Eastside was straight forward with their pricing and were very responsive during the estimation process. I explained to Drew that they would be remodeling the bathroom with our only shower, and he was sure to squeeze us in in order to expedite the process. Overall the project was well managed - because we were out our shower, Drew was focused on getting us a shower as quick as possible, something my wife certainly appreciated! The team, including all of the sub-contractors that Drew brought in were skilled at their job and friendly. The bathroom looks great - it is honestly the nicest looking room in our house now. My wife shows everyone the bathroom!

I don't remember who I spoke to but I do remember that he said I would likely not choose them because they wouldn't be the cheapest. I don't know how or why he came to that conclusion in our brief phone conversation, but I told him I wasn't looking for the "cheapest", I was looking for the best solution. He scheduled a visit and did some measurements and we discussed possible options. I also let him know I was interested in kitchen redesign so that I could have a bigger fridge but he didn't seem interested and just went back to the powder room. When he was done, he said it would take about two weeks for a quote but I may need to reach out to him again. I asked if he had a card and he said no, then left. That was on June 11 and now it's July 28. If a business wants my business, they would send a quote. Maybe my little job isn't worth their time because business is booming, who knows. When your gut tells you they aren't interested, listen to your gut.

Attention to details lacking. Promises broken resulting in delay of installation…read more Asked multiple times before start of project for a crew to come out (at least 2 people) to ensure timely installation within 2 day window of time promised. We were assured by Salesperson and Manager that a full crew would be sent. Day of installation, only one installer showed up with only his personal pick up, which could not hold all needed supplies. I had to assist the tech and use our own hand truck and dolly to remove the tub. Tech ( very nice young man who, as it turns out, had only been with the company for a month) had to keep leaving to go to Home Depot for supplies which delayed his work. There were multiple issues with his not being able to connect with the company's supply depot and get all needed materials for the punch list. Due to these delays and only having 1 tech, the 2 day project turned into 4 . Could not take a shower until morning of 5th day! Also, noticed prior to installation that installation diagram had shower caddy in wrong corner. Again, told this to Salesperson and Manager Prior to the start of the project. Plans were not corrected. We told the tech at the start of the 3rd day of installation that the plans he had were wrong and the shower caddy needed to be installed at rear corner not the front. At end of day after all installation was completed, when he asked for review of his work, the caddy had been installed at the front corner, not the back as had been discussed multiple times! The next morning we discovered multiple areas where there were gaps of caulking missing , including a 4 inch length with no caulk at all!! You could put a credit card in the gap. The Tech had to come back on a 4th day ( his day off) to take care of all the missed areas of caulking. We discovered the shower curtain rod is too low and too far in on day 5. Had to install a second shower curtain rod ourselves at the correct height and depth. Overall not the experience we were hoping for or were promised. Materials seem OK, and we are so glad to be rid of the old tub, but would not recommend using a company that doesn't deliver what it promised.

We bought unbuilt cabinets and had a contractor family/friends do the install. they look awesome. Sophie at Pius actually drew out the cabinet plans and they came out amazing. My only negative (which doesn't effect their rating for me) is that the pick up process from their warehouse is annoying - they have one worker processing the pickups who was very unprofessional. nonetheless, can't wait to use them again.

Vlad was outstanding to work with--an excellent communicator, incredibly responsive, creative, and a true perfectionist. He suggested design improvements that made our kitchen even better than we had envisioned, and we're so glad we trusted his expertise. One of his ideas was to create decorative medallions in our back patio to replace broken tile inserts rather than simply replacing the damaged tiles. The result is stunning and has become one of our favorite features. He also suggested replacing our front entry with the same Dekton material we used in the kitchen, tying everything together beautifully. It looks absolutely fabulous. On the few occasions we chose to stick with our original plan, he graciously respected our decision and executed it perfectly.Vlad and his team took tremendous pride in their work, paid close attention to every detail, treated our home with care, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Selling my condo so had to update both kitchen, bath and separate vanity cabinets and countertops…read more I went to all the usual companies for quotes (Sanyuan, GS, A1, Pius etc) and made a crazy spreadsheet comparing them. 1st Ave came in second cheapest (GS was the cheapest). I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.
