I remember when Wendy's was a good find off the beaten path of the regular and mundane fast food joints. Now, it's hit and miss. I always get my fries with NO SALT so I can have them fresh rather than whatever they are sitting there in a sea of salt underneath the eternal, moisture-zapping lights that take away the glory of crunchy exterior and supple interior. I think their burgers were better a while back or it may just be that my tastebuds have become more refined. Nevertheless, if their burgers were graded in school, they would pass but would not make the honor roll. The one exception for me would be their chicken burgers. Decent. It's the fries and the frosties that keep this place open around the country. It's not their service. It's not their decor. It's not their speed and efficiency. My local Wendy's has two registers! Really. Talk about design flaw. You are not even giving your employees and customers a chance to get it right. When I came last, the line was almost out the door and there was only one register open. Too bad. I take off a star for that. I take off another star for having to re-order my fries because they left salt on there the first time. 3 stars out of 5 is not good or bad. It's mediocre and accurate. Don't get me wrong. It's a decent spot. There's a reason there is a line. Wait in line, get a Frosty, and order some fries (with no salt) and add your own. read more

Just left from what was a nice lunch. Excellent service and good food. So the bad review is partly based on customer stupidity and poor management. Two ladies came in with their small "emotional support" dog. This is annoying enough that dogs are allowed in indoor food establishments but the woman had the dog in her lap and proceeded to feed the dog directly from the table which then allowed him to lick and sniff the table where other patrons eat from. Yes, tables are wiped down but sometimes not with the right cleaners. Management should walk the dining room and address things like this. Needless to say, we left and won't be back. read more

I came in today with my husband and kids , I got meals for us and also bought, kids frosty Keychain. I had asked for kids frosty's I had two different orders. I only got one free frosty and told I couldn't get another one when even though it says on the key chain free frosty per transaction. The cashier young girl was rude about it. Very unprofessional. This Santa Maria Wendys in on a newer strip mall. It's really nice inside! The restroom is a mess but when you have many people in and out it's hard to keep clean. There's seating with a fireplace. I don't think I've ever seen that in a Wendys! We eat a Wendys whenever we travel. I love their biggie bags. It's a good deal plus I always use their app. There's always a $5 off $25 coupon. When we first walked in to the establishment, the girl that was working behind the counter was kind of rude. My wife ordered the chicken nuggets and was trying to decide which sauce she wanted, and the lady that was working behind the counter didn't say we have whatever kind of sauces that they have so she's like I guess I'll just take sweet-and-sour so she acted like she didn't even wanna help. Second complaint is my hamburger was so dry. I've never had a Wendy's hamburger. That was that dry before definitely a decline and the food. I had to drink a lot just to be able to eat the cheeseburger and it was so paper thin so I think it was overcooked. I'm not wanting to normally complain about restaurants and I didn't take it back up to get another one, but we will won't visit there again and if this continues with other Wendy's, then we know the quality of the food has definitely gone downhill. read more

I mainly use the Wendy app to order my food. I had earn enough points to get a free Jr burger. I used my points but the app would only show me breakfast items. Went in to get help and no one could help. Now I love Wendy's and their chili. Lately each time I've gone it hasn't been a great experience. Chili cold ask for chili pack and I get home and I have a bag of crackers. Well chili can always be reheated but it's not the same without the spicy chili pack. read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. My wife and I were traveling through the area and stopped at 5:50 in the evening. When we arrived I noticed there was one cat in the drive-threw and no other cars in the parking area. My wife and I joked "this is scary"! We went to the counter and ordered and immediately noticed the counter was filthy. We ordered our food and went into the dinning area, which was also filthy. Literally every table and booth was filthy. The floors had not been cleaned or swept in some time: I asked the person behind the counter to clean the table and it took the person 4 minute to find the cleaning solution to clean the table. I say all that to make the point if they are this lazy to clean the front areas where the customers eat. How bad is the food preparation areas? When I approached the manager, I was told I didn't understand. They were short staffed. Yet they had six or seven employees not doing much when I entered the restaurant. So I called the Wendy's number on the receipt and was told the General Manager would call me back. I have never heard from him or anyone else. Placed an order through their app, when I arrived at the restaurant they did not have all the items on the order and the manager refused to issue a refund, had to wait until the next morning to call a service number who continued to refuse to issue a timely refund or get in contact with anyone at the local franchise who could. Instead of having a simple process at the store to issue refunds they want customers to jump through hoops for something that should be simple to do and handled at the store. Now I've had to escalate the issue and contact my bank for what should have been a simple and easy refund. Definitely will not be returning. read more

