Ordered a 5 piece chicken nuggets and a kids cheeseburger. The 5 piece nuggets was the saddest thing I've ever seen. Half the nuggets were the size of a quarter and mostly breading. I ordered the chicken nuggets kids meal with an Oreo shake. The chicken nuggets were so small, dry, and not much chicken to them. I would say it was mostly breading. Not too appetizing. I was pleasantly surprised by this burger place. They burger with the A1 was really good, and I really enjoyed the tater tots. Hard to mess up tater tots, but they hit! The workers were great,just would prefer you dont interrupt my ordering because you need to say something in Spanish to another customer, it could have waited till I was finished ordering. It is inside the mall, so I am not fond of that, but the place is busy. Food is good, mall is busy and depending on day hard to find a seat, and noisy of course. I was at Meadowood mall with a friend and we decided to have some lunch, and today I decided to try out Wayback Burgers. The cashiers were both very nice and friendly! The price of the food was a little high for my liking, but it wasn't horribly high. I ordered the Cheesy Burger combo and, aside from the bizarre look of it, the burger and the fries tasted fine, they weren't bad, but they don't really stand out in anyway. However, the Red Velvet smoothie, was beyond delicious! The flavors really pop and it goes down nice and smooth! Overall, the experience was alright, nothing about it was bad in anyway, but, aside from the milkshake, nothing really stood out, especially for the price of the food. read more

Overall this is not a bad stop for a burger if you are walking the mall looking for a quick bite to eat. However, it definitely didn't fix my crave for a really good burger. The onion rings and fries lacked seasoning, but were still okay. The burgers were cooked well and decent size, but I was disappointed in what I received. On the menu, you see a big bacon cheeseburger with onion rings on it, looks delicious! I asked what sauce comes on it and she said there's two; one with bbq and one with another sauce. I requested the bbq but what I got looked nothing like the picture- no onion rings, just a plain bacon cheeseburger with an aggressively over sweetened bbq sauce. I suppose that was just a misunderstanding, but that's not how it was explained. Overall I wouldn't be against going back, but definitely not on the top of my list. read more

I saw a sign on a school fence and was excited to try it, boy was my Husband and I so VERY disappointed. We ordered 2 box single cheeseburgers, one with tator tots, one with frys, a brownie shake and a small light lemonade. I took 1 drink of the lemonade and it was so gross, at first I thought it was me so I had my Husband try it, he agreed with me, I threw it away. The burgers were not very good. Tator tots were over cooked. Fries were okay and shake was the only good thing! So very disappointed after looking forward to trying this place. Worst meal we have had in a long time. I ordered the family pack. That includes 2 each classic burgers, fries, onion rings and 6 chicken tenders. I also ordered 2 milkshakes. The burgers were tasty but not really spectacular. The fries seemed small for a "full" order of fries. The onion rings were yummy. The chicken tenders were good but one of the tenders was super small. The staff was nice but very tight with the dipping sauce. I ended up getting 3 sauces. But I had to convince them that each side and the order of tenders should each have at least 1 sauce. Ok, this place is a fast food joint in the mall so I'm not going to grade them on service (which was ok). The food I'm grading on a calorie scale of worth it or not. The chicken BLT, ummmm yes! Went in today 7/28/25 4pm, to get our usual, medium tater tots and drink... The oriental kid working the counter was very rude and said we could not get that without ordering a burger. We told him we'd been getting it for about 2 years, he refused to let us order it without ordering a burger and said we could order it as sides. I asked since when he said since always. He refused our order period, he got more rude as we went on, there is no excuse for that. He needs to be taught what the menu orders are and how to be polite. read more

The Oreo milkshake was the best part of this experience. We shared the Oktoberfest burger minus mustard. Pretzel bun was good. Onion rings inside were charred. Burgers were cooked but the cheese wasn't very melted. I'd get a milkshake there but not a burger or food again. read more

