Date night at capriccio! The atmosphere is second to none and we both love dinning in here! It's been a little since we have been here but it's still as we remember it. Right away we started with the Caesar and calamari. Both were good but nothing that rocked our world. A few tables over a couple ordered the shrimp Scampi which smelt delicious as it was being prepared table side so I decided to get that and my GF got the filet. Her filet was good, it had a red wine glaze sauce on it that was tasty. My dinner wasn't that good, the shrimp was excellent but the scampi sauce itself wasn't doing it for me unfortunately. Our cook who prepared it did a good job entertaining us and our actual server was attentive and did a good job taking care of us for our time at capriccios.

This restaurant has been around for decades and known as one of RI's top romantic restaurants. My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary and it was the most perfect spot to celebrate. The ambiance is intimate, upscale, and classy. They offer valet parking and coat check upon arrival. Service is great, the staff is very attentive and professional. The food was good. The shrimp scampi was made right at the table, offering an amazing presentation and was the WOW factor of the night. The filet had a char on the outside and was cooked perfect in the middle. The sauce on the filet was tasty. I got the Caesar for an app and it came with crushed croutons/bread crumbs on top. The calamari was okay.

We came here for a birthday party last weekend. The building was cute and Ina good location- they had valet service which made things super easy. We arrived 5 minutes early for a 7pm reservation for 18. We were escorted downstairs past the bar into a small back room with circular tables. The service here was fantastic. Our waitress was very genuine . I was disappointed about a preset multi course menu- I don't eat cheese, but the waitress was able to adapt a few things for me. Our drinks came-- and that is when things slowed down. A lot. We were told another birthday party of 40 in another room arrived 1.5 hours late for their reservation that was why our service was backed up. It took an hour to get our appetizers and went downhill from there. It was over 3.5 hours beginning to end- we had to leave before desert was served so took ours to go. I don't know how desert was, as we gave it to a friend--- the only desert we could get to go was tiramisu and we don't care for it. For two dinners, two drinks and tips we were in it for $225. I had to leave my card with my oldest daughter as they will not do seperate checks for a party. I got the veal parm no cheese-- and it was cold . Came with 5 gnocchis. I really didn't enjoy it and left more than half of it there. The house salad was good - and my appetizer was a dish with beets and cheese, just did not cheese and that was probably the best thing of the night. It was a pretty bad experience given this was my first time here-- we generally dine on the hill for Italian. Those in our party that frequent here for dinner stated it was no where near the quality they experienced previously. Other than the great attitude of the wait staff and the cute interior I don't have much else to say that is positive. Given this experience we won't go back.

i had a spectacular experience here. i had never been and it was a place i walked by a million times because my favorite mural is there. my student invited me to graduation dinner, we were a party of 8. our server was soooo sweet and hospitable. he went out of his way to make it a memorable celebration, and he noticed i don't eat pork so he paid special attention to what went on my plate. my student's family did drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. i had tea, grilled oysters, arancini, beef wellington, enjoyed the bread service, finished my friend's beef stroganoff, and tried the chocolate cake, and the cannoli. (listen i'm bulking rn). they literally finished grilling the carrots tableside for my beef wellington so that they are crisp on my plate. i loved the underground luxury feel. so classic. so would return.

I came here for the first time during restaurant week and from the ambiance and service to the quality of the food it was a great experience. The restaurant is cozy and soft lit with white table clothes. Both the waiter and the person pouring water were really attentive and pleasantly chatty. All the food we got from the three course restaurant week menu was delicious. My favorite was probably the arancini. It had good umami and creamy flavors. The surf and turf was also good. I liked the seasoning on the steak and the shrimp were well cooked. The spumoni wasn't the greatest, and my boyfriend who got the cream brûlée, also thought that wasn't the best thing he'd had, so maybe dessert isn't a strong focus. Neither were bad, just a notable difference in quality from the rest of the meal. I don't think there is a dedicated parking lot, but there's a variety of paid garages and lots nearby. We were able to find street parking as well.

