I needed a new battery and I first took my Casio G-Shock to a shop near my house. They damaged the watch mechanics and the watch no longer worked. I took it to Thomas, who immediately could see the issue and he set out to fix the tiny parts that had been damaged. When it became apparent it was not an easy fix, I told Thomas not to bother spending any more time on it. The time he was going to put into it wouldn't be worth it on a $100 watch. But he wanted to fix it anyway, for the original "new battery" price he quoted. He's the kind of person who prides himself on doing a good job, and once he opened the watch, he didn't want to give up. I had to insist he quit, and accept the $25 I originally agreed to. Even though he spent time on the watch, he refused the money, telling me he hated to see me leave without my watch working. I have a bunch of watches, but my first nice watch (a gift from my now wife) was a Sinn 556 - and it means a lot to me. Sinn is not the most well known brand in the world, but respected by watch people. There's only one authorized service shop in the US. I had my watch serviced there before and they charged a fortune. So recently when the watch stopped working I decided to try a local repair person. Based on proximity & reviews I took it to Tom at Watch Doc - I was a little nervous and asked if he was familiar with the brand/movement - he said not to worry, that he actually works on Sinn chronographs. He took a look at the watch, brought it to his bench, and tried a quick fix of tightening a couple screws, and got it running again. He sent me one my way - telling me to monitor whether or not it ran fast/slow, and that if it stopped working properly it would need a closer look... well, it stopped working a few days later so I brought it back and he did a full service on it for a fair price (no one tells you when you get a nice watch about the price of maintenance!). The turnaround was only a couple days - and it works flawlessly now. Would highly recommend this shop. read more

I couldn't adjust the time and date on my grandmother's watch because the crown kept falling off. I talked to Doc over the phone and he said maybe the stem that is connected to the crown might have broke.
