Ordered last night for the family on the suggestion of a neighbor. Probably the worst take out I've had in a long time. You'd think in these times restaurants, especially new ones would make double the effort to make sure everything was correct. They completely forgot my daughter's meal so had to make dinner while eating dinner. They burger was under cooked and needed to be cooked further, the onion rings looked like sauteed onions. Outstanding outdoor dining experience tonight at Welly's. I'm a nervous Nelly because of covid and I felt safe at Welly's. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and wore masks. Our delightful server was Hayden and he was terrific. They are keeping the outdoor environment super clean and everything seemed very safe. I made a reservation early in the day and I was glad I did. Outdoor seating was lovely. I had a blood orange margarita and my husband had a beer. We put in an order of nachos while we looked at the menu. They came out quickly and were great! We both ordered the $2 tacos. Broiled fish was excellent. We can't wait to return!!! read more

I have been to Welly's several times during the pandemic and they have always been timely and very easy to pick up. Each time I mean to write a review because the effort they go to deserves to be mentioned and applauded. Their food is consistently good. Hard to miss. I'm so glad to have them in Hudson! went for lunch last Friday ang got the Gaucho Steak Tip Sandwich. First the good onion rings were ok. The sandwich had about 2 ounces on this grizzly tough meat and by the first bite the sandwhich was soggy dripping with grease. read more

Had the Server Gabby - she was as bland as the raw chicken they served me. I ordered a coke which tasted somewhat like a root beer or a rum&coke, server guaranteed it was coke - I sent it back and she still charged me. The fried pickles and sweet chili cauliflower was good and the food came out fast, but the fajita bowl tasted like hand soap, no flavor other than that and the chicken was raw and had a yellow outside tint so I let her know and asked to take it away - she said sorry twice and still charged me. - I asked to speak to a manager she left and came back with the soda off the Bill and told me to have a great "life". Also, we only received a chef's special list of 6 entrees all more than $19, when there was a full menu being served all around and people with different food items than listed. - We learned afterward from another waitress that there was Thursday $2 tacos and another menu - Thank you Maggie! read more

Ate outdoors with my girlfriend and another couple who are good friends of ours. Many of the tables are close to each other, with chairs back to back or little distance between tables side by side. No social distancing going on here. Tables that turned over were not wiped down before the next people were seated. Pre-Covid-19, in general, restaurants would have someone spray some cleaner and wipe down a table before seating the next diners. This is not a new thing. During the current worldwide pandemic, it seems most restaurants wipe tables extra and the chairs. This restaurant doesn't wipe down and clean anything. I mentioned this to the manager and she just said, "yeah, we have to be careful". That was it. No employees wore masks, including everyone I saw handling and preparing food and drinks. As I past other restaurants walking nearby, all employees that I saw, wore masks. I stopped at a grocery store on the way home; all employees wore masks. The food ranged from very good, to okay to poor/bland as could be. The service was excellent. The outdoor area is setup very nice, although I didn't notice any music. But, the heavy truck and other traffic on the roundabout, just feet from the tables, is just too loud and too much for a nice relaxing time. Plenty of fumes, too. read more

The food was delicious but our service wasn't the best. A group of us came in for a birthday lunch, three of us had out-of-state licenses and as protocol, the server asked to see some extra identification and took our id's and credit cards back to the bar. The manager comes back about 10 minutes later and tells us that our 27 year old friend's id had a little damage on it so..they can't serve her any alcohol. It wasn't a huge deal to her because she's not an alcoholic and we didn't drive out and hour to the tiny town to sneak alcohol and get drunk. The annoying part was that the server (who told us her barely 21 year old age) told us that we all LOOKED young (all of us in our mid-to late twenties) so she assumed we were using fake id's and tried to be chummy with us about it. No girl, we were there celebrating my 28th birthday (that's almost 30 years old) and you annoyed all of us by assuming we were younger than you. While we understand you were just doing your job, we just didn't appreciate being accused of using fake id's by our server and the manager. read more

