I eat at Wens Cafe delivery once a month. The food is actually pretty good for the Pfluggerville and Hutto area. Its definitely not an expensive restaurant or upscale place. My issue is they want to charge dinner prices for lunch on Valentines day after I drive my car to eat lunch. I specifically came to eat lunch during the day. You own a business and our free to make decisions. I could understand if you are an upscale Chineese restaurant. However no other business does this. Wen's a decent Chinese joint gonna open in pflugerville?! If you've been around the Chinese food block, you know what snares are waiting for you in the landscape of crappy restaurants out there. Soggy, rubbery meat, drab, cornstarchy sauce, mayo- based, crabless rangoon. Well you can check every box here. That last one you can check twice. When they brought it out, the filling looked sketchy, but abundant. Upon dissection, it appears that they dipped the shell in the filling after folding it and frying it. The cavity inside was completely devoid of filling. "Well, hopefully it's not that mayo $#!+," I encouraged myself. Well, I should have been so lucky, because it seems that the filling had more of a Miracle Whip flavor. That condiment warrants several mass executions in my opinion but, even if you like the Devil's mayonnaise, I'd wager you don't want it in your Chinese food. I still feel bad for the waitress I asked to take it away (whom I left a good tip because the service was great. Star #1). She looked like she really felt responsible somehow. Sorry lady, it wasn't your fault their Rangoon sucks. I'm really sorry to all you north Austin Din-Hopefuls, but this not the Nirvana we were waiting for. The food is good and comes with a nice portion. Bathrooms were very clean so another plus. Our server was not very friendly, and we had to ask for settings, chopsticks, napkins, etc. We had the Mongolian beef , Kung pro triple, moos shu pork and crab rangoons. My son was too full to eat the wonton soup, which he left until the end. The hot and sour soup I had was delicious, not too spicy with a hint of sour. They get better each time we try them. The first time we tried them, we went and ate there for lunch and they were just not good. Opening pain maybe. Second time we ordered delivery and they were good but the General's chicken was inedible. I don't know what what wrong but each piece of chicken was off in a different way. I think the chicken was prepared and cooked earlier in the day then heated up in the microwave which makes the chicken rubbery and odd tasting. The third time was fantastic. Keep it up. read more

I tried this local restaurant for the first time and was pleasantly impressed with the menu and the food I ordered. I order the shrimp fried rice, orange chicken w/fried rice, and chicken egg rolls. The food was cooked fresh at the time of order, the portions were a good size. With my food selections the things I wish were different were the spiceyness (i.e., very hot spice), and the chicken egg roll could have been fried a little more. So-so. The place was dirty and nearly empty when I went on a weeknight around 9pm. The portions were pretty huge, but the food was a bit forgettable, so we ended up throwing out the leftovers after they sat untouched in our fridge for a few days. This is purely for customer service. A successful business would not do something this stupid. I was excited to order food from this new restaurant in town. After I gave them my home address, they told me that my home is more than 4 miles away from their location. So I asked the lady where did she see it and what app did she use. Apparently we are both using Google map. Mine says 2 miles after filtered avoid toll, highways. She denied my statement and she said it will take longer because there is traffic and they need take longer route? I'm sorry, Google map has already indicated the traffic for you and that's why you see "red" on the road! I will never order from this restaurant again!! It all started with me calling the restaurant because there was nowhere to choose or put a note that I wanted a large sweet and sour sauce. So the man that I spoke to that goes by the name Freddie was rude when I called to add that to my order. I explained to him that very reason. Freddie said he'll give me the large sweet and sour sauce this time while. He was chastising me that I need to put it in the notes next time , even though I told him why I wasnt able to for some reason on my doordash order. The food gets delivered. First they left it on the bench and didnt ring the doorbell. So my food was barely even warm because it was outside in the cold weather. I called back and asked for a manager regarding not having the sweet and sour sauce and Freddie said he was the manager. He has an attitude the whole time,doesn't listen, and doesn't care. This is a nice place that serves good food at a reasonable price. They have a nice selection of dishes on the menu. The egg drop soup is hot and tasty. The tangerine beef is as spicy or mild as you request. It is clean and the service is good. Do not waste your time or money at this place. I'm pretty sure they don't make anything fresh or from scratch. I ordered the orange chicken... It was basically Tyson's breaded chicken breast chunks soaked in an orange sauce until they were somewhat soggy. Yhe orange sauce, by the way, was over powering strong with orange flavor! Paid an extra $1 for "fried rice" to go with it... Not sure what that was that they gave me, but I don't think it qualifies as fried rice. Husband and I tried Wens out today and the service and food was great. Food was fresh and flavorful. Chicken Egg rolls were the best I've had in a long time. Chicken, shrimp with green beans was amazing. Shrimp were good quality and clean. Husband got the Pad Thai and he really liked it. He said the beef was tender.
