My husband and I stopped here on our anniversary trip to the Lake Geneva area. Wow what a gem off the beaten path! This place is great and the food and the service are top notch. It's nestled in a residential neighborhood, so initially we were concerned the GPS was leading us off course, but we persevered and I'm glad we did! We came on a Sunday night, the crowd was light with a few families scattered around the dining area and another couple seated at the bar. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Karen who is a real gem at this place. She made great suggestions and was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the cheese curds, the Sunday special: All- you can eat chicken wings, and the heater burger with hot giardinera, pepper jack cheese and housemade hot sauce - which were all very delicious and fresh. We quickly learned that though the food and atmosphere are great here, the real stars of the show are the people. The chef and owner, Rick, came from the back and chatted with the other couple at the bar for a while, then he stopped by to meet us and talked with us for a bit. Turns out, he's also from the Chicago area and comes up on the weekends to work at the restaurant with his wife. It's a family affair and it has a real family feel. At Karen's suggestion we had the Honey Nut Cheerio shots, and after learning it was our 1st wedding Anniversary, Rick ordered a round for the four of us and made a toast. We also got to meet the other couple and spent some time getting to know them and sharing wedding pictures. It was a wonderful time! It's especially worth noting this experience on the weekend of the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA. With all the hatred that goes on in our country, I am happy to say we experienced nothing but kindness at this small neighborhood bar and grill in Delavan, WI. We never know how we'll be received in a new place or town since I'm Black and my husband is Latino, but at Watershed Saloon we were treated like friends and we'll never forget it. My husband and I have been in the Watershed and has always had a pleasant experience staff is always friendly and the food is always great. Tonight, our food was great as usual... but we did not like our bartender. She was complaining the whole time about how she works so many hours and about her feet and neck pain. I did not choose to come to this establishment to listen to her problems. Keep it to yourself. Also, my husband and I felt as if she was also trying to push shots onto us in order for her to have one also. We observed her doing this with other customers also. We have never had this experience before with any other bartender but now knowing she works primarily during the week we will not return on those days. read more

We stopped here on a recent Bike ride around Lake Delavan and it was worth the hype. The place was getting slammed because of the people from the bike ride, but the service was still top notch. The ladies beyond the counter were attentive and always asked if we wanted a refill on our beverages even before we had an opportunity to finish. Now the reason this place is 5 STARS ----- Their Burgers are freaking amazing. I had the "Heater Burger" with bacon and it was one of the best burgers I have had in all of Wisconsin and Illinois. The patty was huge, flavorful and perfectly cooked. They had the right amount of toppings, all of which were complementary. Even the fries were good with some crispness and just the right amount of salt. They also have a huge number of craft beers on tap, and they know how to pour a beer. Not like some other places that give you half a glass of foam. Overall, fun atmosphere, excellent service, and amazing food!! read more

When you go to the same town on vacation or just to get away for a weekend, year after year, you have to venture out and try to find new places to frequent. This was one we tried on our vacation last week, and it was a hidden gem. We arrived late on a Sunday. There was only one other party when we arrived, and they weren't there long. There was 8 of us and we were able to take over the place. Darts, pinball, jukebox, etc. Karen was tending bar, and she was AWESOME! The quality of service that she provides her customers is amazing. She was kind and friendly. She sold this place for us and took time to come over and check on us and see if we needed anything. She also made sure to tell us about there specials on other days of the week. All in all this place has a great atmosphere, wonderful service, and excellent food. Took some of our friends who live in the area but have never been to The Watershed for their Friday night Fish Fry last night. It was absolutely SUPERB! Fish was cooked to perfection I had the half and half baked and fried, both were so good flaky and fresh. The potato pancakes are the best around! Sought this place out while riding motorcycles with friends, but once we arrive at 1pm, no patrons there. I assumed it wasn't any good, but I looked at the Yelp review and was convinced to give it a try. I was surprised when I got inside how cool the place was. Looks like it was recently updated. Looks great and plenty of seating. Good was great. I had the Sunday all-you-can-eat wings. They serve 12 and let you mix sauces. Twelve is plenty because these are meaty wings. The rest of my table got burgers and loved them too. Even the potato chips tasted special--not sure why. Guess since everything else was great. I'd highly recommend stopping here. Don't let the outside appearance dissuade you. Inside is very cool. There's even a washer toss game and table casino. Oh, and after we ordered food, lots more people arrived. Maybe they just needed to see that bikers were there. Or that anybody was there. read more

