenient and Skippy peanut butter is always on the cheap here. They carry a substantial variety of items from Clothing and Electronics to Food and Sports Equipment. The addition of the Self-Checkout is fantastic and extremely time saving. I use this option as frequently as possible. On the down side, Walmart is the bane of "Main Street" and lacks a certain finesse in the customer service realm. My local outlet is notorious for cramming every walkway with large, poorly kept, "Cherry Picked" displays. For those of you not familiar with the term, Cherry Picking is when cases are stacked atop one another with single items missing at various levels. With the amount of traffic in a store this big, inappropriately stacked displays present a huge hazard for customers and employees alike. Just as one eats with their eyes first, presentation is not only key to attract buyers, but also essential for a safe working/shopping environment. The above mentioned Self-Chec out is a great addition and I hope it hasn't killed any jobs as the labor formerly used to ring customers in could be greatly beneficial in maintaing the health, safety and appearance of the store. In addition to the safety issues, it is extremely common to see personnel with expressions that scream melancholy. Employees are not helpful because they like their job. Instead, they are more like automatons completing tasks as though they were programmed to do so. This place needs a spark of enthusiasm. All in all, I suppose, you pay for what you get. This goes for both the service customers receive and the commitment level of the employees. read more

Nobody wants to admit they go to Wal-Mart, but everyone does. The prices are cheap! Of course, this is mostly due to cheap imports from China and slave labor wages for their employees, but I digress. I REALLY don't like coming here. Just know that from the start. This store isn't the cleanest place in the world and the employees are barely helpful enough just to get by (I really can't blame them though, for what they get paid). Now here it comes.......BUT.......if you are on a tight budget, you really can't beat the prices. Sure, a lot of their items are poorly made crap from China (I try really hard to avoid this stuff), sure there are some unsightly people shopping here, ok, the parking lot is basically a death trap. Again, BUT, the prices are good. I had trouble rating this...spend a good 30-40 mins trying to figure this out haha. I do love Wal Mart, but there are so many things I dislike...from parking, the crowd, low inventory on certain items, feels dirty, but the prices and sweet older ladies that work here make me want to rate them high. I usually come in for a couple items and always leave with a cart full of non-sense. This is really close to my house, so this is my go-to place, especially since they are open 24 hours. It does have it's pros and cons, but it's really how you handle yourself here. It's a battle and you have to mentally prepare yourself for battle at any Wal Mart. Most of the time if I come at a prime time...which is basically any time before midnight lol. I seem to leave frustrated...from the moment I pull in to the parking lot to leaving the parking lot. I swear people are either really excited to get to Wal Mart that they forget how to drive. I've been in many situations where a car has almost hit me/and or my car. Now I park far. I don't mind walking, helps me burn more calories and preventing a headache and stress if someone does end up hitting my car. I'm sure most of y'all have been to a Wal Mart, so let me break it down. I'll give you a survival kit to this location: SM Wal Mart Survival Kit: - Don't turn left on the light, save some time and headache and turn left on Center Dr. It's the light right after that middle light to turn left for Wal Mart. Center Dr. leads you to the North Side of the shopping center, to the back side of Costco and to Starbucks, Smash Burger, Burger Kind, Rubios, T-Mobile, etc. - Go later in the might/early morning. Less of a crowd. You won't have to dodge people with your cart and I find myself dodging people left and right even when I don't have a cart. Even with less of a crowd, the later you go they are restocking, so if it's not people in your way, its boxes of new product/replenishment getting ready to get restocked. If these big bulks are in your way it is hard to get through, it basically becomes a one way street and you gotta wait for someone to get through. - Take the side "streets"; what I mean by this is when you are walking in search for your item of need, stay away from the main "road," usually this is where the most "traffic" is. Most crowds are around the food isles and the make-up, cosmetic, hair isles. So, I like to take the longer route, but it will save you time and frustration. I walk straight from the entrance, I walk past the first main "road" which is the first