I really love Wegmans. You really have to be aware of when you go because your experience can vary greatly. Mostly with how busy that it gets. Early Sunday mornings are the best if you cannot go early on a weekday. They have a large amount of prepared food that only require warming up. They have a massive hot/cold bar that can be very expensive if you are not careful. A great upstairs seating area with live music on Friday. How awesome is that! read more

It's been quite some time since I've had a visit to Wegmans. I see a lot of improvement since my first visit but I think it's just ok.

Do not use instacart!! It is a complete failure. I got the wrong order. Not even one thing that I ordered was in the bags. The man who brought the groceries to the car did not bring an invoice or any list of items. He said he knew it was our order because our care was the right type and color. All the plastic bags were tightly knotted so we were not able to open and check them until we got home. The jacked up prices and extra fees are way too much. We got a bunch of odd stuff that we do not want and does not equal the charge that would have applied to my credit card. I could not get through to Instacart on the phone. Wegman's said there was nothing that could be done to help us on their end. read more

I placed an order, saw on line that it was ready went to get it and they don't have it and still 3 days later I don't have my order BUT they charged my credit card and I can't get a hold of anyone at Wegmans or Instacart to get my money refunded. Love this place I shop here every Monday things i love consist of parking garage if it rains who cares the hot food bar love it that is a must to check out. Family value is great too I have four kids so buying in bulk is a must. Always have a ton of cashiers on. The only bad thing that happened to me there was I bought lunch meat got home and left it there went back and told them what happened and the customer service person said grab another and bring it to me I did so and next thing you know I am on my way home with my lunch meat no hassle I will continue to support this business!!! read more

Overall this is an excellent grocery store. Great selection of everything. Prices are generally good and WEGMANS brand items are superior, particularly the peanut butter which I pick up every time I go there. Used to love the Club Pack of chicken breast but they do not carry them as such anymore. I asked a meat clerk why they stopped the Club Packs and got a pretty absurd answer. "The packaging drives up the cost of the chicken breasts so we decided to quit doing them". GEE, That was clear as mud! WHAT? I love the produce. It's always fresh and attractive. Frozen Food Dept offers a wide choice. Now for the bad part of the store! The Market Cafe is a FARCE!! I will never go there again! While the food is tasty, you really have to watch how you pile it on your "elegant" styrofoam container, or you will incur a War Debt at their ridiculous check out stand. The food is priced by weight!! Who the heck thinks this is a good way to buy a sit down dinner? It's an absolutely dishonest way to run a restaurant! The three of us have gone in this place and run up a bill in excess of $50 which is terrible! You can do better at Jason's Deli across the street. Also bad is the way the cafe let's the entrees run out close to their closing time which I think is 7pm. If you get there at 6:45 the selection is meager and nasty looking. My gripe? What about people who want to have dinner after 7pm? Screwed? Go someplace else? I absolutely HATE this part of Wegmans! If you can't do better, just close this pitiful cafe down. It's just not handy in its present form and it is priced to RIP OFF. read more

Wegmans hosted a crab fest/crab truck on 9-28-19. The crabs were way to small to medium/large. I reserved in advance and was very disappointed.They were very light in weight, this is the time of year when the crabs should be heavy. I WILL NOT WASTE MY MONEY AGAIN! read more

We used Wegmans curbside pick up through instacart yesterday. When I arrived the groceries were brought out in about 10 minutes. As the employee, Cam, was loading my groceries into my car he asked if I had a receipt because the number of bags on the cart seemed to be one short. I advised him I did not because my wife ordered them and I was picking it up on my way home from work. He did not have a receipt readily available either and told me he believes we did not get a bag but it could be an error. He then makes the decision that "if your missing anything give us a call back and I'll deliver it to you." I said Ok and he took down some contact info and as he apologized I informed him it's no problem and I appreciate the honesty about the potential mistake. When I arrived home my wife made a list of the groceries we were missing and I called back to speak to Cam. I advised him of the groceries we were missing he took down the list and said he'd be by shortly. Within 30-40 mins Cam was at my door not only with the groceries and a few extra items (double the amount of angus burgers, fruits, and vegetables) but he had a $20 wegmans gift card and apology to go with it about the mistake. This was so refreshing. I understand mistakes happen and most customers just want companies to own up to them and make them right. He didn't need to add the extra stuff, delivering the groceries was good enough. The fact that they did the rest turns a short negative story into a positive raving about how happy they are with their customer service. Great Job Cam for going above and beyond! I hope Wegmans corporate recognizes your outstanding attitude and customer service. read more

The negative about this place obviously isn't the Wegmans itself but it's the parking. I've had so many problems with parking trying to find a spot people in the way it gets a little hectic. The grocery store is also hectic but that's what I would expect with so many food options. What I love about Wegmans are there prepared food they have so many different kinds there's lots to choose from so if you're someone with not a lot of time you can bring home dinner every night. This Wegmans has an amazing selection of vegan and gluten-free items if you're searching for a specialty product this Wegmans probably has it though I will say they run out of these pretty fast. If you're coming on a Friday or Saturday most likely if it's a specialty product they may be sold out by the weekend. Either way I'd like the spot I love Wegmans I'm from upstate New York where Wegmans is from but these are way nicer than the ones I'm used to.? read more

