I'm a 20 year Military Veteran who has patronized Walmart on 35th Avenue and Southern in Laveen AZ since it was built. On Friday July 1, 2022 around 10:48pm my wife and I were checking out at the self checkout register. My wife scanned a Great Value brand of honey and the "customer assistance" light automatically came on. We noticed a worker and called for his assistance (even though it was obvious because the light remained lit). The Walmart associate's name was Miguel. Miguel walked right past us without attending to the help we needed and walked over to someone else. When he was finished he was walking away and we called for his assistance since he initially ignored us and the red assistance light at the register. He looked at the error message and asked us what was wrong? We told him it came on after we scanned the Great Value brand of honey. He logged into the register and asked us what the price of the honey was. My wife and I gave him the correct price. He fumbled with the register some more and then told us we couldn't get the honey. We asked why and he said it's not registered in the system. We explained the price was given to him and he got irate and said he didn't believe my wife and I. He stated we were probably lying. I told him his comments were very disrespectful. He further went on to belittle us saying: "we had two choices: "go get another honey or y'all won't be able to get any at all!" I told him not to speak to us like that and especially in that disrespectful, authoritative, and condensing manner. I explained to Miguel I was a Veteran and would not tolerate his rudeness. All of this rude and unprofessional behavior took place right in front of our young son. Instead of arguing with Miguel, my wife and I asked to speak with a manager and he refused. Instead Miguel left (even though he told us earlier he couldn't leave with us to verify the price of the honey) and he went to speak with some coworkers. He never came back with a manager. He came back and scanned something from his phone and said he didn't have the correct app on the device initially. He scanned the price for the honey we initially told him and he never even apologized. We again asked for the Manager, or at least the name and he said he didn't know. My wife and I told Miguel we didn't want the honey and he smirked and reluctantly took it off. We completed our shopping and as we were walking out, Miguel was staring at me with an intimidating smirk on his face, almost as if he wanted to start a fight with me. I ignored Miguel and as I was exiting the store I asked the greeter at the door for the name of the Store Manager and she directed me to his information on the wall. The next morning on July 2, 2022 I called the store to ask to speak with the Store Manager Jose Acevedo. The Walmart Customer Service Associate told me Jose was not in and had to go verify with another worker that he was indeed at work. She said hold on, she was going to transfer me and hung up on me. I called back, reached a different Walmart Customer Service Associate, only to get the same result: hung up on as they were trying to transfer me. I called back a third time, received an apology for being hung up on, finally transferred to the Store Manager's phone, only to be on hold for over 20 minutes. I never reached or spoke to Store Manager Jose Acevedo. I have travelled the world throughout my 20 years in the military: THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE DEALT WITH AT ANY STORE. I was belittled, called a liar, stared at while exiting the store, given wrong information, hung up on, and denied speaking with the Store Manager. Walmart is bad enough as it is (see business practices & 'People of Walmart') but this particular store takes the cake. NEVER go for one item. You are better off going somewhere else because it will take 20-40 minutes in the check out lanes. They always seem short staffed and lines are LONG. Plus customers are very rude to each other and cut in line. The employees aren't particularly nice either- maybe because they have to work for min wage & deal with these terrible customers? This store is typically dirty and crowded. I ONLY go here for items that I can't get at Fresh & Easy or that are dirt cheap there. I feel unsafe in the parking lot and there's never any carts for the store because they are scattered around the lot (because of rude customers who don't return them to the corral & understaffed employees). Okay I know nobody goes to Walmart expecting anything resembling service. This store deserves a doctorate degree in achieving that. They can't hire a cashier to open up a line but they can have pecker checkers at the doors to treat you like a criminal. They open at 6:00 am I just stopped to grab dog food and the employee (moving at half the speed of dark) couldn't be bothered to open up until 6:08. I tried calling to speak to a manager phone will ring for 5 minutes then goes dead. The only reason I have shopped here is that it's close. I subscribe to the delivery and pickup service. It was good at first, over the last few weeks this department has become extremely bad, and when you try to call they either don't answer or they have a voice mail that it is full. Took automobile in for basis oil change thought they did a complete job. Found out after taking the same car to another mechanic Walmart only put 1 quart of oil in my car..should have been 4 to 5 quarts for the required Normal Oil Change. This could have damaged the engine severely, costing $$$$ to replace. I'm done with them. The news article was right when reporting auto shops do always do what they say..Walmart fit this bill. I went to self checkout as I was just about to scan my first item, An employee named Angelo decided his sweet treats of pop tarts, rice crispies and snickers were way more important than my items. It's one thing to ask if you can cut because you're on a break and have limited time.. just ask!! But to just rudely do it and laugh to your coworker about it, which Angelos co worker told him what he did was wrong, all this chubby dude did was laugh and say "oh well" and you wonder why this store has such bad reviews! Customer service is horrible was waiting for a locked case to be opened for 30 minuets. -1000 stars I officially HATE Walmart. Not just this Walmart; but rather ALL. There has been a rare moment in a more wealthier area and in another state to have had a "decent" experience. I just don't understand how hard of a job that a youthful employee could have to forget something as simple as giving all the bags which a person has purchased. