Best ceviche and aguachile I've had in my life so far. It's fresh, flavors are on point, and is perfect for these hot San Francisco days. I am so glad I found this place next to my work. Service is fast and friendly. Beautiful interior, have eaten at both the bar and a side table. I came here 2 days ago but had to come back again because it is so good! Will probably come back again real soon to try more. Had the shrimp/octopus mixto ceviche with mango and pineapple. Absolutely delicious. Sour, sweet, hot, salty. Everything you would want. Had the shrimp aguachile today. Tart, spicy, creamy, overall fantastic. Great meal and will be back very shortly. read more

Dolores Michelada Waterfall is THE best place in San Francisco for micheladas, ceviche, and bajo-style shrimp tacos! This spot has consistently delivered outstanding food and drinks every single time we've visited. The micheladas are always spot-on, the ceviche is fresh and flavorful, and the shrimp tacos are simply unbeatable. The service here is super nice and friendly, making every visit a pleasure. Stopped here for a quick and small bite to eat for lunch on the weekend. I got the Baja fish taco. It took about 10 minutes or so to come out. The fish was crispy, light and flaky, and not at all dry or overly greasy. Great overall flavor for the taco. Big portion for 1 taco. Service was friendly. I'll definitely be back to try more of their tacos and ceviche! read more

I LOVE Waterfall and couldn't wait to visit when they opened. Matter of fact, we were some of the first customers in this cute little storefront restaurant. I love the aquachiles, micheladas and the fish tacos. Since we come back and bring family and friends each time, I have almost had everything on the menu. My favorites are the Verde Aguachile, Mango Habanero Aguachile, Mixed Ceviche and Coconut Ceviche. I also love the lunch specials for $12, you get either: - One fish taco and ceviche - Two shrimp tacos and ceviche The food is fresh, flavorful and delicious. The interior is so warm and welcoming and the micheladas are a lot of fun. Also, the couple that owns and runs this place are very nice and hardworking people, I would love to see them suceed. read more

This is my favorite place to get micheladas... ever. Definitely get the waterfall michelada ($12) or the shrimp ceviche michelada ($17 and the ceviche and michelada are separated of course). They also bring you free chips and a spicy aioli to dip the chips in. Food: -Fish tacos ($5 each) my brother and boyfriend love these. Crispy fish and a spicy aioli sauce with some cabbage-- what's not to love? -Tuna Ceviche -- delicious! -Shrimp Ceviche -- a classic must get. -Crispy shrimp tacos ($10) -- comes with 3 crispy fried shrimp paste tacos. Cool little spot with great drinks. Food was pretty good, had the fish tacos... although they weren't so much tacos but more of a tostada but on a raw corn tortilla. Service was lacking as our server was outside talking on the phone most of my visit and had to get up and ask the bartender anytime I needed anything (water, napkins, the check) read more

Came by this place for an evening date night! I was super excited about the aguachile. Everything was good - from the sauce that came with the complimentary chips to the aguachile and service. That day, they also had tacos that they were serving upfront! I didn't get to try it, but would like to another time! The michelada was good. We get to choose the beer and it's a generous portion. The only thing is that the candy got soggy during the dinner, so drink up fast! Aguachile was really flavorful! The presentation was nice too. read more

Fun vibey casual restaurant with a variety of drinks and seafood. There were only two people working on a Friday night, so service was a little slow but there weren't many tables either. We loved the drinks which were tasty without being too sweet. The three of us opted for the seafood combo meal; everything on it was delicious, and there was a nice variety between the raw and fried food. It was big enough to leave us super full since they also refilled our chips/queso a few times. A nice place to stop by for drinks and seafood! read more

I'll never eat ceviche anywhere else unless I'm on the coast of Mexico. No, seriously. That's how good this place is that nowhere else is worth paying my good money for less than this. This is real ceviche. How it's supposed to be. The ladies make some good drinks here and the vibe is spirited with good music and even better food. Delicious michelada and shrimp taco. I came here on a Saturday with a friend for a drink and light bites. We tried their mango margarita as well that was sooo delicious! Shrimp taco was wonderful. I want to come back here and try more of their food. Staff was friendly too and you definitely see that it's a neighborhood place where regulars come. read more

3.5 stars I am not a taco purist, but Waterfall tacos have an excessive amount of toppings & sauces going on. I actually liked the light & flakey batter on the Baja fish & shrimp so I tossed the garnish-heavy tortillas & enjoyed myself a fried seafood platter, of sorts. Order of guacamole was good & fresh. My group tried the healthier elements off the menu, ceviche & aguachile, but they didn't give an enthusiastic evaluation. Nothing blew our minds on this first go-round, but a restaurant that serves micheladas & fresh seafood deserves another shot, maybe in the summertime. read more