Delicious food, impeccable service, and a charming ambience make Capriccios an exceptional dining experience. The large chairs and large menus make you feel like royalty. The music, lighting, and staff all give this place a welcoming vibe. The menu is filled with traditional Italian dishes. I've been coming here consistently for over a decade and the quality of the food has remained top notch. I usually come during restaurant week because you get a three course meal and who can say no to tasty appetizers and delectable desserts.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

Luckily we did make reservation for early dinner so we were able to find parking right away. We got there early so the restaurant wasn't open yet. We took a walk around the Westminster for a bit until the place was open. We were sat down right away. Inside is cozy with dim lights and open kitchen and some tables. They have few outside seating available as well. We started with some appetizer raw fish and combo as well as kohlrabi Caesar. We got black bass and a seasonal fish with combo that included lightly roasted oysters, shrimp and squid. All seafood was directly sourced from local port and fresh. Seafood appetizer was delicious. The caesar was interesting. I've never had kohlrabi but it reminded me of radish and it was tasty. Personally i would have preferred little less salt and olive oil so that flavor of the raw ingredient stand out more but was not too bad. My entree was the seafood risotto. Flavorful risotto with some seafood on top. Was a bit messy to eat because of the shells but was flavorful. The crab and shellfish itself was small and a bit underwhelming but the rice was rich and full of fish flavor. My mother had the cacio e Pepe which was good but she said that nothing comparable to one she had in Rome. I was not a huge fan of the thicker pasta but that's just is personal preference. Service was excellent but the table was a bit small and tight as we were very close to the next table and can hear what others are talking about so not a very privately setting. Overall i did like the place. Food and service were good. But it was not anything exceeding expectation and there were few things that detracted from our experience such as heavy seasonings, small dining space and etc... The price is quite expensive for the amount of food they serve as well. I think it's a good place for special occasions.

I ended up going alone this time, but I came back with enough leftovers and commentary to share that the whole experience could easily be pieced together in anyone's head pretty clearly. The first thing that stands out is the setup. It's casual in the best possible way. Nothing pretentious, nothing overworked. You walk up, order, wait a bit, and then suddenly you've got seafood in a paper tray that somehow tastes like summer even when you're wedged into a busy city block instead of sitting by the water. There's a kind of controlled chaos to it, especially during peak hours, but it moves. I went with the absolute classics without hesitation: a fried fish sandwich and a side of fries, plus a lobster roll that, frankly, looked like it was built for someone who doesn't believe in restraint. The fish sandwich was the standout. Crisp coating, flaky inside, not greasy in that heavy way that ruins a good fry. The bun held together without collapsing into mush, which is always a small victory in a city seafood spot. The fries were solid, nothing revolutionary, but they did their job without trying to steal attention from the main event. The lobster roll was more of a classic Rhode Island style than anything over-complicated. Generous chunks, lightly dressed, and not drowned in filler. It leaned into freshness rather than gimmicks, which is exactly what you want when you're this close to the water. It didn't feel like it was trying to reinvent anything, just execute the basics well enough that you stop thinking about it and just eat. What I like about places like this is that they don't overpromise. Dune Brothers isn't trying to be a white-tablecloth seafood restaurant, and it doesn't need to be. It's quick, it's reliable, and it feels like it belongs in downtown.

One of the hostesses was an absolute doll. We loved her. We sat for just a little while waiting for appetizers, and my wife discovered that her ASS REALLY HURT, badly, and mine was getting bad too, due to my lack of natural cushion back there. My wife stood up and never sat back down. She noticed a 4 top leaving and asked the hostess if we could move, completely unaware of the challenges this can pose the crew during the course of business (changing table numbers in a POS isn't always as easy as it sounds). But she agreed it should be ok. They were busy, too, and I heard that they had some staff call in "sick" after a wild 4th of July. So they took care of us and I was really grateful for that. My Mexican Corn Chicken Sando was ok... the flavors kind of got mixed together on a way that it didn't really taste that awesome to me. The wife loved her Huevos Rancheros, despite the hair she found in it (after having them change our seats, she was too embarrassed to say anything about that) and the tortillas that were so Chewy, they were inedible, she really enjoyed it. Our daughter really really liked the poutine a lot. All in all, I wouldn't rush back here, but I think our main complaint was the accursed seating. Aside from the high top, man, on the regular seats you're just sitting on a flat block of wood. McDonald's has more comfortable seating, and McDonald's intentionally makes the seating slightly uncomfortable so you don't just sit there forever, taking up a table. Anyway, it was alright. Every restaurant has its difficult days (and it's difficult customers!).