This was a standard Wendy's to me. I really like their side salads and baked potatoes. In my opinion Wendy's has better options and quality food than most other fast food restaurants. However, it is still fast food so you can't really expect it to be like a sit down restaurant. I had an average drive through experience- it was pretty fast, staff was relatively friendly and pleasant, got my food quickly and was on my way. Nothing was wrong with my order. Stopped to get gas at Costco and wanted something to eat. Fries sounded greasy so thought a baked potato would hit the spot. Went into Wendy's and ordered a baked potato and a burger. The burger was good. The baked potato was baked well. But the dining room was a mess. It reminded me of the one I had a been in while on the road a few days before. That one was also in Santa Maria but on the north side of town. Then it dawned on me. It must be the same franchisee. If I was Wendy's I'd pull the stores from this franchisee. Wendy's Bradley location ! The worst possible service experience ever. I made an order , the attendant even offered me to purchase upgraded lemonade and a 99Cent cookie , Wait for 20 mins in the drive , we are all short handed so i get it . Not one time was i warned when i pulled in the drive thru they just let people , Pull in and get trapped in line ! That the CC machine was down. Just a sign would have averted the frustration. I get to the window and I'm told .. WE TOLD YOU CASH ONLY !! what ?? Ordered a #6 (spicy chicken sandwich combo) in drive thru today &what a mistake that was. The sandwich was hot, and that is the only positive thing I can say about today's experience. The fries were visibly old as though they had been sitting all day, so I sent them back. TWICE. I parked &walked inside to watch them drop a fresh batch which I waited for to finally enjoy the food I originally ordered. This Wendy's is gross. The dining room floor looks like it hasn't been vacuumed let alone cleaned in years. The table tops were also dirty full of scraps and fingerprints. The bathrooms are cheaply put together but that's not as big a deal as the filth around the sinks and toilets. If this is what you see out in open in the dining room what does the kitchen look like? This is my guilty pleasure fast food spot. I live 20 miles away, so it's a very occasional meal. As far as fast food goes, it's one of the only places that a.) has a gluten sensitive menu b.) won't make me sick and c.) actually tastes somewhat decent. My go to is a cheese baked potato and a chili. I wouldn't eat this every day, the sodium will hurt my joints for days, but it's decent for fast food... Total was $7.13, I give her $20.13 and verbally tell her that. A minute later she returns with a bag and says thank you. "Where is my change?" she: "OH dint I give you your change?" Ive been a Wendy's patron for over 25 yrs, and the Santa maria location is one of the cleanest and friendliest ones ivre ever dined in -I'm sure ive been to nearly a dozen different locations. I fond out by inquiring that it is a locally owned operated franchise, not a corporate store -so they definitely do the Thomas Family proud. I the previous poster's comments were totally unjust -so what if the store has a lot of attractive counter persons they're the ones meeting and greeting each and every customer -and are they friendly? YES! -the woman that cleans the dining area is most likely in her 60's the night manager is very heavy set so you cant say they discriminate -and as for the Spanish comment -you live and apply for work in an area that is predominantly Latino finding a job working with the public is gonna be hard to come by if you not bi-lingual read more

Great food. Salads are really good, alot of variety when your looking for something light but forget about customizing them cuz they never listen. Don't get me wrong, but I love Wendy's, always have, and always will, but I admit I was a little disappointed when I went in last night. It was cold, and rain was coming, so I wanted some good ole hot chili and baked potato. Customer service was fine, except the young lady seemed not to know what she was doing, maybe new. So I ordered a large chili with cheese and onions, along with hot packets of their wonderful chili sauce and a baked potato. The potato was still big, so I was happy, but the chili disappointed me. I took it to go. I got home, and the chili wasn't hot at all as my cheese never melted, so I had to pop it in the microwave, got it hot, took a bite, and some of the beans were still very firm. I had to ask for the sour cream and hot packets and I didn't get crackers or butter to go with my chili, which is a must when it comes to chili, good thing I had the stuff I needed at home. read more
