This particular Walmart is not in fact a Supercenter. And if they really are, there wasn't anything out front that tells the customer this. The sign simply says: "Walmart". It is located on Indian land and they do not allow you to park RVs overnight in their parking lot (a policy that all other Walmarts are known to allow). We found ourselves face-to-face with security at 2 a.m. as we pulled into Reno and needed a safe place to sleep in our car. Parking here is a chore and I almost got in a wreck getting out of the lot. Whoever designed this didn't do a very good job. But that's not my main complaint. The socks I bought the last time I was here are already useless after only five washings. Surprisingly enough, this really was a four star visit. Honestly, it is all for the adorable woman at the hot foods counter who saved my butt when I realized I had not defrosted anything for dinner. This was my next best shot! She was quick to help me and very polite while doing so. I wasn't sure Walmart employees could do either of those things with a smile on their face and chit-chatting about their day. She was an absolute gem. The downside to this visit was the lack of cashiers. This is a constant, nagging problem that ALL of the Walmarts in the area seem to suffer from. I have a love/hate relationship with Walmart. Love: It is open late and convenient for those trips where you need to stock up on snacks or get that one "thing" you forgot to pack. Hate: That "one thing" turns into 30 "things", snacks, socks, seasonal items, cotton balls, and you are $100 poorer thinking how did I just spend $100. The lines can get crazy too, but thank goodness for self checkout. Well this Walmart trip turned into a $200 trip. Upside, we won't need snacks or drinks for awhile. I like this location because everything is clean, well organized, and stocked. It doesn't feel dirty or unorganized like some Walmart locations where they are stocking in the middle of the aisle and you are inconveniencing yourself (and the workers) by trying to walk around their palettes of inventory while trying to shop. Another plus at this location is that they even have shelves of alcohol open and available which is convenient for you alkies to just grab your drink of choice off the shelf, as opposed to having to find someone to unlock a cabinet. read more

This is by far one of the worst Walmarts I have ever been into. The worst part about that is it's one of the newest Walmarts placed in the Reno Nevada area. However, anything really going for this is the easy convenience and location of the Walmart. Let's start with the parking lot, even though the parking lot seems to be OK you get those oak Asian all customers who don't know how to park in the park in the middle of the road to load the groceries. There are shopping carts normally either in the middle of the street or in the parking space that you want to park in. When walking in there so many people at the customer service that they have to spread out and you can't even enter the building without having to move people and buy that they're pushing other people to get out of your way. Each time I try and get help here some of the staff try to avoid you as much as possible. But like I said the only thing the Walmart has going for him is the easy convenient location, and the supplies that they stock. Another good thing is during holidays they usually have some pretty good deals, but normally the rest of the Walmarts have the same exact pricing during the holidays. read more

Ive had to come for a pick up for door das twice now. I've waited over a half hour only to find out there not doing pick up orders there system is down. So now two days in a row I have lost money on my dashes. You need to let people know your not doing pick up at this time. If I could give this no stars I would. The most disorganized and dysfunctional establishment I have ever been to. I have witnessed not once but twice now, checkout lines literally out the door of the store. I have worked in a grocery business before and believe me, IT'S NOT HARD TO OPEN MORE REGISTERS!! This place looks as if products have been thrown in carts in random aisles to avoid stocking and aisles are about an inch apart. Not the best Walmart in Reno. You know that website "People of Walmart"? Well it looks like all the photos could have been taken at this one. Lots of people with neck and face tattoos, fat people in those scooters entering and exiting the wrong way, and people cursing at the clerks at the return line for not giving a refund because the person had no ID or receipt (yes just saw this). The parking lot is awful especially on a cold night since it is right next to the freeway (you feel more wind here). I also felt like I could get mugged in the parking lot! That being said, they do have many express lines which actually were open. I am not sure if I was more excited of my free nights at Grand Sierra or shopping at this Walmart once I discovered it was right across the street from the resort. Walkable (but perhaps not the best idea in the cold winter months). This Walmart is conveniently located and has a huge parking lot. It's a super center which means it has a bakery, photo center, and fresh produce. There is ample selection at very affordable prices. The employees for the most part were friendly. I had one bag egg cashier who scanned one of my items and refused to acknowledge that the price was wrong. I complained at the customer service area and the women behind the counter promptly apologized and returned the difference in my toothbrush purchase. After the holidays, this location has a great selection of markdowns and clearance items. For instance, I bought a $2 wig and $1 tights post Halloween. Fast and efficient checkouts. Tons of cashiers. Some support on the sales floor (which is above average and normal for Walmart). TIP: Don't want to pay for ATM and have a discover card? Went to the WalMart on 2nd. st. in Reno, NV. today @ 10:30. Got about 17 items and went to the front. There were 6 checkers and a line of 8 people in each line. I went to the front and left my stuff with the greater. If you care so little about your customers, then do not ask why your sales are down. Ridiculously long lines here, even really late at night! They'll have maybe 2 registers open and can't seem to be able to open more, even though there's a line that's 5 miles long. It's also hard to access and leave this Walmart with the way they set up the parking lot and surrounding roads. There's basically only one exit and entrance. You will have to deal with lots of cross traffic when exiting the main parking lot--be prepared to sit for quite some time before you have a chance to get out. read more