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CUSTOMER ASKS THE CASHIER, "Is this everything I bought?" I am beyond furious because I went out of my way to ask this cashier that specific question; after all, she only had just forgotten to give the customer ahead of me all their bags of purchases too. With a confident response from her, "that's everything", I left. Realizing she in fact did not provide all that I purchased. With that said, an hour before closing I called twice and of course NO ONE ANSWERS, cause Walmart employees refuse to provide the service for which they were hired to do. So Now, not only do I not have what I bought for tomorrow, but I also have to wake up 45 minutes earlier than I normally do from my already early morning just to get there when they open, and have to waste gas going back over there, all while then making me late for work which I drive out 22 miles to freaking Scottsdale, as well as being stressed and grieving of having to bury my deceased grandmother tomorrow as well; this is why I can't go after work because I WILL NOT be late to her funeral. Which is WHY I had to get what I needed there in the first place. Poor customer service at just about every Walmart I've ever been to, low expectation of cleanliness or organized stock. I'm am absolutely dissatisfied that this Walmart is my only option where I currently reside in order to keep close to home. If I go in the morning to get what is due to me or they give me any excuse as to why they can't help; they have another thing coming. Get your shit together Corporate Walmart; crack down and take some damn pride in not only your store sites but in your damn employees and hire more efficient and goal driven people with the willingness to ACTUALLY WORK and shape them to shape the store and create a better culture. It I could give this place 0 stars I would! Where do I begin. I've been shopping here with my bf since we moved to the area and all experiences have been fine until this one. I was done ringing up all my groceries and threw my receipt away by accident/habit I guess as I do not save receipts , big mistake though because as soon as I got up there she gave me a dirty look and asked where my receipt was .. I told her I might have thrown it away but that the self checkout lady was helping me and saw me ring everything up. She then vouched for the lady to come say yes she did indeed see me ring everything up. Already giving me a headache that wasn't enough, she didn't take her word for it and then caused a scene in front of customers making it seem like I stole .. everyone's staring at me, at this point I'm ready to just get my 160 dollars back and leave. I even showed her my bank statement on my phone and she was asking where everything ring up was!??? Lol are u fucking kidding me. Manager came up and he was a douche , not surprised. I'm sure they have their fair share of shady people but I am not one of them lol he verified me on camera and apologized but honestly fuck this place. Honestly if I could give zero I would. This Walmart is awful! Avoid at all costs! Today I went into the tire center specifically to have a tire placed on my vehicle that I purchased through Walmart but online. I waited in like 25 minutes patiently and without complaints. The minute I stepped up to the counter, Passion, the employee working the front had an attitude. I couldn't exactly figure out why and even asked her if she was having a bad day? She replied "nope." I proceeded to ask her if she could take care of getting my tire put on (the rear passenger tire) and then politely asked if they would mind rotating the newest tires to the front. I then told her the tire on the driver front side is new so if she could just have the back one rotated to the front. She then pulls out a piece of paper and is asking me which tires need to go up front, I attempt to again explain when she starts raising her voice and telling me that I don't know what I am talking about and that I am "confusing myself." In addition the moment I asked if she could do the job she responded with "it's going to be at least an hour and a half before we even pull your car into the bay." To which I responded "no problem, I can be patient." I don't think she wanted me to stay and have the work done from the minute I stepped up to the counter. Okay for starters, I am not a tire expert hence why I am visiting them, however, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I just want the new tire up front? I am again explaining this to her but she continues to interrupt me multiple times through this process about how she "knew she didn't need to do anything" despite the fact that I am clearly letting her know the replacement is going on the back and it would need rotated to the front. Finally I had just had enough of the way she was talking to me which started at the very start of the encounter as well as the way she raised her voice and was in some way talking down to me? I maintain my composure and just told her I would get the job done elsewhere. Hindsight I wish I never bought the tire from Walmart in the first place, would rather just pay more and have the guys at discount take care of it. They are always pleasant and willing to help- even if they are slammed busy. Honestly it's criminal how this Walmart runs. I would Just avoid all areas. Since I live near that