Wegmans is consistently rated as a top-of-the-notch supermarket, and this one is no exception. The store is huge, has two levels, an extensive selection of foods (a good variety of gourmet foods), and specialty options (Burger Bar, Asian Bar, Salad Bar, Cafe, Hot foods, Deli, Bakery, Pizza, Sushi, etc.). The place was very busy on Friday afternoon, and the cafeteria section was full of people getting lunch. From the cafeteria entrance, the smell of so many amazing foods overwhelms you as you walk in (and out), and it's easy to spend quite some time browsing the aisles. For example, they had Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles gummies from England--something you don't find at typical grocery stores. (A sweet delicacy such as this is worth the $4.50 for a 1 oz. box.) Greek dried figs, British crumpets, and natural almond-coconutmilk were also nice finds. Definitely recommended for a complete grocery shopping experience. read more

I ordered a birthday cake from Wegmans in Columbia Maryland. I paid extra money to have fresh strawberries in the middle of the cake. When I cut into the cake, there were very few slices of strawberries. One slice of cake only had two very thin slices of strawberries. In addition there was no icing in the middle, just a few fresh strawberries. I will never again pay extra for a cake with fresh fruit in the middle from Wegmans in Columbia, Maryland. read more

My wife and I are Wegman's fans, but this location specifically is deserving of five stars. The produce is fully stocked and very fresh. Once youre familiar with the layout, the wide space makes for quick shopping. If you're preference is enjoying the experience, there's plenty of options for browsing with free samples given throughout the day. The cafe is the best for a grocery location. Wegmans is probably the best overall supermarket in the area. The buffet area is very good with plenty of choices. They keep in stocked and it's very reasonably priced. The grocery selection is awesome too as they have a mix of organic food along with the standard offerings. Some of the other grocery stores like Giant, Safeway, Trader Joes and even Whole Foods need to look at what Wegmans is doing and adopt some of their good ideas. read more

I used to live in Bel Air and was quickly losing interest in Wegmans in Abingdon. I moved closer to this store and tried them out and this is what I have found after probably 6 trips. The basic faults are the same store to store. The meat is pricey and prepackaged (vacuum sealed). The thing is, unless you get from the butcher, the meat is sort of flavorless. The beef from Giant or Safeway tastes way better and is usually cheaper. Same for the pork. Chicken is chicken. The much touted fresh bread has little flavor. The baguettes and French and Italian breads are cheaper at Safeway and giant and taste better. The seafood is good, but you pay premium for it. I waited to get assistance, but a manager was busy talking to the staff and I was ignored. I bought some jumbo lump crabmeat and when I put it in crabcakes that evening, the texture was... Mushy. I mean the meat itself was mushy. Just before Christmas I was in and was looking at their Godiva Chocolate display. I had questions about payment and the items in the case. 5 employees were clustered around chatting and I had to break it up to ask for help. Awkward. What's funny about that is there was a tray of samples for customers and I want offered any. Lastly, this is Columbia, Maryland and the customers had that"I am so awesome and I shop at Wegmans" attitude. Very similar to Trader Joe's clientele. There is something of a shortage of good supermarkets in the area, but far and above the best I have found is Safeway on route 40 just inside the beltway. Excellent bakery items, good butcher, good produce, and wonderful staff. read more

The store overall is amazing but has a serious problem. The prices are excellent the selection is amazing and the prepared food above par. I would highly recommend the sub bar better and better value than most sub shops. However the deli department ruins my entire trip. The closest experience I can compare it to is communist Russian bread lines. Standing with 10 other frustrated customers at 9:30 in the morning on a weekday is not my idea of bonding. And Saturdays I pick a number finish my other shopping and return to my place in line to find the numbers have barely moved. Even buying the precut deli meat doesn't help as weighing and placing a tag still takes several minutes. If you don't need deli meat I cannot recommend it highly enough. Just bring a good book if you want sliced turkey. read more

I wish we had a Wegmans in Chicago. I was living in Columbia when this first opened. I love this place, and it's huge. You can find all the normal groceries that you need, plus all the different types of fresh meats, organic products, produce, and all the different salad/food bars. There is also plenty of parking, even though getting in and out can be a little hectic. I always look forward to coming here when I visit my family. read more

I like this store (for the most part) but......its been a disappointment for the last couple of years. Oftentimes the produce is not the freshest. The Produce Dept has been a big let down, produce is oftentimes not in the best of shape and not stocked well at all. I've heard other people I know say that the Weg's in Hunt Valley is much better (Produce Dept). I've found much fresher and better stocked produce at Green Valley in Elkridge. Today I bought fresh ground chuck from the Meat Dept display. The meat turned out great but the young man did not wear gloves when he dipped into the pile to gather a one pond order for me. He only used a very small, thin square sheet of plastic ( something like wax paper) to get it out to put on the scale. I was shocked and watched closely that he didn't touch the meat with his bare hands. I almost told him to disregard the order. For some reason they no longer carry Poppy Seed Bread (a sweet polish type bread). That's been a big let down too. One last thing, they used to have a big chocolate display in the front next to the Pharmacy, it's gone now. This is the best grocery store in the area. The Wegman's brands taste better than most of the name brand products and is considerably less expensive. Their produce is much better than the local Giants or safeways. They only bad thing I can say is that the lower level parking lot is crazy when the store is busy. Wegmans is always the best store, but this one also has the best employees! Sara Beth was incredibly helpful -- after checking for us and finding out the store was sold out of rock salt, she led us to water softener salt pellets, which apparently can be used the same way! Then she advised us as to where we could still buy a snow shovel at 9:00 at night. Awesome! read more
