Right on Route A1A and across the road from the beach on the Atlantic coast, Whaam Burger is a great joint for a quick bite, a stay-in eat, or take out on the beach. The joint has a great feel. It has cartoon comic art all over the walls. Bright murals adorn the facade. There is one room. Order at the counter. A Pac Man/Galaga arcade game is in the corner. The space is bright and airy. The food is good. Burgers are tasty and juicy, and the Whaam sauce is delicious; not your standard ripoff of big mac sauce. The tots are cooked to perfection, crispy and browned. The fries are golden, crisp, yet soft in the middle. There wasn't a single thing we didn't enjoy. Disappointed shakes are just pre-made shakes that you can get at a gas station. Didn't think spending the extra money for that was worth it. There is counter service. Food will be brought to the table. Menu is slightly confusing when you get past the burgers. I was not the only one confused. When you get to Whaam Fries and Tachos, the describe it as a burger. Better clarification on these. My family member who ordered them did not expect what he received. Another "gem" in the land of culinary mediocrity. Overpriced burger - about the diameter of a plain McDonald's single - was cooked okay. No actual flavor profile... boring actually. Meh. I was totally impressed that clerk in front was wearing a mask. I can see Into the kitchen and cooking staff was indeed all masked up. So woman in front 'Eliya' and woman in back wearing masks. I honestly would of walked out if not, as I do almost daily. Eliya was so nice and gave me excellent suggestions. She is great at her job. Very welcoming and good at her job. 'Polite' goes a long way when ordering food during this f n plague - At least with me. She also made awesome suggestions, since I was never there. Ok - THE FOOD. I was hungry from driving all day w no breakfast. My hamburger was delicious!! Love that burger. My chicken sandwich and onion rings was EXCELLENT. Usually I'm more healthy but I needed comfort food after hellish few wks. Next time will get one or 2 grilled chicken sands w everything and no bad sauces. Loved food and service was great. The chef/cook in back did everything PERFECTLY. FOR REAL. I am a chef and worked dining rooms too. I feel like this place pays attention to detail. When places don't, I may not come back. My husband and I have driven through Flagler Beach at least once a month for three years and every time we pass Whaam Burger we say, "We need to check them out." For me, the draw is the Bob's Big Boy icons from my childhood standing front and center. For my husband, it's the call of a great burger. Sunday, we finally had a chance to eat here and I'm sorry that it took is so long to do so. The staff at the counter was great. The young lady that helped us was very personable and even brought our food out to us. She was even patient when her register was having problems taking my husband's card. And the food? Yum. I had a double bacon burger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms and a side of shoestring fries. My husband had a double bacon cheeseburger and tots. When I say that my burger was awesome, i am by no means exaggerating. It was juicy and drippy and OMG I was in absolute heaven with my burger! The fries were your standard run of the mill shoestring fries but they were hot and crispy and tasted good. My husband enjoyed his burger and tots as well. The decor was comic book like for me and the music was good as well. Overall this was a great little beach side burger place that I would love to get back to. By the way, that the instance I mentioned earlier with regard to our card? Well, we wound up with three charges for one meal on our card. The manager was awesome though and worked with my husband right away today when we noticed the pending charges had gone through. I know there was a big party inside the restaurant so the wait was not a big deal. When I got my burger it was average and I got French fries instead of tater tots. First of all I want to say that I have heard nothing but good things about this place since I moved to the area. My burger was very tasty and the fries were actually rather crispy (maybe a little too salty). The thing that really bugged me is that Not one single employee was wearing any kind of mask or covering! As I write this we are still in the the worst health crisis of our lives and the basic people expect is when you walk into a restaurant the staff are taking certain precautions when it comes to their safety and the customers! The location is literally perfect for grabbing a bite on the beach but the wait times are crazy bad. Forty five minutes for 5 hot dogs, with only two other customers in front. Very concerned to see them taking no Covid precautions whatsoever. Employees not in masks, not wearing gloves, drink machine still open for whoever to put their used cups all over it....etc. And it's a small building, so an average crowd creates a social-distancing problem. The burger patties are from the same supplier as McDonalds. The famous "whaamburger" is a Big Mac. I am unable to eat McDonalds because it makes me sick. Needless to say, I was violently sick all day after eating here. You can try it if you're curious, but trust me, it's 100% the same exact meat from the same factory as McDonalds patties or it tastes exactly like that. Also, their fountain drink machine must have been dirty when I went because my "Pepsi" like unfiltered tap water. This was super good. The philly actually was really good so much I almost bought a second one. Came here with pretty low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the food. The Whaam Burger came with grilled onions and typical toppings like lettuce and pickles and was quite juicy and tasty. We also got the tater tots which were really good and very crispy just how I like them. The downside was that this is extremely overpriced - the burger patty was pretty small for what they're charging. Secondly, I asked for a burger (no cheese) and they messed that up so they had to make a new one- luckily that didn't take too long. There are a few bottles of ketchup and mustard along the back wall which were half empty and you felt obligated to bring them back right away because there aren't nearly enough of gel for everyone in the restaurant. They provide those paper cups to full with ketchup but it's super inconvenient to full up like 5 of them, when instead they could just provide double the amount of condiment bottles. The decor was ok - they had a cool pop art/comic thing going on on one side of the building but that didn't cary over so well to the rest of the place. read more

First time here and this place is fantastic! My husband and I both got the Whaam burgers! Burger was seasoned great, was juicy and tasted fantastic. It's right across from the ocean so the location couldn't be more perfect. Food is priced good. There is an arcade game inside and some outdoor seating. They have a salad bar.
