When I walked in greeted with very friendly servers and waited not too long for food. The food was fantastic.

It has been a while since I have had a restaurant meal to rave about. We went last minute, without reservations. They had a full house, so we had dinner seated at the bar. Great experience. Small, casual, cozy atmosphere. Great service. Well made craft cocktails (amazing dirty martini). All that said, the real winner was the food. Exceptional. I had the roasted duck breast over veggies. Melt in your mouth, cooked perfectly. Incredible flavors. Hubby had the filet mignon, which he loved as well. He said it was also perfectly cooked and a great quality steak. Great food with the correct portion sizes, the drinks are creative I love the vibe and the ambience of this little restaurant. Westchester is definitely a Gem in our area of Chesterfield. On that same note, if you are looking for quiet and romantic this is not the place as It's hard to carry a conversation with the person across from you at a table due to the loud conversations or noise issues. I do not want to have to shout in a conversation, I want to relax. Management is aware of the issue and have heard they are going to expand and work on the acoustics. Jury still out on this new place in the valley, the first time had some pluses and some definite minuses. The fish, halibut and salmon way over cooked need to realize that fish is always better rare or maybe medium rare. Funny the meat was cooked that way even though it was supposed to be medium (meaning no ted). Need to cook the seafood the same way. Service spotty, servers all were very nice but missing forks, missing knives, missing soup, missing salads, oh boy! The salads were excellent, loved the watermelon salad. The wine list, nothing really spectacular, prices on some very high others fair (double retail). Time will tell, my hope is that the servers learn how to wait and the chef learns how to cook fish and meat to order. Got plenty of upside, will see! read more

Just tried this newly opened restaurant and came away with good and not so good impressions. First, the menu was pretty limited but had good choices. We had the crab toast appetizer, onion soup, and tomato soup for starters. All were good quality ingredients, the onion soup was very good, but not the best we've had. The tomato soup was extremely creamy to the point we suggest re-naming it "cream soup with tomato". The crab on the toast was good, but it was 90% toast and 10% crab & I'd prefer if the ratio was reversed. Wine selections were very good especially considering the menu choices. We also tried the halibut which was of excellent quality and pan seared perfectly. The squash puree and rice lacked flavor and it could use more sauce to compliment the slight dryness of the fish that happens when you pan sear. Food overall a B grade in terms of value. Atmosphere was very nice and a solid improvement from the previous establishment in that space as its dressed up considerably, yet felt casual. The big downer for us was the music was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation. The music rotation unfortunately included hip-hop selections that were completely out of place for the upscale atmosphere and the diners at the time. Turn it way down, and play fun, but more adult music apropos to the audience if you're going to price your menu as such. Service was excellent. Bottom line is that we'll be back in hopes of some improvements as we genuinely would like to see an establishment at the level they are trying to achieve thrive in the area. Not enough good restaurants in the valley. Optimistic that it will just get better as they have a good platform to build upon. Please give it a try & support their considerable efforts. First time in, we made a 7pm reservation (party of 4) and arrived @ 6:55. Was told that our table was paying and they needed a few minutes. (no place to stand or sit out of the way). Restaurant has a great decor, including lighting but the tables are closely spaced and when seated we were sat at a table that was set when we arrived. I had to ask people at the bar who were blocking my seat if I could squeeze in The drink menu is good (GREAT Selection and good pour). Food selection/menu is limited and we ordered four separate dishes, Food quality and portion size was good (good value). Restaurant was noisy (had to ask server three times to repeat what the specials were). Plates sat on the table for 20 minutes after we were done....The dinner took 2:35 minutes and we had to ask for our check. The owner stopped by our table to as how things were going but they didn't approve afterwards, instead we heard why things were the way that they were. Best of luck read more

I ate at Westchester on Thursday and Saturday this week. Thursday, I had the CBGB specialty cocktail that was very refreshing, the smash burger and duck fat truffles fries. All were fantastic including the house-made ketchup! On Saturday I tried the lunch special salmon (pictured attached) and it was one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had. It was so moist and the slaw was a perfect compliment. The bread pudding we had for dessert was the perfect compliment our meal with just the right amound of chocolate. We will return! read more

Had a great experience last evening. Butternut squash soup was stupendous as were the salads. 3 of us had the halibut and one had the salmon. Absolutely beautiful presentations and delicious. Lisa, our server, was excellent and attentive. Had fun visiting with Casey who brought the plates to our table. What a great vibe this place has! Great atmosphere and decor inside. Comforting and warm, small and dark for a romantic vibe. Staff was very attentive. Service was excellent and food came out at a nice pace. Smaller menu but choices were well rounded. Fresh foods and interesting combos you don't see everywhere. Owner John was kind and friendly, and came around to check on the diners, as did the chef (and bar manager)? Lots of wines, bourbons, tequilas, beers, and cocktails to choose from (wine by the bottle and glass). Reservations are a good idea (you can do that online), and it can tend to be a little loud since it is a small building. You can sit at a table or at the bar to be served. Overall, really enjoyed our experience. Felt really welcomed. We will definitely go back to try the lunch menu next time! read more