This is my 3rd Super Walmart that I have been too. We don't have any where I live. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the new location off the freeway next to Grand Sierra. As I drove in there is this loop that takes you around to park your car. The store seemed dark and depressing. This store has some terrible employees that have the worst customer service skills, (wearing the yellow vest carrying a radio device around) she was absolutely no help at all around 11:00-11:30 yesterday....lost my car key in that store, she could care less and boy did she show it, not even enough to use her radio to assist...There are some good employees there but mostly ones like her she was just the latest employee to suck at that Walmart on 2nd st. Actually it's not just this Walmart it's all of the Walmart's in Reno! I use the app to place orders for delivery and I make sure they are available for delivery and then when I go to checkout most everything says available for shipping within 3 days. Why show that items can be delivered when they can't? This makes absolutely no sense! I'm stuck in a motel because my car broke down just before Christmas and the parts have been delayed because of the roads/weather. Walmart delivery has been of no help whatsoever. My first delivery had substitutions of most items that weren't even close to what I ordered but I was lucky that the driver who delivered it took them back to the store for me and I was refunded. I've done chats through the website but I'm sure things won't change. I'm glad I'm only on the free trial for 30 days because I would never ever pay for this shoddy service! read more

This morning as I began checking out at self checkout, lost prevention stopped a man for shoplifting who had a receipt for everything in his cart. The man got angry, started yelling, so lost prevention rep called the man a b*tch. Several other employees got in the man's face including a short woman. They led the man outside when he kicked a trash can knocking the lid off and into my leg hurting it. The manager on duty named Garrett didn't want to do anything about my injury. No report or anything. I said I spend a lot of money here. His reply was, a lot of people do. I told him it is the responsibility of him and his staff to protect their customers. His reply was for me to shop at a different store. I asked if he feels he can just toss away customers like that? His reply was to get out of his store. Despite people's hatred for Walmart this location has served me well every time I come to Reno, which is quite often especially with all the free nights from Grand Sierra. If you're overly intoxicated and need more booze and can't drive, well you can simply walk from your hotel. It's literally across the street and a car isn't necessary but will save you some time. The primary reason I come to this Walmart is to stock up on booze at Walmart prices. You can expect are you typical Walmart departments. In addition to boozing up, there's plenty of food and snacks that you can stock up on, especially as the store looks rather new and stocks well in every department. My sister-in-law said this is the ghetto Walmart of Reno, but I've yet to experience anything ghetto about it. This Walmart suites me just fine. If there's homeless guy, which I've yet to see, simply don't give them any money. Simple as that. Walmart on E. 2nd. Street, near GSR, in Reno 89502, does NOT have an ADA handicap Toilet in any of their restrooms. They have a Handicap Stall, but the toilet is not ADA & is basically on the FLOOR. Even the family restroom toilet is great for a CHILD. How did they "get away with not having an ADA Toilet, as this is a new Building. So if you are handicap, GO TO ANOTHER WALMART. read more

