The place not only called me trying to say they could not find me when they across the street from my place but then complained to me about my location. I live on an university with signs and a gated wall with large markings of the name. Then the food was awful. My dumplings were cold, my cashew chicken gave me very little actual chicken, and the egg drop soup was absolutely awful. I order 23$ of food and get the smallest possible box of rice possible(serves one) when I call to ask for more they say 4$ for another box.. to me that is absolutely ridiculous. If I could give this place a negative star, I would. The food is decent at times however, the oil has been burnt on more than one occasion which is too bad cause that is almost how most of the menu is cooked. It used to be convenient, as I live nearby and would grab it on the way home from work. I tolerated it because of the convenience, but my last visit there was horrible. I was overcharged and had called and was told to come in to show them my receipt. I did and only to have the extremely rude waitress named Mary role her eyes and shrug her shoulders before regretfully issueing a credit. I then asked to speak with the owner, and she would not give me his name. She literally told me to drive back again later that same evening and maybe the owner "might" be there. After ripping me off, being rude on top of it, now you ask me to inconvenience myself one more time and drive back in later? I left my number and no call back.They continuously will write the bill up without itemizing it, and so when I have asked for the breakdown on other occasions I knew if I was being overcharged. Is this even legal? I think there is a governing agency that ensures they can't overcharge. The errors are always in their favor.This happened on 2 other occassion, about 6 months ago and once a long time before that. Each time, we are told to come in, and 6 months ago the waitress apologized for her mistake and we were fine with that. I handled it with grace and assured her I knew what it was like to be busy. The difference was with this last visit, was in the way Mary handled it. Apparently she doesn't seem to think they need the business although things have slowed down considerably due to Covid. Other businesses who have been hurt by this would appreciate the patronage. read more

I've been here so many times over the years and have never been disappointed. My go to is the lunch special with the hot and sour soup, which is definitely the highlight of my meal. The deliciously crispy and warm fried wontons put the cold and hard ones at Panda Express to shame. Service is friendly and fast. Restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and is always clean. I think dining in is the way to go. The to go option definitely fed two $30 with three entrees, but only good for one meal so the portions aren't particularly generous. But it was all right. TASTLESS I have ordered from Western Wok a few times (almost a year ago) and it was great and flavorful. On Friday I ordered the Imperial Delight (steak, shrimp and Chicken) and the Beef with String beans. The veggies in the food still tasted frozen. You can tell the difference in fresh and frozen and they were cold . Now I did order the spicy string beans/ mild but not beyond bland. Both of the meals tasted exactly the same. The only flavor in either was garlic and way to much of it. I tried to add soy sauce at home, but that didn't work. Ended up throwing away the whole meal ($20+ down the drain). I was pretty pleased with Western Wok, and it's in a very handy location! It's more spacious inside than you might at first think, and it's quite clean too. The menu had all your standard Chinese restaurant choices, but their quality is much better than most places I've tried! Meal so mediocre I thought I would write. I've had worse tasting meals. This meal was totally bland. No flavor at all. The won ton soup was cleAr. I requested hot mustard for the soup but none was included in my delivery. I added 2 packets of soy for color & flavor. The vegetables were fresh & par cooked. But again without flavor. The spicy eggplant was laden with additional veggies & a sweetish sauce. I did find some spiciness on the bottom of the dish. The pad Thai looked old. Shrimp didn't appear fresh. Didn't even try. This place is ridiculous. I ordered noodles with chicken only and they added shrimp (2 separate entrees of noodles) and normally I wouldn't make it a fuss but my boyfriend is allergic to shrimp! I called back and they said they'd deliver another order which is fine. When they came back to deliver the new order they demanded the other order!!!! Of course I gave it back but can someone please tell me what they're going to do with that?!?! I hope they don't give it to someone else because that's disgusting, makes me think maybe my food is someone else's messed up order. DISGUSTING! read more