This spot is adorable and serves the most amazing and fresh seafood! My partner doesn't like seafood so when he was busy one day I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and try this place out by myself, and I'm sooo glad I did! Since I was alone but still wanted to couple different things, I ordered one of the lunch sets (It was actually dinnertime, but they said it was fine). The one I picked came with a fish taco and a small shrimp ceviche (which came with tortilla chips) and they were both amazing. The ceviche was mindblowingly good and I found myself basically drinking the leftover leche de tigre at the end. Everything was incredibly fresh, I was very impressed. I didn't get the michelada but I'll definitely have to try it next time! read more

Looove this place! Delicious ceviche and aguachile, delicious tacos. Seafood is clearly high quality. Great service. Lovely ambiance. I especially love that they keep El Yucateco habanero and xxx spicy hot sauce on the tables. So much more delicious and spicy as compared with other typical brands. My only complaint/suggestion: the tortillas used for the tacos were a bit dry. Also, it would be terrific if there were Giants games on the TVs. Love this spot and can't wait to come back! read more

Ceviche and Michelada anyone? While researching places to eat in San Francisco, I stumbled upon this Cevicheria. They're known for their delicious Michelada Ceviche! The Michelada came with a lot of ceviche! And I like how they designed the cup to hold the ceviche! Eating the ceviche, it tasted fresh, well seasoned, and delicious! Everything was cut into nice pieces, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the chips with the ceviche were a great combo! Overall, the food was great! ** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Dolores Waterfall. Doesn't that name sound like a glamorous femme fatale in a film noir murder mystery set in Buenos Aires? I picture her with flaming red hair with legs up to there as she seduces down-on-his-luck gumshoe Nick Niagara only to get shot between the eyes. However, I think this Dolores is a reference to the park, and the owner's name is Leonardo Flores. Despite the oppressive challenges posed by the pandemic, he managed to grow his business from a beverage cart to a Potrero Avenue shop that sells his handmade micheladas and cevicheladas. I look forward to visiting his shop for a true cevichelada, which is a cup of michelada topped by tortilla chips and ceviche. I got 2/3 of that with the $18 Mix Ceviche, a tantalizing combination of shrimp, octopus, scallops, mango, cucumber, and red onion. Perhaps it was more than 2/3 because it was all marinated in something that reminded me of shrimp cocktail but in a good way (photo: https://bit.ly/3sUDgmP). The idea is great, storefront location on the corner across from General hospital. But they deliver to your home after a certain price AND to dolores park. How great is that! Micheladas was good. The toppings had a good mix of mango, cucumber and shrimp with some chips. The presentation is definitely IG worthy. In terms of the aguachiles, we tried 2. Verde and Rojo. You can pick chips or tostadas which they do not skimp on. I appreciate that 1 of the orders was made less spicy for me who can't do too much heat. Overall enjoyed it, wish we had a bigger serving not because it's tiny at all but just because we wanted more! read more

I always get the same two things when I go to Waterfall, because I like them so much. Their shrimp ceviche is loaded with mango, and is so flavorful and fresh. Their fish taco is just wonderful. Super-fresh tasting fish freshly fried and totally non-greasy. And loaded with veggies on top, much too much to pick up and eat. I eat some of the toppings until it's a manageable amount to pick up. And that's a good thing! They have a wide array of bottled hot sauces on the tables to choose from, many that I've never seen before. read more

Stopped by this place without planning and I will definitely be back. The tacos held up a 30 minute ride without the shrimp getting soggy and the aguachile has a perfect balance of all ingredients. I'll try their dirty horchata shot next time! read more

