I was there on 9/9/17; with a party of four including myself. We wanted to sit outdoors and walked outside to the table. We waited and waited; no one came to take our order. We got up and left; the place was not even packed. That's what you call poor, uncaring service. To top it off they charge around $9.00 for a bottle of beer. A bucket of 6 beers $45.00 Talk about ripping tourists off. I'm a New Yorker so you could not fool me. We went to The Paris cafe nearby nice historical place. I was tasked with planning a farewell outing for my one co-workers which is always quite a challenge. We are a 24-hour operation so we needed some place fairly close to the office so that team members who were still on the clock could stop by on their lunch hour. We needed a place that was moderately priced to accommodate everyone's budget, but we also didn't want to make the honoree feel like we took her out for a cheap send off. I found Watermark online which seemed perfect for us as we come from a document services department in a law firm. [Perhaps only other word processors will see the humor in that :o)] The place was fairly crowded but we managed to find a section of the bar where we could all gather comfortably. We ordered cocktails: some frozen some not, beers, and food. We wished the menu had more offerings but we were very happy with the burger and in particular the wings. The patrons were all rather nice. Lots of folks made new friends, everyone said please, thank you and pardon me, at the appropriate times as we navigated around each other. However what was most important for me as a patron was the service. Josh he bartender (I hope I got his name right) was attentive and considerate and managed to keep all of our bills straight, amidst slightly drunken ambiguous cries of "I got her next one!", "Whatever he's drinkin', I got it!". We never had to wait for his attention even though the place was crowded. The drinks wer DEEEE-LICIOUS!!!!! AND STRONGGGG! Some bars go light on the drink to keep you ordering. Those drinks were so tasty that is what kept me ordering and the fact that they got the job done will keep me coming back. This bar&restaurant doesn't have a bathroom. Would you like to have a few beers and no bathroom? I was so unhappy. The bathroom that the staff directs you to is in the nearby ferry company's building, ~100 feet away, and has one stall for women and one stall for men. Each time I tried to go, there was a huge line of ferry customers. I ended up walking back to my office rather than waiting, but my colleague waited and it took 40 minutes. It's just not a pleasant experience, and I don't go to bars to spend my time worrying and calculating how long it'll be until I need to leave to use the restroom. And I wonder if this is illegal. All in all, I highly recommend that you try a different bar. read more

An awesome spot to grab drinks on the water. The views of Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan are superb. I went yesterday evening with some friends to enjoy the nice weather. Definitely pretty busy with the after work crowd, but the staff is quick and attentive. There is both an indoor bar surrounded by floor to ceiling glass as well as seating outside. GET THE CHEESE CURDS. I know, they might sound weird, but they're delicious and go perfectly with a nice cold drink. read more

Head to the end of Pier 15, right next to Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club and that giant sailboat that is surely owned by pirates, and you'll find this new park-topped bar & grill that's definitely a contender for the go-to spot of the Summer for outdoor drinking and boat-watching (the great American pastime - suck it, sober car-watching). The place is well hidden. Mainly covered outdoor seating with a tiny indoor area. Drinks were disappointing. Limited menu yet the food hit the spot! Crispy Brussel sprouts and a big classic burger with perfectly crisped and salted shoestring fries. The view was sweet. They had lounge chairs, ping pong or beer pong. We are tourists so found the bathroom sitch a little strange (it's a public restroom in another building). read more

Impressive venue, great views of the city. I didn't come here to eat but I was attending a private music event and I did have some great drinks. They have Radeburger on tap, they also had a shot girl walking around with kamikaze's, Fireball and Tequila. Man that shot girl was so sweet but also so dangerous. I was thankful for the fact that I wasn't the one driving. A few of my friends tried the food and said it wasn't bad but just typical bar bites. I would definitely come back here for the atmosphere alone. It's definitely good vibes. The music was great and the speakers were thumpin'. I might even try the food next time. I really like that there are big wooden lounge chairs in the back. It would be a great place to chill and get some sun and may be a drink or two with a few friends. The venue is a bit hidden behind where the cruise ships board. At first I wasn't sure which was to go but we figured it out. There definitely needs to be more awareness of the location itself. May be some signage would help. Minus a star for not having their own bathrooms but the event promoter did provide port-o-potties for the event otherwise the bathroom situation would have been a big mess. read more