right...I pass that and make the second right through the women clothes area. This will lead you to the back end of the frozen food, alcohol, and kitchen hardware /items. - Self Check-Out!!! I'm so glad they finally installed a self check-out center. It's so much more convenient and faster. I don't have to wait in long lines for my 3-items. What I do miss are the sweet old ladies that are cashiers. They are so sweet and a pleasure to talk with. Follow these steps and you will survive Wal Mart SM! Hopefully without frustration and headache. I hope this review and Survival Kit has helped you! Be patience, be kind, and be considerate. I truly despise coming here... First off, parking is a mess. The lot is always packed, any time of day. That leads to the store being completely packed as well... it's a madhouse. So many people wandering around slowly and aimlessly. Frustrating. I hate to say it, but the people that work here are clueless. The guy in the computer section couldn't tell me what a dual-layer DVD was and couldn't understand why I wanted one. The woman in the jewelry section wanted to take a pocket knife to my watch to open it to replace the battery... seriously?? Honestly, there are two redeeming features to this place. FIrst off, the prices are decent and the selection is ok. Also, the cashiers are very friendly also. Having recently moved to San Marcos from Vista, my boyfriend and I stopped in here after he had been doing lots of research for the perfect TV for our new house. This Walmart was very clean, I was pleased with it's more upgraded looking appearance but it was a little bit overwhelming too, it was Wednesday night around 8pm and there were TONS of people scattered throughout the aisles. One thing I really did not like is that they have set up so many different little shelves/displays in the main walking aisles, there really is no room to move especially if you have a cart. We went straight to the electronic section and looked around at the pretty great selection of TV's. We had question about one of them, and a man named Ron helped us. Ron has got to be one of Walmart's best employees, he thoroughly explained all of our different options and was very honest when it came to where we could possibly find a better deal or what TV was going to give out on us in a few months. With Ron's advice and patience, we chose our TV happily. Once we got to the register, a few customers were lining up behind us and constantly asking Ron questions, I felt bad for the guy, he was the ONLY one working in that section it seemed and he wasn't able to tend to every (rude) customer. My boyfriend, while researching for our new TV, had seen a deal on Walmart.com that offered a 6 foot HDMI cable for free if you purchase Apple TV. We showed Ron the ad (because we were buying Apple TV which by the way, is so cool), he thoroughly checked up and down the aisles for the cable we were looking for, he couldn't find the one that the ad was offering so he radio-d the manager over, who eventually was able to get us a different brand of cable but it works just the same. Our credit card got put on hold when trying to purchase the TV, of course that's always embarrassing but Ron told us to call our bank and let them know that its not fraud blah blah blah. I felt really bad because Ron wasn't able to make any other transactions without cancelling ours out, he was nice enough to wait until about 10 minutes of my boyfriend talking to the bank and freeing his card (YAY). In the end, we walked out very happy with a beautiful little Samsung TV that we got at a great price AND I was stoked on the customer service because I have never received anything like that at a Walmart store before. read more

I've been to some Walmarts that would make other Walmarts look like Crate & Barrel, so I am telling you that when I absolutely detest a Walmart, I am not exaggerating. There aren't too many things here that are stocked to entirety. I went to grab some containers that you use for your liquids when traveling, only to find that all the tops were missing on the containers because some klepto jacked them. Same with those zip pouches that contain travel containers. All of the pouches are empty, all the containers jacked, and to top it off, all the items in the bins were covered with a nice layer of conditioner that someone had opened and squeezed out. I found myself running around looking for more things than I needed because whatever I was searching for was not stocked and completely out. Or even worse, stocked up but haphazardly ripped open. People also like to chill outside of Walmart and just kick it with their music. Oh and I ordered sweet tea at the McDonald's here only to have someone jack from me before I could get to the counter and pick it up. read more