Returning customer to Wayback burger the sandwich and the fries were good, but the milkshake was not as good as it was last time. I think it might've been either a lack of the same or similar ingredients to what they had last time or them being short of staff there was only one person out front taking orders. Alright...we're going back! Waaaaay back!!! Okay, maybe not back into time, but Wayback Burgers attempts to take us to simpler times and a simple menu with burgers, fries, and shakes as their key menu items. But, simple doesn't mean the experience is going to be easy... Ordering can be done online through their app or on their website. I wasn't impressed. Not only do you get some tricky maneuvering to ensure you build the order right, which didn't happen. They don't seem to be able to read their system to provide the best customer experience. Bacon was missing from both burgers we ordered and I had to go back twice to them; first for missing onion rings, again for missing chili. We were so hungry by this point, just ate and didn't think about it until right before I started writing this review. So, Wayback, you made $3 off me tonight extra, unless you care to credit my card since my picture left the Order# just for you! :) Now, with the negatives out of the way, let's get down to business...was the food good? Despite missing bacon, and sparse mushrooms and grilled onions for the one that needed it, YES. Burgers from days of old were generous with toppings. These seemed a little meh despite the $7-9 price tag. Taste, however, spot on! Not too salty, not bland, flavorful meat and wasn't too greasy off the grill. Onion rings as well were good though they could have stood a bit more temperature on one order vs my freshly made ones. One other thing: portion control. If you're going to forget someone's stuff, at least ensure they're consistent with the order that was there. My wife's onion ring basket was pretty full; mine, I counted 8 in total to her 15! So, hoping for a rebound experience in which I'll bump the review accordingly or take it down a notch if a similar experience happens again. I ordered delivery and it arrived fresh and hot just as described. I ordered chicken tenders with Barbeque sauce and they were really crispy and good. I ordered a Caesar salad with extra dressing. Good quality romaine lettuce with lots of Parmesan cheese plus croutons and two dressings on side so still fresh on arrival. First time trying wayback burgers and I don't think I'll be giving it a 2nd chance, at least not at this location. We were told 12 minute wait and waited about 25 minutes. When we finally got our food, both mine and my bf's order were incorrect. When we took it back to get it fixed, the employee took our already bitten into burgers back and tried to take off/add items to make it correct. We asked if they could just remake our burgers cause my bf ordered no cheese and it had cheese on it. They said it would be another 25 minute wait. So we said forget it, just give us our money back. The hubby and I went to the Mall to give this new burger joint an opportunity to WOW us. I had secretly decided I would probably go to Smee's and let the hubby get his burger. However, when we arrived we noticed that Smee's was no longer in the mall. I was a little sad about this new revelation. So I decided I would give Wayback a try. My hubby ordered a simple burger with lettuce, tomato, cheese etc... He said the burger was very good. Not the best he has ever had, but it apparently didn't seem have a lot of filler, which impressed him. I ordered the cod fish sandwich. It was not bad, but not as wonderful as the burger apparently. The food was extremely hot, which was awesome, as cold food is always one of my biggest pet peeves for a restaurant. We will be back, but this time I will try a burger. read more

Maybe it was me reading all about them. Atmosphere - A Meadowood Mall food so not to exciting. Food Lunch - A burger of course. The Rodeo burger looked great on the menu board. The two patties were juicy, and that was the only thing that saved the burger. Two slices of cheese that were barely melted. Probably were on the flat top for less than ten seconds to melt that cheese. The onion rings were so small they probably would not fit on my finger like a ring. That is fine, rather have them there instead of my ring order. The BBQ sauce was weak and watery, a major let down. Service - Simple, a fast food cashier. He did say they cook to each order when placed so it will be 7 to 8 minutes, it was 9. No biggie that it was 9 minutes. I surprised I did not get the suggestive sale of sides or drinks. I heard some pretty good comments about this place and was so excited to try it out for myself. Sadly, those comments didn't meet the expectations that I was looking for. I ordered their classic burger that had two patties, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, etc. and to be honest, there was really nothing special about it. I mean, of course I got the most basic thing on the menu, but the flavor of the meat itself was pretty bland. I would honestly say this establishment is mediocre. The only thing I did enjoy was the milkshake. A friend that was with me ordered the rodeo burger that also had two patties, cheese, an onion ring, and bbq sauce. He said that it was pretty greasy, which I had also noticed and he said the burger was "alright" we both agreed that we had tasted better. He also ordered a side of chili fries that were pretty tasty. Overall, it's not a place that would cross my mind when I'm craving for something hardy, such as a hamburger. read more
