In from out of town, visiting my son and he says we got to go to Whataburger. I fired him as my son, first of all took almost 30 minutes to get through the line tonight and secondly we got home. The malts tasted nothing like they're supposed to. They all tasted like vanilla, and I had a double Whataburger with cheese and I could not eat it. It was so dry. I went to whataburger tonight, ordered a burger with NO ONIONS. Get my order, drive home, and what do you know, THERE'S ONIONS ON MY BURGER! THESE People want 15 dollars an hour, and they can't even read a simple ticket! Not to mention the premium prices they are charging for said burger. I went to Whataburger last night, September 17th around 9pm I was hearing an employee cussing screaming the f word then a few moments later he starts getting into it with another employee trying to gang up on him acting a fool while there are people in the lobby and all the other employees were just laughing thinking it was funny when absolutely nothing was funny it was horrible and made me feel very unsafe, very disappointed in the experience I ended up leaving. A couple of burgers for a late lunch after errands. My wife enjoyed her Whataburger single. I found my Hatch Green Chili double dry. The layers were stuck together with the melted cheese but the chilis didn't come through the way you expect compaired to the cheaper Scotish Arches version. You know I really hate to leave a bad review but after last nights experience in the drive thru I just had to share my feedback. I've been a loyal customer at this location for quite some time now. I appreciate that they keep the place open past midnight because often that's when I'm hungry and looking for food. It's nice to have that as an option that's not too far from home and on my way home from work. That being said I've noticed the last three times I've visited this location the customer service has really gone down hill. The prices have also gotten a little out of hand as well. I understand that's not their fault necessarily due to inflation but for what they expect you to pay I expect much better quality food, and service. The last two visits I've gotten stale fries which have disappointed me on top of the poor customer service. My last three visits in a row over the last month and a half I've noticed their card reader to take your card has been faulty. My card even though it has the tap to pay doesn't ever work and always tells them declined. So I have to tell them to use the chip. We'll going forward their reader has been not reading my cards chip nor the magnetic strip. The previous employees the last two visits have been able to get to work after a few tries gently inserting the chip in the reader. This last one for one completely disregarded my advice about the tap to pay and kept getting the declined message because again that feature doesn't work on my card. They tried the chip and strip once then told me it was declined so again I relayed the information to use the chip, the female employee sighed and then aggressively attempted tapping the card again multiple times before attempting the chip. After a min she told me the same thing so I told her to try it again slowly with the chip and she just disregarded it and went to swiping tapping and aggressively inserting the chip so when she came back to tell me it wouldn't read. I replied we'll never mind then took my card and went to McDonald's across the street and they had no issue at all with the same card and I got my McDonald's food and drove off. They need to either replace that card reader or get it repaired because no one else seems to have an issue with my card except them. I wouldn't have been so upset had I not been waiting in the drive thru line for ever 20 minutes for nothing basically. This was is the last straw and I probably won't be returning after this experience. read more