This place is so good! My friend and I stumbled upon it on accident and thank God we did. Best fish tacos for a great prices... Micheladas looked great too. Aguachiles were bomb and actually spicy! We loved them. The customer service was friendly and willing to answer questions. Only critique: Maybe for takeout, package the tortillas separately because they begin to fall apart. Ceviche on a rather hot San Fran day hit the spot! It was the music that drew me in and then the menu! The owners/cooks were very humble, down-to-earth folks who made the space feel very homey like we were at a small get-together with the homies! Though I was solo dolo on a SF adventure , I felt a part of the community upon entrance. The food tasted fresh! Sometimes it is difficult with seafood because of poor preservation practices. The ceviche was bomb! Just wish I had more in my bowl! I appreciated that this place was not stingy with shrimp! Excited to try this place (I love seafood), but was a little disappointed. Ordered the shrimp ceviche and fish tacos, but only the shrimp ceviche came. Shrimp ceviche was OK - not as fresh as expected and under-seasoned. Wanted more spice and flavor, so added all 3 types of hot sauces at the table, but it was still missing something. The lasting impression would be the chef (who took my order) trying to charge me for the fish tacos when my server told the him that it never came out. I…read moregoogled them, took one look at the cioppino and it was official: I KNEW what I wanted for my birthday. I talked about going to this place for weeks. Finally the day was upon us. I had called ahead to check on the foot traffic and to determine the best time to get there. As they open at 11:30, after speaking with someone over the phone the week before, my wife and I determined the best time to get there was 12:30pm, they don't take reservations for parties of 2. We arrived, saw they already had a wait but were on the list by 12:30pm. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes. No problem. We received the buzzer from them and walked around the block and ended up two restaurants down the street around 12:50pm. At 1:09pm, the buzzer still hadn't gone off and my wife, who went in initially to put us on the list, went back in to check on the status of our table. At the host stand, she heard the manager tell a woman who clearly didn't have a reservation she would be sat in 3 minutes. After hearing that, my wife showed the manager the buzzer we had been given and asked, "So how much longer for us?" The manager replied "It may be another 10 minutes." We then watched them scramble to clear a table and immediately give the table to the woman who had arrived after us. Upon this disappointment we decided to leave because if they can't get something simple like seating guests respectfully right, I can only imagine what else they'll screw up. People don't remember what you do... They remember how you made them feel. As a hospitality professional, not only was this experience totally unavoidable but it left me feeling disrespected and not valued - as a customer; as a person. In being honest, I have to mention that, oddly enough, as I looked around during this disappointment I noticed that everyone seated and being rapidly seated were of one particular ethnic group. Everyone waiting was part of various minority groups which made this incident even more sickening - reinforcing our decision to not only choose to spend our money somewhere else on that day, but to never spend any money there... EVER. I was extremely excited to visit this place and to be shown this kind of treatment further proves that there are still some places that don't want minority dollars so much they simply don't care how they treat you. And unfortunately for them, I'm certainly sharing this experience with as many visitors to the city as I can letting them know "There a MANY fine places to eat in the city... but I'll tell you where NOT to go - unless you feel like being treated like a second-class citizen." Please check in with your personal values before choosing to support this place. Sotto Mare... you all really need to invest in some cultural sensitivity training. It's 2026. Highly disappointed.

Our waitress was very sweet, cheerful and helpful when we could catch her attention. But as I said a 15 minute training exercise each evening before starting work would work wonders. Like look around each customer every time you are not doing anything. And the more senior staff member was just uninterested and perhaps a little grumpy. So the food was blah, more flavor in the broth would help, and ok but at today's prices a "dinner out" has to be about more than just the food.

Dumplings: We got the XLB, spicy chili wonton appetizer, shrimp and squash, numb and spicy XLB, and pan fried dumplings. All of these were good but the ones I will remember are the numb and spicy XLB and the pan fried dumplings. The pan fried dumplings are more bite sized and easier to eat than normal. They look cute and I felt less soup is wasted. If you like mildy spicy and numbing the XLB is unique and so good I had to help finish off the last one even though I was full.

This is a little long winded, but it concerns being careless about an allergy. I sent Waterfall an email a few days ago to let them know my concerns and never received a response. Here it is below: "Hello, I went to Waterfall and placed an order to go. I informed the person working that my partner was allergic to sesame and asked him to please not use it as a garnish. I ordered - 2 micheladas, 2 ceviches and a guacamole and chips. As I waited for my food I noticed the micheladas had sesame sprinkled on top and asked the server if he could make one with no sesame. He assured me that it was seasoning and not sesame... I figured it might be another type of seed, waited for the rest of my food and met my partner outside in the car. My partner ate a couple seeds from the michelada to test it out and confirmed it was definitely sesame. When I went back to ask the server to make a new one, he again said it was Tajin and not sesame. I was positive he was wrong, but I didn't want to seem rude and was about to walk out when he said he would make a new drink... I thanked him and left. My partner and I went to a park... opened our boxes and both ceviches were covered in black sesame..... I hate to make a fuss, because this was the best ceviche I've ever had, but he couldn't eat it and if he did and didn't notice, he would have been seriously ill. I know this is long winded, but the server not knowing that the ingredients have allergens in them and refusing to believe me when I confirmed the ingredient used was an allergen is really not cool. I'm not looking for free stuff, or an apology, I just want to make sure that the servers know what's in the food and garnishes. I stopped by Waterfall for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Lunch Special #1, which came with a small shrimp ceviche and a fish taco -- both were incredibly fresh mango, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The shrimp ceviche was bright and citrusy, and the fish taco had just the right amount of crunch and seasoning. To top it off, I had a Michelada, which was delicious and refreshing -- just what I needed to round out the meal. What really stood out was the friendly service.
