I used to like this Walmart but over time this place has really become run down. Today while standing in line to return something I saw a fight break out by the registers between two customers when I heard one of them spout racial slurs. It's already bad enough that customers don't give a crap about social distancing but also the workers here get all close to me one of them brushing up against me when there's plenty of room. Really not a crowd to be near. The carts...often there are no carts available at the entrance so I have to go back outside to hunt for one. Once I do about a half hour of shopping I leave my cart for a minute to get something from an aisle. I come back to find my cart gone and all my groceries dumped into the shelf fixture next to where it was. "Well that sucks, that happens to me every few times I shop here" I go back outside to get another shopping cart. I resume my shopping then 10 minutes later I leave my cart for about 30 seconds and someone steals my cart AGAIN. I wander around looking for it and find my groceries dumped out AGAIN a few aisles down. Which means I have to go outside AGAIN to get another cart. The reason this happens a lot is because of the lack of carts. I go outside and decide not to come back with a cart. I decided not to go back inside to buy a full shopping cart of groceries. Nope, I just jumped into my car and left to take my business elsewhere. Starting today I never want to shop at the Eastlake Walmart ever AGAIN. read more

Do not order groceries from Walmart to be picked up via their pick up service. The people that they have working do not know how to spell or have any education. They bring out the wrong items that you did not order which they insist you ordered. Then you have to wait longer for them to gather the items that you ordered. The entire deal is an exercise in frustration. In theory it is designed to save you time by ordering your items online, having them ready to be picked up with no hassle. However, in reality the employees that you call on the phone cannot spell and are clueless. One employee came out insisting that we had ordered a box of diapers. He asked for my ID and he had our name written down on a piece of paper with our order. Then he told me that I was not authorized to pick it up. I had to call my wife and wait for her to find the order number to try and fix the situation. He left and I had to wait for another employee to come out who had our order already prepared for pick up. Mind you this is after I worked a 12 hour shift and I'm tired as fuck. Never again will I put myself through this bullshit. read more

What's wrong with Wal-Mart's associate's not answering the phone in the photo department? Does anyone work there since Thanksgiving is one of the busiest shopping days??? Horrible customer service at the photo center. TWO times I have come to this location and both times I was ignored. The first time the photo center employee was busy and wouldn't even look up. I asked for help and she said she was really busy. I waited almost 15 minutes for her to finally get my online order. All she needed to do was grab it from a drawer. Second time, the same thing happened. I was looking to print my pictures in a 2x2 passport dimension. She said "you can just do it online". I told her that I was asking her for help because I had already tried to order the 2x2 photos online and that wasn't an option. The smallest size they had was wallet size. She said "it's been done I just don't know how". Great. An employee who doesn't even try to do her job. Have you ever heard of asking a colleague for help? After that she said they were almost closing and she was too busy finishing up with her shift. She did not help me and didn't seem interested in trying to help me either. Horrible service. How awesome is their Grocery pickup! Super convenient so you wont have to go inside the store. You order everything on the grocery app, pick a time and pick it up! You don't even have to get out of your car. Also for both employee and customer safety, the customer remains in the car while their groceries are being loaded and they are also offering free bags. Wow! It's been a while that I've been to Walmart. My visit there yesterday was a bit shocking and taken back with how much it has changed. Starting with the cosmetic section being relocated, not being allowed to take shopping carts to having to pay in the designated area. I guess there must of been a high increase of shoplifting. As I walk out of the store I'm extremely taken back to see a guy standing in the parking lot selling churritos and tostilocos! Like WTF! Top it off, he straight had a stand with an umbrella all set up. Completely in shock and sad to see what's being allowed in the community. read more

This Wal-Mart has always been good but lately the employees are rude. I asked for help with batteries that they have locked up and there is no button to press to alert that help is needed, so you have to ask employees that are already busy. I asked this African-American girl, who is an employee, if I can get help and she said "sure" and kept walking away. No regard for the customer. The Eastlake Walmart pharmacy told my husband his prescription was going to be $100, a refill for the same prescription he only paid $19 for at the other pharmacy at Walmart on H street. Luckily he knew how much the medicine should be & luckily he got the prescription at the other pharmacy before and luckily it wasn't an emergency (I.e. He did not have get the prescription at that moment - he had time to go to the other pharmacy) For some reason the hospital sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy. OMG read more

