    Exterior and outdoor dining

Every new place we try always has the possibility of being that great place only locals know about or the new kid on the block knocking it out of the park. Of course there is a chance of trying a new place and being disappointed, that has happened plenty of times. This morning I got a picture of a burger from Wayback Burgers on Facebook. It looked real good and Darien is about a 30 minute drive from my home. I picked up my brother and looked at it as an adventure. This is a burger place in a strip mall. No drive-thru but they do have outdoor seating. The menu features their 6 signature burgers you also have the option to build your own from a 7 proteins and a variety of cheeses, sauces, and toppings. We went with the A-1 Steakhouse burger and the Bourbon Bacon burger. The A-1 Steakhouse burger was mighty tasty. I thought the Bourbon Bacon burger was the real hit. The bourbon mustard brought a tangy flavor that was not overpowering the burger or the bacon. The bacon was thick and substantial not Burger King bacon. I got the tatter tots but my friend got cheese curds and they were crispy and savory. I asked the counter person if they had WiFi , he did not know but the owner shortly appeared and gave me the password and made sure I got connected. It appreciated him going above and beyond. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior had modern industrial feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had Coca-Cola products but also four lemonades. This place is definitely worth a trip back to try more options on their menu. Finally I was pleasantly surprised it was under $20 a person for a full lunch.

Awesome efficient online ordering. Simple and quick. Got the email confirmation with the pickup time and thought WOW that fast? Drove over checked into yelp and it was time to pickup. Walked in, greeted, asked if I had ordered and my name. Told me my order is ready. WOW! Great service. Came home and no order mistakes. YEAH! Burgers hit our expectations. Fries were great. Wawawa, the cheese curds were a bit over done. Our shakes were totally flavorful and thick. We'll be back. Thanks for a great meal fairly priced.

Came back and tried a single cheeseburger. It was good! I also got a chicken strip kids meal And upgraded to a kids shake. It was more flavored milk than a shake which was disappointing.

This is the lettuce and tomato.

My husband ordered 2 steak burgers and requested lettuce, tomatoes, and mushrooms and jalapenos. The picture below is the tomato and lettuce we found on the burger. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Wanted to try a new burger, and Wayback Burgers is now on UberEats, so I thought why not?! Burger was good but not exceptional, same with fries and Cajun Tots. Still a pretty good option if it's on your way!

    CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH MILKSHAKE

It was an alright Cajun burger. If the burger didn't include Cajun remoulade, it would be flavorless. My fries were upgraded to chili cheese fries. The fries are golden and crunchy. The chili was a little sour, which may have been caused by the acidic tomatoes, which is why I don't like it. Although the Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake is delicious, I think the caramel syrup was overdone.

If you guys know me, I love Wayback. This trip did not disappoint me. I tried the new mint chocolate chip shake and I would give it a 9 out of 10. One point got deducted because there were no chocolate chips on the whipped cream. I got the cheesy burger and it was so so so so so so so so so scrumptious. The cheesy burger will never disappoint me. They changed the cheese curds, but they are still very good. The mint chocolate chip shake was a definite win. I wish they could keep this forever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is nice and calming, the building is very pretty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you haven't come here already, what are you waiting for? get over here and join the party.

Food was average at best, service was horrendously slow. Right above a Wendy's but still far below any burger joint.

It's awkwardly positioned in a small strip and the parking is terrible, but worth the inconvenience! Three of our group shared the mixed grill, selecting the beans and fries as their side. They thoroughly enjoyed it and even had a small bit leftover to take home. It's a generous platter of various grilled meats including the signature favorite Macedonian kebapi, as well as a few types of sausage, pork and chicken. The bread provided was the perfect texture for nestling these cuts to form the perfect bite. I decided to go with the Sharska Burger and the classic (and nostalgic) presentation with the fries inside the burger. Even though the burger was a bit overdone for my liking, I suppose it has to be cooked to a higher level of doneness to ensure the cheese filling is thoroughly melted. The fries were hot, crispy, and fresh but I had to get through a lot of them before I could access my burger. Not a bad thing, but I think I would get them on the side next time for convenience. We actually started with an appetizer of a few pieces of burek to share- one meat and one cheese. We found the meat version to be better than the cheese, which was on the dry side. The burek, when ordered by the piece, is just okay. I suspect it's possibly reheated in the microwave which makes the exterior a bit soft, less crispy. We've never had that issue when ordering a whole burek- it's always been flaky, crispy, and delicious. I would skip the individual pieces next time and order the whole, because any leftovers can be easily reheated and crisped up in the oven, avoiding any sogginess. Service is always good and attentive. An employee was celebrating a birthday when we were there, and staff kindly shared pieces of birthday cake with the diners in the restaurant. Thank you! The only off-putting thing was a table of several men who sat along the back window tables, shifting from one table to the next repeatedly. They finished their meals as we arrived but proceeded to linger there for the duration of our visit and were still there when we left. They seemed to be in the trucking business, as it sounded like they were interviewing at least one person and talking about trucking. People came in to see them and left repeatedly, as if the space was their own office. Many restaurants place a 90-minute limit on a table, which is what I personally think should be done in situations like these, especially when seating inside Babba Grill is already limited, and these individuals don't see the inappropriateness of treating it as their personal office. Disrespectful of the staff's time and the restaurant's space, imo, and affects the ambiance. Hopefully this type of thing doesn't happen to them often. We are already planning for some pastrmajlija on our next trip and we can't wait!

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

Unfortunately when I went on a Friday afternoon the dining area was closed. Looked like they were filming and taking pictures. They were in the kitchen too. Anyway, I placed an order to go and less than 10 minutes later I was out the door. Ordered the BAM cheeseburger and small fries. A little pricey but then everything is. The mixture of beef and lamb is luxurious. Great blend and let's hear it for a good old fashioned char burger! The spices and sauce are subtle yet distinctive and unique. Wonderful flavors throughout. The fries are the larger/thick cut that I usually don't enjoy, but these were fried perfectly and had a great texture. Now I'm going to be nit picky on the build of the burger. And this is obviously personal preference. The burger patty is a generous size. However, the cheese was so melted and thin, I barely noticed. The onion was a raw white onion and also a generous cut. I would prefer a red onion or grill them. As it was, the onion kind of dominated the flavor. The tomato, pickles, and lettuce were all good, which added up to a tall build. Finally, a brioche bun. I know, the world loves a brioche bun. On a burger, I don't want the extra sweetness of brioche. Give me a good old potato bun or sesame seed bun instead. Nothing bad about any of the above. Great service, fast and friendly. I look forward to the dining room open and trying a gyro plate! I'll be back for sure.