What Watermark really has going for it is the awesome view of the water and the plentiful seating for chilling after work, but that's about it. I thought the sangria was really not worth the calories as it tasted like really cheap wine and a juice box mixed together. Came for Kentucky derby night or whatever so the bar was extremely packed with people dressed up as though they were attending the KD. The outdoor area is pretty cool as it's on the pier so you get a nice view of the east river. Bartender wasn't very friendly. I'm kinda surprised they don't have a drink menu as I was told by the bartender since the place is promoted as a cocktail bar. There isn't much of a beer selection too. Um their fries are great tho. We arrived early for New Year brunch on a rainy day. There were 4 parties behind us in the line. We were told by the hostess that since we didn't pay $200 to reserve the the "glass house," we'd have to wait aside "if there are cancellations." While waiting, another party with three young women arrived, asking if there was a table available. It was clear that they didn't pay a $200 deposit either, and they were seated at the front of the pier with full view of Brooklyn Bridge. Meanwhile, the hostess came back and said that she'd be willing to seat us in a hut. I asked if we could sit in one of the empty huts with better views and were told that the huts were either "leaking" (despite place settings in each huts) or they were already reserved at one PM. We were seated inside a hut that was at the very back of the pier (no view, next to a service hut). We noticed that all of the huts with better view along the pier were still empty two hours later. One party had their own hut and four other parties shared two huts. We are a family of 4 with two small kids, and ordered a waffle, fondue and charcuterie for 2, plus s'mores for two (close to $200). The bill included an automatic gratuity and service charge. We protested the charge and paid a tip. The food was okay, not wow, and we came for the view. Not worth the schlep and expense. read more

My friends and I were visiting NYC from California, and my friend who loves mermaids was very excited to try the "Siren." We called ahead about an hour before we got to the bar to double check they were open before we made the 40 minute trip from where we were staying. After being told they were open, we got there to find the bar closed for a private party. As the employee told us the private party had paid $5,000 for a couple of private events and were thus "more important customers." Talk about a lack of professionalism and poor manners. I suppose you don't need to be polite to potential customers when you have waterfront property. read more

Like the other reviews, the view is specular I live right by and have been there over 10x. Sit outside but be aware, don't get the taller waiter; he'll spend more time complaining about his coworkers to his coworkers LOUDLY then actually working. i was there a few weeks ago and his was pointing out trails of blood all over the pier that were his. it was disgusting, the rest of the staff is very professional and pleasant. and the food is great, especially the regular and salty hot dog. and ice cream is opening up any day now read more

Watermark!!!! I don't know how much I can write about this place to explain how amazing it is!! For 1. Amazing view!! Water, benches, and people watching OH my!!! 2. Hor. D' oeurves go for the sliders, crab cakes, bruschetta, chicken satay!!! So I'm kind of a foodie and when I talk about flavor we are say FLAVOR!!! 3.4.5.-10 ALLL THE KUDOS TO BARTENDER!!!!! We were here for the Do-Over / Spill-Over party and they had 6 employees at the bar but only 2 of them were taking drink orders. There was about 60-100 people at the bar and it took everyone at least an hour to get one drink. The other employees were just standing there doing nothing so people started asking them if they can take drink orders but they refused to! And said they weren't "allowed" and that they would get fired if they do. This bar has a lot of potential but too bad it doesn't have any basic common sense. read more

The so called "The Siren" drink is advertised as 114 ounces of margarita for $80. When the drink came it was rock solid with at least a half of a bag of ice poured into it. When we asked the lady to fill the cup up with the 114 ounces she was certain that she would prevail in proving us wrong. Well, The cup only held 96 ounces OF STRAIGHT LIQUID, no ice added. This place is a SCAM. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. If I could give a 0 star review I would. They should be reported for false advertisement and scamming their clientele. read more

