Ordered on the phone and they gladly took my order. The nice young man, working cashier, educated me on what HALAL means and what items they provide that are HALAL. Him and the meaning are why I will be bringing my family here whenever we eat out for a burger. Organic fruit is more expensive than non-organic, but you get quality food right? Animal fats are GREAT for the human body. Fries were not greasy at all and perfectly crispy , milkshake tasted real and not diabetic at all. I like their choices of shake flavors but their shakes aren't thick. I prefer my shakes to be less watery. The lady serving the burger was nice and extremely busy since she's also the cook. Not a bad spot. With burger places in every corner, it becomes pretty hard to compete, but this place proved its worth. It's not exactly cheap for fast food, but the burgers are made fresh. You actually see them grill the meat. There are a variety of choices and they also have a pretty mean fried chicken sandwich. Still, at the end of the day, beef is the way to go. Food takes a little bit of time in comparison to most fast food places, but remember, they are cooking the meat fresh. I'm always down to try a new burger place and the fact that this place has been around for years in my neck of the woods and I never tried it is a bit strange. The burgers are unseasoned and bland, and the onion rings aren't good. A bit disappointing since it seemed to be advertised well. The app is broken and will not let you redeem awards properly. Last review was a little over 5 years ago so thought I'd give a try, since I heard a few positive opinions from my friends, using a delivery service but I was so disappointed. But mainly b/c delivery took nearly 75-90 min. I'm sure it's the delivery services issue but time kept getting pushed out. The service reported back saying they are trying to find the best match for my order by saying "Matching a delivery person": WTH!! The burgers ordered arrived cold. For me, I do NOT enjoy cold burgers. I'm the type that believes hot food should be eaten hot/warm. The burgers were not very wide but it was average high depending on the number of patties and its slim toppings. I speculate the draw to Wayback is the halal meat for its burgers. Other than that, I can understand the current cumulative 3 star rating from yelp reviewers. All in all, "Wayback" is Wayback on my "will not recommend" to anyone List. I went to a Wayback location in Concord a few years ago and wasn't too thrilled, but recently tried this location with a few friends because I'm all for giving a franchise another try. I was really happy with the food experience I had. All of their meat is Halal, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. There's so many burger and sandwich options that you really can't go wrong. They were doing a Cajun special when I was there, so being from New Orleans I couldn't resist and it was actually pretty tasty. Their chili cheese fries are solid as well if you want something on the side. I had the chance to taste their Cheesy sandwich, and I might need to get that next time. It was delicious! I'd say the only unpleasant experience was needing to use the restroom there and the restroom was a mess. It was shared with neighboring Starbucks and had no toilet paper, paper towels, etc. When I told the restaurant they said that Starbucks is the one that manages the supplies for the restroom. The inside of the restaurant was bare since it was only take-out when I was there, but overall was a solid experience and I'd go back again. read more

One day I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. This location is next to Starbucks. Around the corner was a drive-thru, which I thought was for Wayback Burgers but was for Starbucks. Luckily I was glad that the drive-thru wasn't for Wayback Burgers because that drive-thru line at Starbucks seemed to be more than 10 cars long. During this pandemic I was amazed there was only one worker here. He was not only cooking but also taking orders online. He is a definition of multitask worker. I could have placed an order online. However I never ate at Wayback Burgers before so I wanted to look at the menu. I planned to order coffee milkshake (as a I needed my daily caffeine urge), Philly Burger, and onion rings. When I went inside this eatery I noticed tater tots were on the menu. I decided to order tater tots as they are my kryptonite. After I placed my order I waited for about 10 minutes - that is shorter than the wait on drive-thru at Starbucks - for my food. The coffee milkshake was creamy but not heavy. The tater tots were indulging. The patties on the Double Philly were moist and meaty. I will be honest the milkshake, tater tots, and burger at Wayback Burgers aren't the best I ever had. However going out to get a simple burger without all the hassle of waiting in line during this pandemic made me appreciative what was it like before this pandemic.