While visiting the Lake Geneva area, but our hotel was in Delavan, I wanted to go to a local pub to enjoy some food and some cocktails. I Yelp'd the Watershed Saloon. All the positive reviews you read are spot on! This is such a great place with outstanding friendly employees, terrific food and bar that's well stocked. I had the beef brisket BBQ. Great flavor! What disguises itself as a neighborhood bar is truly a hidden gem off the beaten path in Delavan. The bar and seating area is very clean and certainly up-to-date. The front of house staff is nice and accommodating. But Danny Boyz BBQ is what sets this place apart. I was there on a "slow" night (we were the only patrons at 9pm) with my pre-teen son. We were looking for a late dinner. He ordered the half-pound burger and couldn't stop raving about it. I had BBQ brisket that was lean, tender, and exquisitely seasoned. Prices seemed fair as each of these sandwiches were quite large. My only complaint is the significant additional charge to upgrade to fries from the included chips. Regardless, next time we're visiting Geneva / Delavan area, this will be on the "must visit" list. read more

This is one of the few restaurants close to my lake house. My parents said that they bar there is good but when I go for a meal it takes forever to get a waiter. Everyone enjoys the two for one burger days so that's when they usually go but as a vegetarian I have to find other options. I like to get the mac and cheese. One time I tried the cheese curds but it upset my stomach for the rest of the night. It is a little loud but that makes since because it is a bar. I went to the watershed saloon with my husband and two children (13 & 11) . I was a little nervous walking in looking at it from the outside. But it truly was a hidden treasure. We ordered the huge delicious pretzel as an appetizer. The pretzel comes with 2 sauces dijon mustard sauce and a slightly spicy cheese, they were both really good. I believe the pretzel was around $12. It was so yummy, we could eat and we did not even finish it. We were starting to get full. They have a pool table so my 11 year old son and husband played two games while we waited for our food. That was a dollar a game. They finished just in time for the food. My husband and son shared a full slab of ribs with fries and coleslaw. That was about $20. They loved it! Very meaty very tender delicious bbq sauce. My husband also loved the coleslaw. My 13 yr old daughter ordered the American burger. She also loved it. Fat juicy and made to perfection. She had fries and a pickle as sides. She ate the whole thing! I wanted the NY steak. But they were all out. She apologized and explained they just took more out the freezer but they were still frozen. She also made recommendations. Apparently the salmon is pretty popular. I opted for a 6 wing basket. That was only like $9. I read a review about the place being loud so I went expecting that and I did not think it was loud at all. It was an enjoyable atmosphere and everyone was friendly and attentive. It was about 6pm and the place was pretty full. I would go again!! Soon to try the salmon and steak! My husband picked this place for his birthday dinner while we were in the area over July 4th. The server told us a couple of times she was the only one there, and it was only her second day on the job, so we expected a wait, since the place was packed. But - she consistently didn't check back with us to bring silverware, pour more water, or give us the chance to order another drink (too bad because the Moscow Mule was the only redeeming thing in the place). Two of our orders were wrong - there was some attitude when we asked her to make it right. And then...she totally disappeared on us, which really sucked because of the 4 of us, 3 ordered hamburger /cheeseburgers that tasted really "off", and weren't edible. At all. I had to get the bartenders attention (by walking up to the bar) and told her we wanted our check and couldn't find our server. She brought us our check, and asked if everything tasted ok. We said no, none of the burgers tasted right. She said that it was probably the seasoning they put on them, gave us our check and walked away. There was no offer to get us something else, or take the burgers off the bill...and no indication she was going to check with the kitchen to have them make sure the meat wasn't spoiled. If we could give this place ZERO stars we would. Worst waitress ever!!! There were maybe 5 people in the entire restaurant and we literally waited one hour to get our food (2 burgers). It would have been even longer if we had not finally asked her where it was after sitting there for 45 minutes. She was clearly irritated and tried to blame it on the fact a big party had just showed and the cook was behind. I was there on a Thursday for buy 1, get 1 burger special. The restaurant was busy as all the tables were taken but the bar wasn't full. We waited 5 minutes for one of the two bartender/waitress staff to help us. We ordered drinks and food. After 1 hour of waiting for our appetizers, we were told the entire order of food was coming out together. We asked for them to come out first. 30 minutes after asking about our food, we decided to talk with the manager. We were told that 40 takeout orders were a head of ours and that they prioritize takeout over dine-in customers. We demanded to pay for our drinks and to cancel our food order as it had an hour and half since we had ordered.
