Wilson Square was unremarkable with a horrible parking lot. Dodging the potholes could have been made into a game. Well, what has happened recently to make it noteworthy and deserving of 4 whole Yelpie stars? A Walmart Neighborhood Market just opened there a couple of weeks ago. Yes, i'm quite excited about that! I've always been more fond of the Neighborhood Markets rather than the large Walmart stores and now I have one close to me. Yay! I know, it's those little things in life. Thanks to Walmart, the entire parking lot has now been repaved and all the lines have been freshly painted. They even redid the curbs, shrubs, etc., so now it's esthetically pleasing. Thank you, Walmart. I'm not sure how long the run-down Dollar General will last now that it has Walmart to compete with literally right next door. We shall see. Oh, and there's also a Metro PCS and a couple of other small stores here which I've never paid attention to. Check out the photo I added which lists all the stores, if you are interested. There's some things that annoy me about the store. You can't take your shopping carts out in the parking lot so no matter how much junk you buy and you got to try to carry it all out so basically you make multiple trips and hope somebody doesn't take your crap in the car. Now you might think that's kind of unlikely however they have paid security guards in here for a reason. Today when I went in the changing rooms were closed because they probably didn't wanna bother to sanitize them which meant the bathroom was also closed and that is highly inconvenient. When I tell you this place was empty, I mean it didn't have much merchandise. There were still several people in their shopping. But I noticed in this place is that they love to line people up they never have enough people to work the check out no matter how early or late you arrive you know you're gonna wait in line that's just the way they are here so if you come in expecting that then you won't be disappointed I guess. The prices are right which is why we all come back. You can get some super good deals on sheets and towels and it's a good place to shop for your college kids when they're getting ready to go back to school. The checkout people are hit or miss, sometimes they're nice sometimes they're not the security guy has been friendly the last few times I've been in so if you're in the market for bargain sheets and towels this is a good place to go however maybe not right now because they don't have much of anything in stock like literally.

They carry lots of brand name items that are always at discounted prices. If you don't mind overstock from other major department stores & like good deals, this is the store for you. If you don't have the patience to browse then this store may send you on a tailspin & you may leave the store unfulfilled. First Marshall's I've been to was when I lived in Long Island, New York over 30 yrs ago. They must be doing something right for being around for many decades, established in the 1950s. It's owned by TJX Companies which also owns TJ MAXX. Another favorite of mine. Their slogans are Your Surprise Is Waiting and Never boring, Always Surprising. So true, so I come visit at least once a month in search for deals. I like this store because it's not so big that I can come by during my lunch break and see a lots of stuff. Extra perk is their credit card you get a $10 coupon for every $200 you spend. Hmm....wonder what surprise awaits on my next visit.

I went ahead and grabbed a bag but didn't realize it must have been caught and ripped in clearance section and some beads had come off so. I called again and the employees held the sequin bag for me to pick it up all of the employees in the store are SO sweet helping me find whatever I need fixing problems and holding items for me so I don't need to hurry into traffic at rush hours while sick. They went above and beyond and are just the sweetest girls and I had to leave a review because so often you go shopping and the store girls don't help you or are cold and the experience is harder then online. However this was just the cutest experience today from like 3-5pm. They're so chipper and helpful that even though I accidentally didn't even check a bag they were happy to help and save the day on top of holding the skirt of my dreams for a few mins! Stop by this mall with my Lady while visiting Jacksonville Easter weekend. But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.

No matter what department I'm in, there are always adequate employees available to assist me. I never have to go out of my way to look for an associate. i've always received friendly service from knowledgeable employees. I love Dillard's shoe department. Yes, they tend to cost quite a bit more that what you'll find at more shoe stores, but they are of excellent quality. They last for years and years. You get what you pay for. They also carry Coach shoes which I'm quite fond of. I'm happy to say Dillard's now has a selection of Michael Kors bags. I know we have a designated store at the Town Centre now, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood to drive all the way out there. The selection at Dillard's is nowhere as extensive as it is at the Flagship store, but it is a decent selection. Dillard's also has great sales on their clothes. I usually buy my winter clothes at the beginning of summer and my summer clothes at the beginning of winter. I have literally purchased $60 tops for $5. So keep an eye out for those sales!