I've found 90% of the store personnel to be great people, maybe more. The easiest way to describe them is to say that they are both East Indian. And for those who feel this is a racist comment then you can just back off from your knee-jerk reaction and realize there would be little else with which to describe them other than that the lady is rather short and the man is balding. Now, had I used those two terms I'm sure you would have become accusatory as well. But enough of that drivel. Dear Walmart: Customers don't look forward to having to return to the store and stand in line to return products. This might be a news flash for you. We purchased a product in good faith hoping that it would work correctly and fulfill our needs, and we were happy to do it especially since the cashier treated us in an appreciative manner - and why wouldn't they? They were RECEIVING our money, right? So now, said product needs to be returned FOR WHATEVER REASON and in so doing we get to encounter a long, sullen face and no eye contact or smile as though we are there to purposefully annoy and inconvenience the person behind the counter WHO IS GETTING PAID TO DO THEIR JOB! So in addition to the gas we've had to spend to come back in and the time we've taken waiting in line, we also now get to deal with your employees' bad attitudes towards us. Is it justified because they are now giving our money BACK to us? It sure seems that way. Trust me, every time I've encountered these two people the results have been the same. This store's Yelp listing advertises curbside pickup. When I got to the store and called to initiate my pickup, I was told the store DOES NOT offer curbside pickup. I had to go into the store, all the way to the very back, to pickup my purchase. On the way, I saw many considerate customers wearing masks and trying to keep their distance. I also saw far too many customers who had removed their masks after entering making no attempt at all to keep their distance. I don't fault the store employees who accept too high a level of risk to serve us, but Walmart is one of the wealthiest corporations on the planet. Surely they have the resources to increase security personnel so they can enforce their mask wearing policy. Customers and employees shouldn't have to risk serious illness or death because Walmart is too focused on their bottom line to create a safer environment. read more

Came here this morning to try and get an I phone 6S charger, since mine took a shit, on the ride to Diego. Back where I live they were on sale for 20.00. Here I found one for 7.86. I asked the lady to take the lock off for me. She rings me up and says 29.95!!!! Uh, no it clearly was in the spot with the sale ones. She asks her manager who goes over and says someone put it in the wrong place. Not my problem! Then she gets an attitude and says i will get it for the wrong price. Damn right I will! While I would like to avoid reviewing large chains and corporations, when one is so glaringly irresponsible regarding the ADA, I have to speak out. I'd like to preface this review by stating that the comments within are directed at this this location only....so far. I have had several operations on my feet in the last year and have been ordered to stay off them for several reasons. On three separate occasions I have gone to shop at this Wal-Mart and have had great difficulty with personnel regarding the carts used for people who cannot walk. The first incident occurred shortly after my first surgery in November 2011. My right foot was obviously in a post-op shoe and I was unable to walk very well. I got a cart to use in the store and when I was ready to go to my car, I was stopped at the door and told I couldn't use it outside. This was after we had already witnessed the same cart being used by someone else as they took their purchases to their vehicle. The next two times I visited this location, still in need of a cart to use in the store, I haven't been able to get one. Apparently they have only two or three and one always seems to be out of service. The last incident occurred just yesterday, and if you were in this WalMart, you might have seen a woman hobbling around the store with a red cast on her foot wondering why she isn't using a cart to ride in. Now you know why. People with Disabilities, I recommend that you shop elsewhere. This store has a definite lack of compliance. I Purchased an inflatable bed, but once I got it home and filled it with air, it leaked. I brought it back the next day and stood for 15 minutes in the return line and the girl told me "It's not our policy to do refunds on opened merchandise." How the hell am I supposed to know whether it works or not if I don't open it? They didn't have the same inflatable bed to exchange so I would've had to upgrade to a more expensive inflatable bed. So Walmart stuck me with a leaky bed. That is a buttsuck policy. I spend thousands a year at walmart. For cheating me out of a measly $8 refund, Target gets my business from now on! read more