I love this place free Wifi and Pokemon. The store is filled with Pokemon and all the customers let me catch them. Everyone is super friendly. I caught 6 Pokemon in 10 minutes. I'm bummed there was no carrot cake or in boxes. Maybe next time. read more

Very displeased with the deli section. There four employees huddled together talking.not paying any attention to myself(patron) at the prepared food counter. I stood there for 2/3 minutes before someone came out of the back to assist. Once served the manager couldn't resist interrupting the employee to ask question which stopped him from: 1. Asking what I would like. 2. Confirming what container 3. How much.of the item. The manager: 1. Unprofessional 2. Lack customer service skills 3. Disruptive behavior of a employee in a high level position If he had to interrupt a simple, "excuse me" would show tact & professionalism. Especially at his level. I like the fact that this Walmart Super Center is open 24 hours. They have a fairly good selection of just about everything. They're getting better about adding more USDA Certified organic foods, but they could improve by adding even more choices. During the holidays, they carry a good selection of holiday decor at affordable prices. If you happen to catch their sales, even better! Christmas time is the best. They have lots of stuff to choose from. This Walmart is handicapped friendly and has those motorized carts for customers who need it. The bathrooms are average clean, but not the greatest. Most cashiers are pretty friendly, but I've encountered some "fake friendly " ones. Lines are usually pretty long, especially during their busy hours or weekends, so be prepared to be standing and waiting. Especially due to fact that I've noticed many of the cashiers are very slow. read more

Unfortunately our beloved neighborhood Walmart has declined in services in the past year, in my opinion, having shopped here many years. Seems more items are under lock and key than ever before and customer service to open these items has diminished. After waiting 20 minutes pushing a service button each at the pet section, the automotive section, and at the liquor section, I gave up and purchased elsewhere. Virtually no customer service personnel available on the floor when needed. Good luck also trying to get someone on the phone if you have a question about anything. I know this is my second review of Wal*Mart but there's a story behind this one. This was the day I received the BEST and WORST customer service ever at a Wal*Mart. I was in the Eastlake area enjoying my usual Sunday brunch at Miguel's, when the family decides that they want to go to Wal*Mart ( Target doesn't carry what my bro needed.) So we head over there and start doing some shopping for Easter; jelly beans, plastic eggs, the basics. Well it turns out that they were doing free photos with the Easter bunny. Cool right? We take the kids over and the chick says that the picture will be ready in an hour. Great, now what the hell can we do for an hour? Chick-fil-a is closed. We decide to head to bro's house and pick up the pics later. When we finally went back the photo center was closed. I went to the electronics department to see if anyone could help me. There's this effin chick whose name tag says "Customer Service Manager." Well she tells me there's no way they can get them and I have to go back in the morning. Not being content with her response I head over to customer service by the entrance. There, this sweet lady helped me(I didn't get her name.) I explained how I live in La Mesa and even though I didn't pay for the picture, I still wanted it but didn't want to go all the way there for it. She called someone over the phone and this tall kid comes by and walks me over to the photo department. He says "those pictures are usually right here" he reached behind a little sign on the counter and there was a pile of freaking bunny pictures! Right freakin there! On the freakin counter!! Why? Why did he know that? But the damn customer service manager in the next department didn't? Perfect example of why I hate Wal*Mart. This wal-mart has stayed consistent since I remember. Always clean, stocked up (for the most part), and since it's a "Super Wal-Mart," it has pretty much everything. It has become my one-stop for groceries, makeup, even gifts and clothes. Also, I always use the self-checkout and my transaction never takes more than 5 minutes (line moves pretty fast). I just recently tried their pick-up service and it's as good as it gets! I was very impressed! It's the easiest way to get all your stuff without leaving your car. The person who helped me was named Jonathan. I want to give him a shout out because he was friendly and went the extra mile to make my experience very pleasant. So, a few of the items I ordered, unfortunately, were out of stock. I got told by Jonathan that the manager had picked up similar items to the ones I had in my list. He said that the manager apologized for the items being out of stock and that these "replacements" would be given to me for free. TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE 101. They really showed they care for their customers. Great job, Wal-Mart! I hope the manager at this location sees this review and can give a pat on the back to Jonathan for handling the situation very well. I will be trying their pick-up service often!! read more