Walmart, I used to go there all the time. Not anymore. It used to be a semi-decent place where people can go and shop in peace. That's not the case now. There's so many people that visit there and they don't seem to have any respect towards the store. It's a mess. True Story. Promise. During my last visit to pick up some staples, I wandered into the feminine hygiene isle. I observed the following. Like all good reporters, I will report only details and omit any subjective data. Middle aged woman, wheelchair bound, slightly unkempt. Yet still flexible enough to bend over and smell her "lady parts." This exercise elicited a "phew wee" and a waving of the hand to clear the stinky aftersmell. She then took the liberty to take a can of Summer's Eve off the shelf to freshen herself up. Afterwards, she placed the cap back on the said feminine spray and placed it back on the shelf for the next customer. Walmart has a long, documented history of stories like these. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near a Target and have to make do with what I'm given. This store isn't much different from others. It has lots of stuff and a decent, easy to understand layout. It's impossible to find an employee to help you locate a well-hidden item. And plan to be in the check-out lane for at least 20 minutes. But, after all, it is a Walmart. Hi WALMART.... We recently were shopping at a location in Phoenix AZ. When we got home we noticed we were double charge for two items. We then went back to the store and they refused to reimburse us for the double charges until they review their camera! We felt as though we were treated as criminals! We waited for twenty mins as they questioned the cashier and "reviewed the tapes" The employee t hen told us that the only person that could review the tapes was out and we needed to either wait 30min to see if he was back or come back at a later time! Now we must pack up our 2 month old and drive another 15 mins to come back and see if we will be reimburse for items we did not receive. Needless to say mistakes happen, all well... but poor customer service does not need to. We will not longer seek to be a customer of walmart's. read more

Walmart's prices for a lot of things really can't be beat, especially now that Tarzhay has gotten so upscale and features designer items. If you want the basics - cosmetics, paper towels, cleaning products, soda - you really will find some of the most competitive pricing around, and that's why I keep going back. That being said, I can't stand a lot of things about Walmart. The selection for decor items is really small, and a lot of things - especially things on sale - are always out of stock. I went all the way there to get litter and a litter scoop and they didn't have my brand of litter or any scoops left. Also, many products - including but not limited to razor blades and many types of alcohol - are not on the shelves due to theft prevention. You have to go to aisle 16 to buy them, which is super-inconvenient because that is also the express lane. I still haven't been able to figure out what happens if you have more than 15 items and need to buy razor blades or Sauza tequila (one of the brands that apparently doesn't stay on the shelves). Do you have to check out twice? Ah, well, to be fair, I guess the only way they can keep the prices down is by keeping people from over-utilizing the five-finger discount. It is what it is, and as long as it stays cheap, I'll be back! read more

My truck is making horrible noises and I need an oil change close by. I'm trying to call their automotive service department because for whatever reason their hours just can't be put on their webpage. I call up and Rachel Jeantel asks how she can direct my call as she stumbles over the name of the store. I ask for the automotive service center and the phone starts ringing again. The phone rings for another 10 - 20 times and then Rachel Jeantel answers again and again stumbles over the name of the store. I tell her that I'm still waiting to speak to someone in automotive and she says "oh, hold on. Let me see who is here." Then the line goes dead silent. I put the call on speaker and listened to dead silence for another 12 minutes before hanging up. I didn't bother calling back. I've been in their automotive service department several times for batteries. There's never anyone at the counter and the employees walk in and out of the area without bothering to acknowledge your presence. There's a doorbell on the wall to get someones attention in the garage but you might as well just smack yourself in the head for all the good it does. I can understand if one item was in the wrong place, but to have the entire product listed under the incorrect price? This has happened so much that I've learned to look at the UPC and re-read the item description. Coupled with the long lines and limited open registers- who has time for that? Consider yourself warned. There is NOTHING, seriously NOTHING you need that is gonna be worth the time your gonna spend in line at this walmart. As a few other reviews mentioned, if you went to get a particular item i.e.-Deodorant,toothpaste 9 times out of 10 that item you NEED won't be in stock. This Walmart is NOTORIOUS for that, really. I've never had bad experiences with employees however. It just sucks that life could be so much easier if you could get in and out and get what your family needs but that doesn't typically happen at this location :( read more

