Great spot for brunch! Food is decently priced and delicious. Service is good and they offer indoor and outdoor seating with great views of Shem creek!

Came here on a very rainy Saturday with my husband before dinner. It was pretty slow , so we got sat right away. The restaurant inside is really nice, we got sat by the creek view, so we got to see all the action. Our server came pretty fast as well to take our order. I ordered the cesear salad with fried chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The cesear salad was good, dressing was creamy..I just wish they added more of it. Chicken was fried nicely and juicy. The sweet potato fries were crisp and not soggy which is always a plus. My one complaint about the service is that our table didn't get bread, every other table around us got bread. I didn't realize until we were almost done with our meal though. My husband got shrimp and fries, it was kind of pricey for a lunch and just okay. Nothing super amazing. It was nice to sit inside and get a view with it raining though. I will also say the cole slaw was really good...I know that's random. Not sure if we would come back, we may if we are bored with the other restaurants.

Overlooking the bustling water, this Shem Creek classic offers consistently good food and service at a relatively good value. We have dined there many times. We brought some visitors from out of town that enjoyed the experience and food. There is a good variety on the menu. We were promptly seated for our reservation by a kind host. Our server greeted us and provided drinks in a timely manner. We had a variety of appetizers. For dinner the shrimp & grits is excellent (benchmark against all of the local restaurants). The crab cake dinner is tasty with plentiful crab. The Shrimp scampi was a healthy portion and a solid choice. My mother enjoyed the fried shrimp dinner that was crispy with sweet potato fries. The server was hard working and friendly, but stretched between at least 3 large parties. While the interior may be somewhat dated, the experience on the water and consistently very good food makes this an excellent option. It is a solid -4- that is a good value and consistent. There are lots of options around Shem Creek - Water's Edge provides a predictable, good experience.

Great meal today! Our BnB host recommended this place, and we're so glad she did. Our server Amy gave us solid guidance on the menu, and we tried the Ahi Tuna salad (she was right about the salad dressing, yum), and Cubano (served with mojo sauce on the side like a French Dip, and they don't skimp on the pickles). Starters were oysters (we got the brinier option, from Canada, and they were fine. But I'm picky about my oysters) and Bang Bang Shrimp (husband says they are the best he's ever had. Very smart wine list (Merry Edwards, Paul Hobbs) that is fairly priced. And I know this seems like minutiae but I really liked their iced tea. We haven't seen them yet, but Amy says the dolphins come up the creek and hang out right outside the restaurant.

Such a good experience! The appetizers were delicious, our waitress was attentive, and the food came-- for the most part-- in a timely manner. Water's Edge has a great atmosphere with even better views. Would 100% return.

Delicious luncheon on Shem Creek at Water's Edge Restaurant in Mt Pleasant SC with my beau, Marc Cardinal. I give our experience 5s for food, service, and ambiance!

Our server was great. We went for dinner. The views were amazing as dolphins kept going up and down. Great local beer selection. As appetizer, we had the boom boom shrimp. Not very spicy but delicious. For entree we had the red snapper special. Delicious!!!

What a great place this is and they have great seating options. We went on a Friday evening after making reservations earlier in the day. The hostesses were very professional, even though being approached from all sides they remained calm and gracious. Our food was amazing, we weren't rush at all and enjoyed our evening thoroughly. Even ordered some desserts.

Considering how tricky parking can be in this area, I knew we were off to a great start!  The meal certainly did not disappoint. We ordered the "Diver Scallops" and the "Grilled Swordfish," both of which were absolutely delicious. I opted for the 8 oz portion, and while the 4 oz might have sufficed, the larger serving truly hit the spot.  To complement the stunning creekside views, where boaters casually drifted by, we indulged in a cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect finish to an already incredible dining experience.  I'm already looking forward to returning soon!

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! Same layout, same "falling down" looking building on the outside, same rustic charm inside, and our waitress was once again terrific. Still, I have to admit it felt a little less magical than before. Mrs. K. ordered the clam chowder. She told me afterward it was still flavorful, but only warm. I wish she had mentioned it at the time, though we are not the type to fuss. I went with the shrimp and scallops combo. The scallops were impressively large and cooked just right. The shrimp were smaller, but still tasty. The plate came with their seasoned rice, cole slaw, a hush puppy, and a fried hominy square that was surprisingly good. The hush puppy had a serious crunch to it, which some folks love. And yes, it was all still served on a paper plate. [Review 1410 of 2025 - 1353 in South Carolina - 24961 overall]

We walked from the Shem creek park, which was quite an adventure since we had to go through some neighborhoods. But at the end of the block, we saw the entrance. This place is only open for dinner hours, so make sure you go after 5. It was a fun place to be in, it's sailor themed and it was cool to be in a place where one of my favorite shows was filmed. We also went around sunset, they have a dock area where you can see one of the prettiest sunsets with the bridge in the background. As for food, me and my friend shared the fried shrimp and scallop plate. We wish we were hungrier, but this combo was a great size for us. The scallops and shrimp were super fresh and well fried. The sides that the plates were pretty good, I really enjoyed the hominy square, which is fried grits. It was fun to be able to try so many southern dishes at this restaurant. I definitely recommend going if you have the time and especially if you have a car. It's definitely a hidden gem, but worth the trip!
