Richard did an incredible job just now treating our home. I had no idea we had a rodent(s) sneaking into our garage. He saw a hole underneath our garage which I had no clue was there! He noticed my cardboard box in my garage which had a hole from a rodent. I hadn't seen that before! He set up traps and left me a few extras. He also set up a rodent box outside. He has a really good eye for creepy things for sure! I hate rats and mice so I'm glad he was able to see the signs of rodents. He came to do my usual treatment for spiders and ants outside and then noticed this little hole under garage door. He was very professional and kind. He also treated my bathroom for ants cause I had seen some in there recently. I feel relieved knowing these pests are getting dealt with. I started this service in July. I have to say the guys that came out to my house were very professional and polite. I have a very large dog and Blade was very comfortable with him. He explained what he was doing and how the treatment would work. I was very pleased with how well the treatment worked on the ants. However my biggest problem was spiders. According to the flyer the treatment kills spiders. There's a huge picture of a spider on the flyer. My home, garage and around my house have been sprayed twice a month for three months straight and I still have spiders. It wasn't until the manager Ruben came to my home that I learned spiders can only be killed if the treatment is sprayed directly on the spider. WTF, if theres no guarantee that your treatment will kill spiders then why does your flyer say it can? This was very misleading especially since spiders were my main problem. I would recommend this service as long as you don't have spiders 4/1/2016 Follow up to the above review. Not only did the service not work but the company has continually called and harassed me about paying for a service that didn't do what it claimed. read more

The day we moved into our new home we were approached by a representative letting us know there was an ant problem in the area. It wasn't want I wanted to hear, I was already extremely busy and I'm a very skeptical person so I wanted to tell them to go away. But I'm so glad I listened! I had already noticed a ton of ants inside and out so I took a risk a signed up. I got confirmation emails right away and the next day they sent their representative, John Faulkner. He went straight to work, cleaning our eaves (yay!), spraying everywhere, and then he stayed around and took the time to answer all my questions. I felt like I learned a lot and guess what? No ants or spiders! They are all gone and my cats can finally eat their food without ants fighting them for it. Their "promotional price" since they were already spraying everyone else in the area was $49 for the initial visit and $99 every few months after that with a one year contract. Each of the representatives that I have dealt with over the last two years has been a model in professionalism, often arriving exactly at the earliest projected time (from the appointment call the day prior); they have provided us with long-lasting defense throughout our entire yard and house, and gladly give us tips and tricks to better prevent/care for pests in the future; and lastly, they remember you and your family and great to talk to- something that I find to be an overwhelmingly positive aspect in such a customer-service related industry. For instance, the representative today, Tony P. knew to ask about my brother's success in sports and school (a topic he had left off on several months ago, when fighting the first Ant Season), was highly knowledgeable in his trade, and was easy to talk to- and I was blown away! We have had excellent results from our Home Guard treatments and our technician Jef Faulkner. We had ants in the pantry, crawling everywhere; and a problem with silverfish. He found the entry source of the ants immediately , which was up high over a door frame, and treated the inside of the house. We have not seen a silverfish or ant since. He now treats the outside of the house only and does a very thorough job, sweeping cobwebs and spending a great deal of time searching for problem spots outside. read more

I moved into a brand new house Nov of 2011. We had a really bad ant problem and had another company come out to do a one time service. It worked great and had no problems for 6 months. April of 2012, a sales person for Home Guard was going door to door to make his pitch. He was a really nice guy and sold his company very well. I thought with summer coming up, I would sign up for their promotion and quarterly service plan. The initial service, which I was present for, went well and they returned a month later in May, which I wasn't present for, to start the quarterly service. A month later in June, the outside perimeter of the house was infested with ants and I also found ants entering home in the family room and kitchen. I called to setup an appointment, which I was told would be of no charge since it was between quarterly services. I was told there would be a technician at my home at 3pm. At 3:30pm, a technician had yet arrived so I called in. They told me the technician would be there anywhere from 3pm to 5pm. At 5pm, no technician and no phone calls to update me. I called back to cancel that day's appointment and my account with Home Guard. I was very upset that I had wasted two hours waiting for that technician to show up. We had a very large party planned the next day, which I still errands to prepare for. Also, I didn't think we'd have an ant problem after only 1 month of the quarterly service. It makes me think, since I wasn't home for the last service; Was there anything actually done to my home? They gave me a two hour window for the follow up service and did not show up. Was I not a priority since that visit was going to be of no charge? I'm very disappointed with the service and product of this company and thought that I would share my experience. I see other good reviews and maybe my case was an isolated case. None the less, it occurred and should be shared. read more

We hired Home Guard 2 yrs ago this month and we are very pleased with their timely service. I have to call them once for an "ANT emergency" and they had Tony right out. We've had Home Guard do our pest control service for ten years now, ever since we first bought our new home. Our technician, Ruben, does an outstanding Job and we never have to worry about creepy crawlys in or around our home. He comes out every three months and sprays outside, and we virtually have no problem with pests. Very rarely, when it's very hot outsde, we may see a couple of bugs inside the house and Ruben will gladly spray inside as well, and just one treatment eradicates the problem. Although we don't have small children or pets, we do like that they use all natural ingredients. Last year, we took advantage of Home Guard's free termite inspection and Ron sprayed our attic for termites as some wings were found. Now, it's nice to have the peace of mind that we're protected from those destructive insects. Home Guard Pest Control really does a great job and we highly recommend them! read more

Initially when I signed up with Dale he explained that payments for service were set up quarterly, but I requested that they be withdrawn monthly. However, at no time at all did he state that service was also quarterly as well. The product they use is not very affective. I continue to see huge black ants in my backyard that have never gone away, spiders in my house, porch and patio and silverfish throughout my house and garage. It makes no sense that anyone would expect service calls only quarterly when clearly their product is not working. They do offer to come in between services if you see bugs, which is definitely the case, but why am I paying for something that doesn't work! You are way better off taking care of it yourself! Don't buy into this company. Unfortunately, for now I'm stuck in a contract, otherwise I have to pay the remaining service agreement plus pay a $100 penalty. read more

Just had the first service finished at my house. The technician, Richard, was so nice and patient with all of our questions, the service was very thorough and I am glad I had them over to take care of all the bugs around the house. Previously we had Ben over to get us on board and explain the details of the services, he gave us a great price and a comprehensive explanation on why we get so many bugs around.