Great upscale menu - I had the daily special bone-in ribeye which was off the bone, served sliced, and served with grilled vegetables and baby potatoes. My wife had the mussels along with duck fat truffle fries off the appetizer menu. All was cooked to perfection. Bryan Herr, former proprietor at Naked Vine, runs the beverages, and presents a wide variety of wine, whiskey and specialty cocktails. All in all, a great dining experience. This is an exciting new restaurant in a Chsterfield Valley strip mall but most definitely doesn't have a strip mall vibe! Inside is small, upscale and stylish with low lighting and a hopping crowd. They offer a long wine list with a wide range of options - both by the glass and bottle, a few specialty cocktails and lots of whiskeys and other spirits to select from. We ordered the crab toast as a small plate. The menu said 3 pieces, but we were pleased that our plate had 4 - since we were a party of 4 for dinner. Loved all the crab. It was creamy and delicious and the bread was perfectly lightly toasted. It was a perfect starter - just enough without filling us up. For dinner I ordered the duck breast entree. Dang, it was outstanding. SO flavorful, just the right amount and a perfectly balanced plate with veggies and duck confit. I tried my husbands sirloin and my friend's mushroom papardalle. Both good, but no duck breast entree. Bottom line: get the duck! You will be elated. And make a reservation! This is a hot spot, and very busy. Great staff and managers, all made sure we were happy. I could rave for hours about this place. My girlfriends and I came last weekend and left with a new favorite spot. The restaurant inside is stunning and very vibey but it was a perfect evening for sitting outside so we opted for the patio. I wish I would have gotten our server's name because she was the best server I think I have ever had. She answered our million questions and gave great recommendations. My girlfriends all got espresso martinis, which they said were the best they have ever had, and I had a mocktail which was delicious. We couldn't decide what to eat so opted for sharing apps. We split the carrots, Brussels sprouts, slider, fries and sashimi. Everything was to die for! The chef came out and made sure everything tasted great and was also extremely friendly. We all have already said we will be back asap to try the rest of the menu. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night or girls night spot! read more

Just made my second trip to the @Westchester - brought an out-of-town guest who is also a "foodie." This time I tried the seafood rigatoni, onion soup and pork belly. The seafood was all cooked properly (NOT OVERCOOKED). Previous seafood pasta dishes have been in a cream sauce, but this was served in the seafood broth. I am from the east coast - so this was a refreshing difference - it was like sitting at the ocean and enjoying fresh steamed seafood with pasta - perfectly seasoned. The french onion soup was delicious - but for me - needed a dash of salt. Ok, now onto the pork belly - this was truly an amazing dish. You start out with a crispy bite of pork belly which then melts in your mouth. This dish is served over a small bed of rice - which is a compliment to the richness of the pork belly itself. This dish will be a regular appetizer for me - and it is plenty for two as an appetizer. My friend chose the soup of the day - very good, but she also added a touch of salt. Ok - I rarely order pork chops in a restaurant. They are frequently dry - or just not cooked to my satisfaction. This pork chop was delicious. It was most, flavorful and served on a bed of collards and sweet potato puree - truly made it a "southern" dish for me. Yes, I had a bite! It was awesome to take time for the perfect bite - a bit of pork, collards and sweet potato! We split a dessert - the chef's suggestion of pumpkin cheesecake with praline topping. This was delicious - perfection to end the meal. I will be inquiring as to whether their desserts are made in-house or not. Our cheesecake looked and tasted delicious. Oh yes - for the gentlemen who stayed whom with the children - I took desserts to the of the pumpkin cheesecake and trip layer chocolate cake. Some good things. Some really bad things. Good things first...best chicken I have ever eaten. Full stop. Lobster was amazing. French Onion soup and sprouts were awesome. Not so good...service was subpar. Took 15 minutes after seating to even be spoken too. 35 minutes total wait for drinks. I don't mind waiting, but just let me know if it's going to be a bit. We didn't get our drinks till after 8pm so it wasn't even like we were in the busy part of the evening. There were tables open so I don't know if they were short staffed in the kitchen as well. Server was pleasant but not attentive. No explanation of menu. Never came back to check in or clear plates. We were there for my daughter's birthday and the server literally said "happy birthday" to my daughter, no lie, like 15 times. It was weird. Maybe talk about the menu. My husband's top piece of fish was cold. He didn't say anything even to me till after we left so I can't comment on what have been done about that. For spending $400 dollars on dinner for 4 people we didn't get our money's worth at all. If you are going to charge that kind of price, I'm cool with that, but better service and hot food is a good start. read more

I came here with my husband to celebrate my birthday. Everything was excellent and I would definitely go back. We each got several cocktails and they were all delicious. We both got the special, a strip steak, and it was cooked perfectly. Service was also great and I was even given a birthday dessert, which I wasn't expecting at such a nice restaurant. In addition to the food and service, the ambiance is great. I like that it is darker and between that and the small size, it feels very intimate.