This Wal-Mart sucks, the Baby formula is locked up behind security glass (which tells you it's a sketchy place anyway). I waited 1 hour for someone to open the security glass to get formula. The workers kept telling me I'll get someone to open it for you, then they could not find the keys! Finally when they opened the security glass, the supervisor told me "sorry, it was hard to track the keys because the we are preparing to close the store". Preparing to close the store at 9:30? They don't close till midnight, I could see if I came last minute but this was completely un-satisfactory. The only reason we actually got someone to finally attend to us is because another customer that came in personally knew a supervisor and decided to call her on a cellphone. Afterward they escort the formula to the register like if your a criminal. If they are goin to lock up the formula, they might as well be a tad more efficient by keeping the formula at the register so that someone is always there. I have so many more complaints about this place, but this is the one that pickles my walnuts the most. read more

FINALLY a brand spankin' new Walmart that I don't have to pay $60 in cab fare to get home from plus it's right next to the GSR so I can hit it on the way home from the Sports Book. Hey it's even clean and has a huge selection of groceries, deli section even. It's open 24 HOURS A DAY as well. A few weeks back my old monitor died in the middle of the night and i ran over here & picked up a brand new widescreen for less then $100 bucks. Say what you will about Walmart being slumming but I am not even close to a millionaire. So eff u if you don't like it. Has a Mickey Dee's even (dont know if that's open 24 hrs yet tho). Only thing is the checker's put like 2 items in a bag so I have ended up with like 47 bags. I usually repack the stuff sitting on the bench outside. Oh yeh it's CLEAN TOO. This Walmart is the biggest pain in the butt. Their shelves are bare in the morning. The employees are overworked, mistreated & rightfully angry. The McDonalds in this place has possibly the worst sausage McMuffin in town. Its all burned. I personally only eat the fries and hash browns here. Customer service is slow. A walmart located right next to the grand sierra hotel. Very convenient if you forgot to bring something on your trip to reno. They also have a mcdonalds inside for shoppers looking for a quick and cheap bite. I wanted to buy the "trust me I'm a doctor" t shirt but they ran out unfortunately. When I first entered the parking lot I thought this plaza was a shopping center but it the entire walmart took up the entire plaza. Overall a good place to shop. read more

Brand spanking new Wal-Mart across the street from Grand Sierra Resort Casino. Convenient and easy to get to since it is off of freeway 395. I went here after eating buffet at Grand Sierra Resort and pick up some random stuff. This place is large and its 24hours. Practically get anything you need at this store. They have dedicated sections for grocery store and a different section for clothes. -Parking- Parking is available and the lot is huge. read more

I think one of the best things about staying at the Grand Sierra Resort is the proximity of this Walmart to it. The Walmart is conveniently located right across the street, which is awesome if you forget to pack something or if you want food/alcohol and don't want to pay the higher resort prices. This Walmart is also very clean and organized, which makes for a great shopping experience. I dropped by yesterday and everything was very well stocked. Check-out was also fast and efficient. II attempted to use the pickup service to buy a refrigerator for my college student. Ordered the refrigerator over a week prior to our moving in date. The Walmart employee came out for the delivery and smirkily stated that they don't have my refrigerator. When I questioned what happened, she said she's busy and has to go. I came here last night knowing it would be open and I wanted to shop without the crowds of daytime in most stores. I never gave it much thought as to when they stock the store and this is the time of day they do it. Even though there was a lot of stock waiting to be shelved they had it under control as to where one can navigate around. Each isle had someone stocking and each time I came to the isle I was greeted by the stocker and asked if they could assist me in finding what I needed. I was surprised at the courtesy shown. The only drawback I can see in shopping at this time of day is the other customers. There was in comparison to the amount of shoppers too many younger girls dressed it the tackiest clothing designed to show off their personal bad choices of tattoos while going up and down the isles making ever effort of being loud and using every profanity their little minds could muster. I feel sorry for the employees having to deal with this, those who think themselves clever, but only barely rise above human garbage. read more
