Today, I went to the Walmart Supercenter in Avondale to have a prescription filled for eyeglasses. I worked with the Vision Center Manager, Marisol H. She went above and beyond calling VSP to locate my insurace member number. She explained my coverage in great detail. We went over options and made the best choice for me. Then she help me pick the perfect frames. I must have tried on 20 different pairs of glasses until we both approved. And she cracked me up the entire clown. She is hilarious. The worst! My latest problem with this particular Walmart is that their meat expires the same day or the day after I buy it on the shelf. It is such a waste! I will avoid the meat as much as I can and the only reason I haven't entirely is because we keep buying cheap stuff here. It doesn't make it right. People that shop here will steal your pen, they will steal your cart, and they will act like the entire aisle belongs to them. Just like most Walmarts, it is a ghetto store and the only reason people go is to save a dime. *They have a lot of food for special diets at lower prices but they never carry coconut milk creamer or coconut whipped cream. I purchased a phone through walmart.com. It was not properly activated when it was shipped to me. I purchased the phone on April 4. I came to the store on Easter day since it was an Easter gift for my son. It was past the 14 days and I contacted simple mobile and they told me Walmart had to fix the issue so I went to customer service at this location. I was greeted by a team lead named DeFrance. she was incredibly helpful and right away said we're gonna figure this out and get you help. It was Easter day and super busy and not once. Did she make me feel bad that my issue was gonna take some time. She called over the Walmart coach Patrick to see if there was anything that they could do to help me get my phone activated. Patrick suggested she call the Walmart 800 number to see if there was anyway that they could help me activate the phone.DeFrance right away, hopped on the phone and was able to get me help. They were able to override the system and all I wanted was my phone activated for my son and that's exactly what she did for me. It was extremely helpful and her customer service was above and beyond. I'm extremely grateful that this location was able to fix the phone issue. I would highly recommend this location since what seemed impossible became possible. Great job. So this store is crappy as hell every employee I've talked to a lot always says how crappy they get treated and how crappy the mangers don't even respond to their employees text. This establishment has been under construction for months and is still very unorganized. Too many self checkouts built in with no customer service representation. Another trip waited 30 minutes at pickup for an order for two pool items. No phone numbers worked to call to make sure my pickup notification was there and wrong order was brought to my car, when employee took order back to building, spilled it all the wrong order of food all over the parking lot. Finally the fitting room answered and helped me. I have a flat tire and needed to make sure I could still get my groceries two hours late. I love that they bring you water and snacks if the wait is too long. I've never had an issue with my order and one of the workers always remembers me. I went there today with my two-year-old and I had a female worker that worked as a online grocery shopper at Walmart with the cart, I caught her staring at my daughter weird so I made eye contact with her and I asked her if she was OK and she Was extremely rude and defensive towards my two year-old daughter. I have nothing good to say about this location. First, they never open lanes becausse they do not want to hire cashiers. I guess their profit margins just couldn't support it. (Recently found out that cashiers of 15 years are being laid off to make room for more self checkouts.) And don't bother to ask the managers... they couldn't care less. Further, they are out of stock on basic items (soda, butter, paper towels, etc.) more often than they are not. Finally, much of the front line pharmacy staff are disrespectful and unhelpful. Overall, I have moved hundreds of grocery $$ and thousands of Pharmacy $$ to other locations where customer service still exists and I suggest everyone else do the same. read more

This shout out is for the Auto Center at the Walmart in Avondale, specifically the manager Derek. And for the record, this wasn't a scheduled visit. Last night, I made an appointment for a tire repair at a nearby tire shop for my girlfriend's car. However, the tire had no intention of making it there and decided instead to crumble. That's when I realized that her car didn't come with a spare tire because it had "run flat" tires. Also for the record, you will never see a set of Nexen tires on any of my vehicles. Run flat tires don't work when the tire disintegrates (and the tires were only two years old). I was stranded near McDowell and Rancho Santa Fe and decided to see if the car could limp over to the Auto Center. I made it, but they didn't have a single tire that fit my needs. However, after calling another nearby store, I caught a ride over to purchase two new Goodyear tires and have them installed where the car remained in Avondale. In spite of the difficulties this morning, Derrick was ever present, helpful, made sure the car was served promptly, offered great communication and was extremely professional. This Walmart is in desperate need of help. Tons of empty shelves, especially for cold juices and iced teas. Lots of lazy staff just standing around gabbing with each other while a couple of them should have been cleaning the men's restroom because it was FILTHY. I think this Walmart is ok. There's nothing special to it, and to me, it is just a matter of convenience. We moved last year, and I had my neighborhood Walmart that I always went to, but since the move, this one was more conveniently located, and it's on my to school. It took me some time to get use to, because everything is "flipped" compared to my old one. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a pharmacy, and a McD's inside. read more

This Walmart like others had so many check outs and only 4 opened. It's amazing at the logic behind this. I get it there is not enough business in the morning hours to staff the registers but come on! The place was ok as far as cleanliness. The restroom though... disgusting! People do not know how to clean up after themselves! There was a restroom with caution tape which I'm assuming the restroom was out of service. The toilet seats were so scratched up. Not sure why that was but I placed multiple layers of toilet seat covers because it was so scary to sit on. It's too bad such a large chain but a lack of quality.