I rarely write Yelp reviews, but this place simply astonished me. I am not sure I have ever been to a worse restaurant/bar. There's so much to say here that I'll just go through it all in sequence: 1. The website said that the place opened at noon, and there was a signboard by the street indicating that it was open. However, when I got there around 1pm, both doors were locked. I saw people inside, but assumed that they were all employees who hadn't finished opening up yet. I then realized that they WERE open, and there were customers inside, but they had just failed to unlock the doors. They let me and a few other people in after we knocked, but astonishingly, they still didn't actually unlock the doors until about 20 minutes later (an hour and a half after opening time)- they just kept going to the doors and letting people in. I was baffled. 2. There were many laminated menus out, but I was told (after looking at it for a few minutes) that they were actually only serving the snack menu (consisting of a total of four items) all winter. I cannot fathom why they left the regular menus out- I saw multiple people attempt to order things on the menu and be told they were not available. Additionally, the signboard outside said they served real food. Why not print snack menus and change the signboard, if you only serve snacks? 3. There were two people working- a bartender who was incredibly slow to acknowledge or help people (and who had visible beads of sweat running down his face), and a girl who seemed too young to even be working in a bar, and who did almost nothing that I could see beyond opening the doors for people. In fact, I now wonder if she even worked there, or if she was just related to the bartender. 4. I ordered chicken fingers (I should have left at this point, but I was sort of curious how much worse it could get). When they arrived, they were burnt in places, but still looked ok to eat. 5. I tried to get myself some ketchup. Every bottle on the counter was empty. I repeat, they had JUST opened, and this place is tiny- yet they hadn't even refilled the condiment bottles. 6. I ate the chicken outside. It MOSTLY tasted fine, but I noticed an oddly mushy section inside one piece. I then realized that the piece was actually TWO pieces which must have gotten frozen to each other, and the mushiness was UNCOOKED BATTER. 7. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, as it COULD be unrelated, but the next day I had some gastrointestinal issues. In conclusion: holy christ. I am absolutely amazed that this place is still in business. You can bring your own food to the pier, as it is a public park. I will be doing that, and I will never, never go to Watermark EVER again. read more

I wanted to like this bar so much, but everytime they failed me. I lived right nextdoor and took two different sets of visitors here given their location and view. Both times, our order was brought out incorrectly after almost a 45 min. to an hour wait WHEN THERE WERE VERY FEW OTHER CUSTOMERS THERE!!! When we asked for the manager, the ONE table near us started griping about the same thing (wait time and wrong order) given the emptiness of the place. The service staff is terrible and the food is mediocre at best. With new management and staff, this place could be a gold mine! The location is great, the ambiance is also great / cool. Nice place for a quick drink or two during happy hour. Other than that no bueno. The food is NOT AT ALL TASTY. Crab Cake sliders, lobster Mac and cheese, spinach artichoke dip all very small portions and WAAAAAY over priced. We had two drinks and 3 dishes (mentioned above) and a slice of key lime pie it was a total of $140 with gratuity and the food is instant and taste like hospital food. The key lime pie tasted as if had sat in the fridge for a few days and the crust was mushy. The lobster Mac and cheese comes in a tiny little salsa bowl , definitely can't share with anyone, and was not cheesy, noodles were a bit hard. Please do not get the spinach and artichoke dip. You are better off purchasing the TGIF frozen box at the market. DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE HUNGRY. This is just great for a few drinks. They were not playing music guessing because the rain (not that it should matter) maybe they didn't want the wires wet. It has potential if they revamp the food or maybe the chef. read more

AMAZING! From the moment I entered I felt such good vibes. There's so many points to touch on but I'll start with something super important to me and that's SERVICE! The manager I think her name is Stephanie but from other (amazing) reviews I think the spelling is Steff-- I digress. She is INCREDIBLE. Good management in NYC is hard to come by and the Watermark has landed a gem with her. She checked in on us personally and made sure our night was going great. The waitstaff was also impressive and I could see that they took notes from the way management handled things. The food and snacks are perfect for a night by the water. Totally reasonable price wise and such a fun view. And the drinks!!! The presentation AND taste were 10/10 which is a rarity! I recommend for not only a cute date moment but for any other occasion as well. I went with my boyfriend and I can't wait to go back with my girls!!! Thanks again watermark and Steff! read more

Maybe I had high expectations, but it's really unfortunate that this place isn't what it could be. Maybe things will improve one day, but I was so disappointed with the incredibly slow and inattentive service, mediocre selection of drinks, and uncomfortable seating outside. The location and view are terrific, I really want this place to be a go-to spot to enjoy being outside and relaxing with friends along the waterfront.
