Under new management! Excellent customer service. Love their lunch special, super good deal, including soup & egg roll. Private parking lot & street parking.

I've been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant and this place did not disappoint. Every dish pictured are my usual go-to dishes. They were all very flavorful. The salt and pepper pork chops were crispy, just the way I like it! Service was wonderful and attentive. The place was also clean. 10/10 would recommend.

The food is good for the area of Burbank and The Valley for the convenience of Chinese Food that's not "Panda Express" or some "Steam Tray" styled place, not that those are bad per se (and we actually do like Panda Express too!) What I like about restaurants like this and Chinese Food is eating "Family Style" where you can order several dishes and share in diverse items among a group. Usually if you order 1 main dish per adult person in the group (i.e., 4 dishes for 4 people) it's pretty safe and if you like leftovers or have heavy eaters, maybe order a different ratio. We ordered Tofu (Mild no spice special order), Noodles Beef Chow Fun), Noodles (Combo Chow Mein), Chicken, Salt and Pepper Pork, Fish fillet and a Combo Meat Dish for 5 people we ordered 6 dishes and Western Wok gives complimentary (Free, i.e., no charge) steamed white rice too. We had leftovers for 2 adult meals (so in other words, we could have fed 7 people instead of 5, easily with the 6 dishes we ordered) The staff is nice. I actually called and was asking how long it took to prepare the food, as I was coming from a great distance about 1 hr away, and the lady told me NOT to order online as sometimes those orders don't get the same immediate attention as just calling in direct on the phone and speaking to them live, an actual human being. :) - - So, the said it takes 15-20 minutes roughly to prepare an order fresh, cooked to order and hot to go. I waited and timed how to pace an order from phone call to pick up and it worked perfectly. Our meal was $100, so the avg cost per person for lunch was $20 and everyone was satisfied and there were leftovers. The only knock I have on this, and I'm used to authentic Cantonese Chinese Cuisine, is the chow mein noodles done crispy was kinda weak, not fresh egg noodles but had some sort of freeze dried noodle stiffness that wasn't great. It was okay and the sauce and protein (shrimp, chicken and beef) Parking was easy and convenient.

Thai food at its best is vibrant and flavorful, and this was the farthest from that. I'm honestly stunned this place got such good reviews. And the service was awful. The first round of food came and we waited more than 20 minutes for the second round. The third round came out quicker after that, but it still wasn't great. The server didn't stop by and explain why there was such a delay and didn't apologize for such a long wait. When half the table is eating and the other half has to wait around a half hour to eat, it really is a terrible experience. I also had to go up to the counter to request a check and had to go to the counter again to pay, otherwise we might still be waiting for them to figure it out. And charging an 18% "service fee" for a party of six, when you provide such poor service, is incredibly disrespectful. It's no wonder we were ignored, because the server knew she was going to get 18% regardless.

It's a total gem with a cozy ambiance, plenty of street parking, and a 5-7 PM happy hour that is a total steal. The Standouts: * Larb with Chips: Such a cool, crunchy twist on a classic. Finally got a chance to come-in & I'm glad that I did. Although, I have my "go-to whole-in-the-wall Vietnamese" place in the SFV, there's always room for more businesses to support & Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank definitely deserves your patronage. It's a welcome step-up from your typical no-frills Vietnamese place, so the vibe / decor is especially great if you're introducing someone to Vietnamese cuisine for their first time. FOOD **PRO TIP: Go "Family-Style" = split multiple dishes amongst your table so you can have the opportunity to try multiple delishes dishes at once. That's the move. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - 9.2 / 10 **GET THIS DISH!!!!!** I did my "due diligence" before coming here & I 100% knew that I wanted to try this particular dish as soon as I came into the restaurant. In fact, the person whom I came here with wanted this too. (She didn't tell me in-advance). Needless to say, when multiple people have the exact same dish in-mind, you know that this is a good sign. Strips of lean, tender, juicy, quality, tenderloin steak, well-sautéed onions, plenty of garlic, served on top of a bed of al dente noodles. What's not to love? It's like eating a big, bowl, or spaghetti, but without the overpowering tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity fool you. Yeah, I could very, well likely make this dish as home, but sometime it' just nice to leave some things to the pros. You can't go wrong with this dish. It sounds delicious in theory & it delivers on all fronts in reality. Spicy Garlic Chicken Rice - 8.9 / 10 A nice counterpoint to the heavier beef dishes that are offered, the well-seasoned, not-overly dry, but not-too spicy chicken is substantial. Round that off with an adequate portion of perfectly-steamed white rice & some fresh veggies (your standard pickled carrots, daikon radish, & lettuce), & you got yourself a solid chicken dish. Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich - 9.1 / 10 I hadn't had breakfast, so I was definitely craving a bit more to satisfy my hunger. This beef variant of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn-Mi hit the spot. Since I'm used to eating more economical + fattier cuts of beef for my bahn-mi, it's a rather welcome + modern twist to be using more premium cuts of steak (I honestly might steal this move the next time I whip-up a bahn-mi at home). It was hearty & you can definitely tell that the quality is there. I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some fish sauce that was used to marinade the steak. It makes for such a well-rounded, savory flavor. The crisp veggies, & aromatic cilantro round-out all taste sensations on a fresh baguette. In many ways, this is the fancier, upgraded, "Rolls Royce", of a typical whole-in-the wall Vietnamese spot's bahn-mi, & that is sometimes what you want. I would definitely get this again, especially if I was on-the-go. DRINKS Mango Jasmine Iced Tea - 8.9 / 10 Don't sleep on Mama Hong's handcrafted beverages. The mango jasmine iced tea provides everything that I want in a thirst-quenching drink. You get the tropical tones of the mango offset by the herbaceous jasmine of the tea. I really appreciate that it's not overly sweet. I especially dig that their handcrafted beverages come in customized branded plastic packaging with that soda-can lever-opener-style lid. You just don't get that anywhere. The staff is beyond accommodating. Shout-out to Mariska for being such a friendly & warm server. Granted, I came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm-3:30pm), don't be surprised if you have to wait because I can see this place being quite the trendy spot. Granted it's casual, it's still feels a bit nicer/fancier than the more relaxed bars, fast-casual spots in the surrounding area. You can't go wrong with Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank. A solid choice, indeed.