I took my grandmother for dinner on Tuesday night and we had Tim as a waiter. My grandmother has Alzheimer's and has trouble with her words at times and eats very slow, Tim could not have been more patient or kind with us. He intently and patiently listened to her and helped her with the menu. We ordered salads to start and he paid attention to her progress with her salad and waited to put the dinner order in so that she had enough time to eat her salad. Not only was Tim's service AMAZING but so was the food!! The Shepherd's pie (that Tim recommended) was incredible. Do not reserve a table at Wellys using their website and expect it to be honored. Reserved a table yesterday morning at 10:30. At 5:00 Wellys called to say they couldn't fit us in which left us scrambling to finish a meeting and find somewhere else to eat before one of our party had to leave for the airport. I don't know who I'm angrier with - Wellys or Open Table who their website defaults to for reservations. One thing for sure - Wellys is now on my list of restaurants to be avoided at all costs and I will NEVER use Open Table again to reserve at any restaurant. read more

There's lots to like about Willys in Hudson. We have tried several of the appetizers, dinners, sandwiches, pizza and salads. Mostly every time everything is great. That's my issue consistency, they're not always consistent on how things are served. For example the blue cheese dressing it's different every time, sometimes good, sometimes not good. The restaurant was able to sit us outside right away, where they have outdoors heaters and plenty of tables available. My party and I both ordered the fish tacos with fries, hers broiled and mine fried. Super good! Our waiter seemed new to the job but was still attentive. The manager (assuming) was very active with the customers, asking how the meals were and if we needed anything. I would have given Wellys a five...they lost two stars for service. The service was good. The server just missed one important thing. She did not come and check to see if everything was okay. The nachos came with no chili. So that is how we ate them. It was a small mistake that could gave been easily fixed. We arrived at 3:00...so they were not super busy for a Thursday afternoon. The quesadilla was the best I ever had. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. The restrooms are spotless. This is a TRAINING issue. They were slow when we were dining there. They were just starting to get busy when we were departing. We also had a turkey club sandwich and a piece of cheescake. Everything was very good. I have no idea why it has taken me this long to write a review. But I know I just have to. Welly's is like my 100% favorite local spot to eat. The food is just spot on all the time and the service is 10/10 all the time. My servers have been so great, from Maggie to Uli. My husband and I have been here once a week so far and it's not only for the food but the ambiance/vibe. MUST GO AND MUST EAT. I love all the food that I have gotten so far. Taco Thursdays are a must. And Wing Sundays. Sometimes there's a wait, but trust me.. it's 1000% worth it to wait. Eat here and you won't regret it. It is a Hudson jewel. read more

I'm so glad to have another great restaurant option in Hudson that isn't Railtrail! I have been here 3 times and each time the food has been amazing and the staff even better. My first time I got the Caesar salad and it was great, both other times I got the chicken carbonara and it is amazing. They sauce is light and doesn't make you feel heavy, they give you a ton of amazing chicken, and the bacon isn't overpowering at all. Tried Welly's in Hudson last night for the first time with my wife. It was our anniversary and we just wanted to do something casual and nearby. Not impressed. First and foremost the place was busy and clearly the air conditioning could not keep up and we spent the entire meal sweating. The waiter was inexperienced and not good. Never offered us water and didn't realize we hadn't ordered until we told him. The food was mediocre. The apps, avocado egg rolls and spicy cauliflower were decent. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos but thought the onion rings that came with them were sloppy and didn't eat them. Shepherd's Pie was ok but tasted like the veggies were just a bag of frozen mixed veggies that we make our kids at home. Beer menu was lacking any creativity. Overall it wasn't horrible but we didn't enjoy it. Might go again someday with the kids (outside only) with low expectations but never on a date night again. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars as a courtesy for the pizza being at least decent. Avoid the steak tips at all costs unless you have a chainsaw to cut it and razor blades for teeth to chew it. Also, unless you have 3 hours to spare, do not even bother to come here. After being seated, the waitress introduced herself and brought water. She neglected to tell us there were three different menus so we sat there the entire time looking at the specials menus instead of being provided the full one. After waiting 15 mins without the first waitress coming back , I flagged down another one who got us a new one. We then were shown the full menu and ordered. The margherita pizza was very greasy but the dough was cooked nicely. After eating, we waited another 15 mins to check out which the manager had to help with. They were easily over capacity and couldn't handle the volume. We felt like hostages. Again, unless you want to make eating supper an all day affair, stay clear of this place. read more