I actually like this Walmizzart, especially compared to the ones off of Palm Ave (@ the 805), N. Broadway (@ the 54) or N. Highland in National City. Unlike those other locations, there's plenty of parking, no matter what time of the day or night. The folks that greet you are extremely friendly. As Joel G. has stated, the super greeter at the main entrance loves to shout 'Fired up!' to customers. He's cool. The store itself is really clean and organized. The isles are well stocked. Prices are very cheap, especially if you are looking for basic home essentials. I personally like buying my workout clothes here because prices are good and, for the most part, pretty durable. Still not sold on the household or patio furniture, though. But, I don't shop at the store for those items. I especially love the service that I receive at the pharmacy. The head pharmacist always greets me by name, whenever I pick up my meds. A nice, friendly touch, I'd say. There are only two things that I don't like about the place. As with all other Walmarts, this place can get crowded. Even with parking outside the store, there will be the occassional long lines inside, as you wait to purchase your goodies. The other thing? The sometimes annoying customers who often cross the street between the parking lot and the store entrance, without looking or the customers who feel they need to stop in the middle of the road in front of the entrance, to drop/pickup passengers. But, that's not Walmizzarts fault. They can't help customer stupidity (or, irresponsibility). I just recommend you drive through the back side of the lot, if you want to avoid the pedestrian traffic jam. read more

Kinda feel bad for eastlake but any who its convenient for me if i ever need something ASAP then i can just go right after getting out of work. This store is plentiful stocked wayyyy more than my local walmart which is broadway/palomar.... Its huge! I got lost looking for the car section when i finally found it there was about at least 6 different isles for just car stuff amazing!! I LOVE this walmart. I was getting groceries here for a while because it's closer than Target or Trader Joe's or Sprouts, but they were out of something on my list on almost every visit. Sometimes two or three items weren't available. The space was there on the shelf, so they clearly carried the items, but none were available. There's no one to ask for help to see if they have additional stock on hand. Parking is a disaster. This place is always busy. Checking out: disaster. Lines for miles. There are never enough cashiers, especially on weekends. Bagging process: Disaster. Make sure you check that all of your bags have made it into your cart. On more than one occasion I've returned home and I was one bag short. Store size: Unmanageable. Way too big. Sometimes I'll skip something on my list because I cannot force myself to saunter to the other end of the store for one item I could live without until my next Target run. Dear Walmart, I would like to begin by requesting that you hire more people who know how to use a pair of scissors. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand that by coming to your store at 1 a.m., I should expect long lines and busy employees. I might even expect some registers to be open. But I digress. My adventure begins in the Arts and Sewing department, where I asked an employee if she could help me cut some fabric. Unfortunately, she was off the clock and couldn't help me. No big deal, she says, she'll ask someone to come help me. Wonderful. 5 minutes go by, then 10. I ask three different employees if they could help me. No such luck. Nobody has taught these fine members of society the lost art of holding a pair of scissors in your hand and cutting some fabric in a straight line! It took 20 minutes of asking four employees for help and watching them disappear before Michael came to my rescue and recruited a nice young lady to come help me. This lady knew how to use scissors! It was incredible. Thank God for this angel, someone who actually wanted to help me! And lo! As soon as she came to help, two other employees came out of the woodwork to assist her! I don't know how big this store is, but it must certainly be a perilous trek for your staff to take 20 minutes to walk over to the cutting counter and cut some fabric. I hope you make the lives of your employees easier, since clearly it's the customers, not the employees, wasting half an hour of my time, much like I've just wasted yours by making you read this complaint. Managers, go screw yourselves. Throwing in an extra star for the people who actually did help me and were really nice about it. Especially Michael. You rock, mate. Thanks for sending help. read more

Best Walmart ever! This is my one stop shop. They literally meant it when they put Super Center lol. It's huge and they have a vast range of inventory from groceries to hardware, electronics, home goods, etc. What I love about this location is that even though it can get pretty busy the space is big enough so that I'm not running into every body. I don't mind the crowds. It's the neatest Walmart I've ever been to. Thumbs up for being open 24 hours too! Parking is never an issue either. I Can't leave out the low prices. The service has been friendly although slow sometimes. My only criticism is they tend to run out of the cosmetics I'm looking for! I assume it's just a part of the high demand at this location.
