I haven't had one in years since I moved out of state, but I grew up on these and to this day, I have not had a better bagel than this!

I love Western Bagel . The bagels are good. They're always fresh. They're delicious. My only issue with Western Bagel is their customer service. I wish it was better from the management to the employees working now. The employees I will try to give the benefit of the doubt they look like college students so I get it to a certain extent but the management I'm like dude what the heck. I feel like I have been missing out for years not having tried the hot turkey bagel sandwich. I finally tried it yesterday and I was quite impressed with the whole creation. The turkey was tender and very tasty and of course the toasted everything cheese bagel made it all that much better. I had it with everything on it except cheese (since the bagel already had cheese on it) I now understand why it sells out before they close. Service was great. She said yes they do and so I have her the rest of my order (4 bagels total). She got the 3 bagels ready but then proceeded to have me wait over 10 minutes for the pizza bagel. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but during that time our other bagels were getting cold. When I tell you this young man understood the assignment when making my turkey sandwich...it was so good. I got a hot turkey sandwich on a cheese bagel with all the fixings, cut in half. It was so pretty when I opened it up, I almost didn't want to eat it. I know in my review of another location Northridge specifically I talked about how gross their bathroom was. My sister picked me up for an afternoon snack. We both love Western bagels, so we thought it would be perfect for the afternoon. We both suspectthey might close early but we thought we take a chance anyway. When we arrived at the hours of operation were 5 AM to 6 PM. We soon discovered that they close at 3 PM. We arrived at 2:45. When we entered there were two staff working Isaiah and Johnny, and even though they were doing their closing up routine, they were still very happy to help us. My sister ordered her egg a la bagel, one of her favorites, and I got my usual boring order of toasted sesame bagel with butter. We also ordered two chocolate chip danishes to go. Shout out to Isaiah and Johnny for their excellent customer service. We were very happy with their bagels and our danishes. I visited the Granada hills location as soon as they opened at 5AM with an urgent situation of needing 900 bagels ASAP for a work event. As soon as I explained what was going on their AM female manager (I feel terrible I cannot remember her name) she was incredibly helpful and so kind. She told me she didn't have all the bagels I needed but called the Van Nuys location and gave them a heads up that I would be coming over to get more from them. She was able to give me around 300 bagels which I dropped off to get our event started then headed over to the Van Nuys location. They had already started preparing the bagels for me. Rosie helped me and she was absolutely wonderful. They did inform me that their location was cash only which was also an issue. They found a workaround for me to pay the Granada Hills location with my card since I couldn't get enough cash on short amount of time and needed the bagels ASAP. it's so nice to see there is still compassion and human kindness in the world and for them to be so understanding and willing to help in my time of crisis. This is truly an incredible team and our event was flawless and no one would have ever known about our bagel crisis thanks to Western Bagel. I will be ordering from you guys for all future events. Haven't been to this location but used to go to the one on Sepulveda years ago when we lived walking distance from it! Finally got the chance to check this location out a few days ago and probably went at a perfect time. I overheard some of the other customers talking about how the line usually wraps around to the end of the room where the restrooms are. Luckily we were second in line when we got there and already knew what we wanted. I noticed their list of coffee brews for the day and asked the young worker about the Hawaiian hazelnut and if it had macadamia in it or what made it "Hawaiian" and he had no clue and had to ask someone in the back. He came out still confused and proceeded to just tell me it had macadamia probably to get me off his case. I ordered it iced anyway just to try it and ordered my Egg-Ala-Bagel in a Jalapeño Cheese Everything Bagel. My bf got a wheat bagel with some kind of berry cream cheese and hash brown and we took our order home to enjoy. Perfectly wrapped in foil to keep it warm, and even sliced in half already! I love that I didn't have to ask because I usually forget to, especially if I'm on the road. Super delicious! I'm terrible with spice but I think the jalapeños give it that nice, extra flavor that's needed. I wish I could give this place 0 stars!!! Came the other day and did a DoorDash Pick up, I was in a rush and was really craving a bagel. I order the "cinnamon crunch bagel, with assorted cookies & one there new coffee's"! When I walked in NO ONE GREETED ME instead the Young children that were working there just kept talking to themselves. I waited a few minutes to see if anyone would say anything but no one did. I grab my order and when I opened my order they didn't even give me the right BAGEL! I understand they run out of bagels I personally work in the restaurant Industry! I would appreciated it if someone would told me they ran out that bagel and got me another one I would have liked! Not a random bagel... I ordered via Yelp Delivery. As far as bagel places go, Western Bagel of Grenada Hills hits the spot! They aren't stingy with the cream cheese, and the coffee is comparable to any other coffee/bagel chain. I ordered my standard bagel order, which is a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese, and an ice coffee with cream. It was exactly what I expected. We came here around 9:45am and it was decently busy. We managed to order fast enough and ordered two plain bagels and 1 egg and 1 salmon. All I can say is I hope it was worth the 20 minute wait while I watched the staff work in slow motion. They were friendly enough so I can't complain about that even though one young girl literally stared at me with btch face on but whatever. Literally to heat up two bagels and chuck on some cream cheese should take MAX two minutes then another 5 max to make the sandwich's, I literally feel like I aged 3 years this morning. Food is great, sadly the service is not at this location. In my recent visit an express line, bagels by dozen or bulk, and a made to order (sandwich line, etc.) . Sounds fine to me... I get on the made to order line and one person in front of me started placing her order as I got on line as I see a man walk out behind her. Express line had perhaps 5 people on line. That express line was cleared and I'm still waiting for service. New customers enter and fill the express line again and someone arrives and starts to help them. I am looking at her wondering when I'm next as now this doesn't seem to make sense... she notices and says you will be helped... Writing again because yet again I have had another issue with the Granada Hills location. I had placed an online order today at 10:27 am that was to be ready at 10:40 am. I arrived at 10:45 am 5 mins after my time assuming my order would be ready. It was a very simple order 2 bagels toasted with cream cheese. When I arrived there were 2 other customers waiting in the order pick up and 1 waiting in the normal line. It took over 5 mins for any of the staff to help any of us. Instead all the staff we very loudly talking and laughing instead of working or assisting customers. Now we are at 10:50 am, I told them my name and they said it would be another 5 mins until my order is ready. It is already 10 mins past my scheduled time and now it'll take 15 mins? Anyways I waited and sure enough nothing was ready by that 5 mins. I flagged down another staff member who said that apparently my order wasn't there. And I thought to myself "how could it not be there if the other lady said 5 mins?" She asked me what my order was and she said she would work on it. Instead she proceeded to work on 2 other DoorDash/Uber eats orders instead of mine. Finally after 25 mins my bagels were ready and I did not get any sort of "sorry for the wait" or "my apologies". I ended up speaking with manager sharing my frustration about this location. She offered a refund and sent me on my way again without any sentiment. I have given this location an abundance of chances and something needs to change. Whether it is a management or ownership change or employees shuffled from other locations. The other two locations in the valley (Mason & Devonshire or the Northridge Mall) have no issues like this and the Granada Hills location could benefit from whoever manages or owns those locations. read more