I only go to this Wal-Mart because its close to my home. If I could I would go to the one all the way in Mesa/Tempe area. First off if you are seeking something specific...make sure you check online to see if they even carry it in that specific store. I have came here many times with high hopes to come to find out they are "out of stock." I dislike the fact when you go get make-up, you have to squeeze through customers to get into the make-up aisle and then once you finally get inside; there isn't a variety of makeup to choose from. I feel like everyone is my completion when I go to get foundation or face powder. Good thing I found a another store that sells makeup for almost 80% (shhh cant tell u my secrets) And the lines...Oh My gosh! You will be waiting for at least 30 mins just to check out. If you're lucky you can get to the 10 items or less cashier (if they are even open) or go to the jewelry check out. Sometimes they are nice like that if you have 10 items or less. This Wal-Mart is in a bad area as well. Every time I come here to shop...cops are ALWAYS on site. People are silly for even trying to steal but they do it anyways. We went in to pick up my truck there was no one in line behind us, we were rung up by Robert the manger at the Oil Lube change, he gave us our total and we told him we were also dropping off a second truck. He said we could pay for the one we were picking up but had to get in the back of the line to drop off the 2nd truck. I told him "but wrve uwt to pay you, we are in the middle of our transactions" he said he had to help other customers, because by now a couple of other people had walked in. I said why would we be limited to one transaction, he said because he had other customers to help. I said but youre not done with helping me. I said that makes no sense, youre telling me I gotta get in line for each transaction...at this time Jehovanny walked past and Robert said to him "hey can you help her" and shunned me away. Robert was Disrespectful and Rude I cannot believe his behavior as a Manager. Jehovanny was courteous. I read all your responses, I will definitely be reaching out to the store management and via the corporate office and the online portal. Expired yogurt, milk, and cheese. My God. These are 3 major things that spoil faster than anything else and are major items in pretty much 90% of your clientele. Have someone go through and check it. Isn't there a stock list printed out each day of things that need to be turned over? The milk and fruit juice I was looking at had expired November 27th. Dude. That was a month ago. Worst Service!!! My repair shop said the battery doesn't have enough cranking power that's why it doesn't always start. I tried calling Walmart automotive before going there to make sure they had battery in stock but no one answers- my battery is only 1 1/2 years old. Finally I had someone take me to store with battery at 3 pm before they close at 6pm. I told the manager they don't pick up phone there he agreed said he didn't doubt no one will answer. (3 associates at registers only one register checking people out) Manger promised someone would call after they tested it because I had a good 2 hour wait because they had other batteries to check. I went home but no call and no one answered when I tried! Tried again calling today No answer! I finally called Corporate office and they tried calling store with no answer. I was just in there buying a Mini Fridge and I only had my newborn in a stroller, I asked if I could get some help and the girl that helped me was very nice, but the associate Melvin or Marvin who helped me was so rude! He acted like I was an inconvenience to help, he rung me up and then waited for me to get my car to put it in, well it didn't fit and he was again rude about it, again seemed like that was a waste of his time. I told him I wouldn't be able to pick it until tomorrow and he said we don't usually do holds and said that with attitude, I told him I can't really come in again to get a refund because I have my newborn in the car. He said he would hold it for me, but didn't even ask for my information so I said well do you want my name, he was like sure. Well now I'm at home, trying to call the store for the last 30 minutes and no one is answering the phones. I want to make sure my $150 purchase is put somewhere safe and to let them know what my mama is and will be there tomorrow. This is probably the best Walmart I've been to personally. But with that said it's still bad. On one shopping trip the employees decided it was a good idea to inform people after they unloaded all of their groceries on the conveyor belt that EBT was not working. I heard a customer tell the girl at the resister that she should probably tell people in line that EBT was not working and the girl just said "meh" and kept the line moving. And of course, having people put the stuff back in the carts after being informed held up the lines. At least on another trip, they were nice enough to announce it over the PA every few minutes. Nothing is ever in stock. The makeup section is awful. You'd think they could send some employees just standing around in aisles doing nothing to go stock. By the way, if you're a customer and you bring your cart into the makeup aisle, please find the nearest Lego and stomp on it. You deserve that. There is hardly any room for bodies to roam in that aisle, let alone your damn cart! Just leave it near the register, no one should take it! When it comes to Walmart, I find that it's not worth getting angry at employees because more than likely you will never see them again. Sometimes it's because of garbage managers, sometimes it's people who don't want to work for their paycheck. I will defend Walmart employees when it comes to the alcohol thing. I know people hate being carded and sometimes there is a situation where an employee might refuse the sale if all people in the group do not have their ID's. A lot of people don't realize how serious the consequences are for selling alcohol to a miner or allowing a sale to go through for someone who looks drunk/intoxicated. Sometimes the po-po have nothing better to do and they do alcohol stings with underage people. If an employee falls for one of these stings, they get fired, a court date with fines and possible jail time. It's no joke. Don't hate them, hate the system. It's a meh location when it's not full. It's a 10 minute drive from my house so it's convenient. Not much else to say. read more
