Panini and tomato basil soup on the patio.

I did not realize everything at TG Farmers Market closes at 1230! I was looking for something close by and oddly enough I could have walked here for as far away as my car was. I was so excited about the concept of this place. Cute patio, very cute inside, very clean bathroom. A menu full of panini options and alcohol if I so desired at 1230 on a Saturday. I opted for coffee instead. I found a spot on the patio and waited for my food. No way around it, my experience was not great. The coffee had a very strange, after taste and my panini, while delightful on the outside edges was cold in the middle. I did enjoy the tomato basil soup and I would come back if we're in the area and give them another shot. It is in a great location for sure.

Well Met was so cozy to me during my visit that I stayed from coffee to wine time! I posted up here to do some major "head down work" and the atmosphere was perfect. With my headphones in and the natural light through the windows, I found myself being so productive with a coffee early afternoon that I treated myself to a glass of wine in the afternoon. Such a great spot to work, chill, meet friends, grab a drink. Highly recommend!

Stopped in here during my Sunday stroll around Shaw. The cafe was adorable and I got a delicious latte to take with me on my walk. It seemed like the perfect spot to get some work done and there's also a nice patio in front to sit outside! The barista was friendly and made my latte very fast.

Located in the vibrant Shaw neighborhood, Well Met Café is a buzzing hotspot that more than lives up to its name. It's packed with happy patrons. On my visit, I ordered the Morty breakfast panini, and it's a must-try. Perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with cheese, it was pure comfort food at its finest. I paired it with a warm bowl of tomato soup and it became the ideal duo to ward off the chill of a freezing snow day. Put Well Met Café on your list.

Such a cozy and unique spot! The menu is creatively themed, with items named after TV show and movie characters--it was fun looking up the ones I didn't recognize. I went with the Marcus Aurelius (Caesar salad) and, on the cashier's recommendation, tried the Polite Society chili. Both were fantastic, but the chili deserves a special shoutout--I could have licked the bowl clean! The café itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe, making it a perfect spot to grab a snack or apps before a date night. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Another spot on my list can be checked off and then revisited again and again! Ended up here after the Best of Missouri Market at the Botanical Gardens and so glad we did. Nice outdoor patio with tables but opted to eat inside. Order at the counter and then find a seat. Pretty space, open and airy. Lots to choose from but I ended up with the Vito Corleone minus the cheese, a side of Well Met Chili, and couldn't pass up fried potato salad out of the cold case. I was a little nervous that the panini was going to be too buttery for me (I know, I am strange, but I am picky about butter!) but it was perfect! Full of great flavor, crispy, not greasy. The chili was great, loved the beans and the beef flavor. The fried potato salad had a great flavor, it was a little dry but I would order again, the flavor was so good. Counter server was great, and the manager chatted with us and was very pleasant. Relaxing atmosphere, great service, and great food, definitely garners repeat visits.

Perfect stop after the farmers market. Good, simple food with fresh local ingredients

This cafe has a great location, and I appreciate the later hours when so many coffee shops close early! That said, it leaves a lot to be desired. Went there to do some work and the music was way too loud and a strange mix of songs for such a small space. Ordered the Morty Smith sandwich - honestly a huge disappointment after reading good reviews. Way too expensive for what you get. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if I pay $11 for a breakfast sandwich (after tax + tip), I kind of expect the egg to be real. Instead, you get what I assume is powdered egg that looked premade based on the strange sheen on the edges, a bit of spring mix, avocado, a single tomato slice, cheese and sauce. The bread was really good though! Idk if I'll be back~

So excited that this spot opened up!! They have great hours 7-7 so if you want to stop by for a bite to eat for any meal or grab and coffee to work or hang out they have you covered. My first time coming we grabbed two paninis: Vito Corleone and Claire Huxtable. Both were so good we didn't stop to take photos of them. I can't wait to try more cause everything on the menu sounds delicious! The mocha was perfect for a nice sunny day like today when you're out for a walk.

An amazing addition to the Shaw neighborhood! The panini I had was delicious and filling and the lavender latte was quality and well made! The vibes are great and there is a lot of seating inside as well as outside. There is Wifi and plenty of outlets inside. The person taking my order was pleasant and I got both my drink and panini very quickly. Definitely will become one of my go to places!

Beautiful corner cafe nearby Tower Grove Park. We went on a Saturday morning after the farmers market. Beautifully decorated with updates and seating was plentiful inside and out. All things considered. Super quick service by really kind staff. The menu was humorous and got your attention! They had both breakfast and lunch items. We had two huge sandwiches- Rueben and Italian. Both very tasty! We will be back again soon to try out coffee drinks.

I liked the space. Casual but felt upscale. The sandwiches were good. Soup was also good. It's a walk up counter ordering kind of deal.

I was already familiar with Upshot Coffee's game from a visit to their Clayton location a few weeks…read moreago. I tried the breakfast burrito, and it honestly changed my life. I was able to get off drugs and reconnect with my family as the result of eating a burrito. You can imagine my excitement, then, when it was announced that a group I run with was meeting at this Tower Grove South location. I wasn't crazy about getting up early the day after America's 250th birthday, and there was the slight possibility that I'd barf during my run around Tower Grove Park (people might think I was back on drugs), but I was willing to risk it for the, erm, burrito. Actually, it occurred to me that I might try something else, for the sake of citizen food journalism. Then my decision was made for me when I saw that they carry a bagel with lox. I've eaten literally a million bagels with lox, going back to the 1980s, but only either at home or at places that aren't very good, like Einstein Bros. Alas, I was informed that the bagel with lox was currently unavailable, because they were out of lox. Which struck me as odd, given that lox is not served fresh. It's not like they had to go pull it out of the water that morning or have it flown in from Alaska, packed in ice. Was there a run on the lox due to a nearby media-industry convention? Did they accidentally leave it sitting out overnight? I imagine that would smell crazy. I went with the Everything, which may have been the better choice anyway. Named after the famous bagel seasoning, it's essentially a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel with cream cheese and a tomato. But describing it that way doesn't really do it justice. You have to attempt to wrap your lips around it in order to truly appreciate it. No Diddy. It's the bagel-sandwich equivalent of their legendary burrito, and it might be just as good. The bacon and egg are perfectly cooked, with the egg just slightly underdone and the bacon nice and crisp but still with a little bit of chew. The helping of cream cheese is weirdly generous, to the point where just the cream cheese on a bagel would be a fairly substantial sandwich. The tomato, which was a little bit tart, made for a nice accent. It comes wrapped in one of those diapers they used to use on some of the bigger burgers at Hardee's, to keep it from falling apart the moment you try to bite into it. You'd still eat all the individual elements using your fingers, because you're a savage and because they're that good, but it wouldn't be the same. It's a testament to the thoughtfulness and the ingenuity of the kitchen staff at Upshot that they thought to do that.