Whataletdown.. At least when compared to In-N-Out. I grew tired of people from Texas saying Whataburger was better than In-N-Out burger. So while in New Mexico I tried it out for the first time. Whataburger serves up pretty good fast food in the same vein as Burger King and Jack in the Box. The burgers were your typical discs ( they claim fresh not frozen), nicely seasoned, and the fries were also crisp and salty. However, the decor and menu layout wasn't as nice as In-N-Out. Burgers were also not as good. I wont deny that Whataburger is popular and always crowded, but that's about the only thing that's similar to In-N-Out burger. But comparisons aside, the burgers and fries were a-ok. Just don't let someone from Texas tell you that this place is better than In-N-Out. Notes - After watching Live PD on Nov 24th I will never trust an employee of Whataburger again! Watch youtube and judge for yourself. - My Green Chile burger was very light on the green chiles. - Styrofoam cups?!? What does that anymore? - At least they sell Coke drinks here. I stopped by Whataburger for a fast lunch and was really impressed with how well they handled the lunch rush! They had one main line for drive through but then sorted the cars into two lines (A and B) depending on order size and would send out a cashier to take your payment if you were in line B. The method was extremely effective and my order was 100% correct. I had the chicken strips meal with an extra strip. It was hot and delicious and exactly what I expected when I got home to eat it! The girl who took my order was very professional and kind and so was the different girl who came out to take my payment and my order. I had stopped going to this Whataburger a few months back because my order was wrong but it looks like they have more than fixed whatever was going on! Being from California, almost everyone knows about In-N-Out. Almost as many know about the rivalry between In-N-Out fans and Steak and Shake fans. However, there is a growing and vocal minority that claim that Whataburger is actually, and in fact, the superior hamburger chain. So while I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and knowing that Whataburger is a Texas-based chain, I figured this might be my chance to settle this dispute once and for all and bring peace to the hamburger world and end the conflict. Unfortunately, I think this visit was far inferior to what Whataburger can be. When I stopped in briefly, I saw that there were an incredibly large number of people waiting for orders. I placed an order, and the first thing the cashier told me was that their soda machine wasn't working, and so the only options for drinks were iced tea and lemonade. That was okay by me, since I was just there to try a burger. And so I ordered a regular Whataburger. Which I waited just over 30 minutes for. When I ate it, I noticed the large size of the burger. The flavor is okay, and the mustardy/vinegar flavor of the burger makes it unique. But it doesn't have the freshness, or the great pricing, of In-N-Out. I didn't try the fries, but I'm willing to bet that the fries at Whataburger are much better than the horrible limp spongy fries at In-N-Out. But overall, In-N-Out has a much better product. read more

BY FAR THE WORST LOCATION EVER.. do not go here if you want the ENTIRETY of your food order. A couple of friends & I stopped by here for a quick late night food run since it's pretty much the only thing open this late on a weekday especially in ABQ. We approached the drive thru & was greeted by a worker over the speaker... we told them we needed a minute & she told us to order when we were ready. 30secs after that, another worker greeted us over the speaker & so we ordered. While we were placing our order, the worker just took down our order w/o asking any other supplement info that came w/ our food. We ordered two (2) patty melts, six (6) chicken bites, & a kids meal. Upon paying for our order, the worker repeated our order to us to make sure that they got everything. We paid for it & sat there at the drive thru window waiting for our food. As we were waiting, I noticed that there were 4-5 workers who all gathered around the register by the window & were chatting & drinking water. The least they could do was be a little more proactive in getting our order out to us since there was also someone else behind us. When we got our order, I checked to see if we had everything we ordered... turns out, we got everything except the kid's meal. The only thing we got from that kid's meal was a lemonade. We were going to turn back & tell them about it but I was way too frustrated & "hangry" to deal w/ them. The worst part is that they rang us up for the kid's meal & WE DIDN'T EVEN GET IT. If you're getting paid to do your job, at least do it correctly & make sure customers get EVERYTHING in their order. W/ that being said, I will not be returning to this location ever again. read more

We always love Whataburger. Consistently good. Burgers and fries are always well made.

You can never go wrong with Whataburger, especially the patty melt. The lines are always long & sometimes you wait a lot longer than expected but once you get your food, you realize it was well worth it. The grilled cheese with green chile is a great snack option if you're not feeling too hungry. The presentation of the food was very sloppy at this location which was a little disappointing. It's always nice to see fast food chains take pride in their food but this one failed to do so. read more

Whataburger? More like WhataJOKE. My experience at this location is one of the worst I've ever had at a Whataburger. Went through the drive-thru for a quick bite and it was anything but quick. Once we placed our order it took a while for us to pay and even longer to receive the food. When we did get our food, I opened the wrapper to find a sloppy filthy mess of a sandwich. Ranch everywhere so it was impossible not to get your hands covered in sauce. The only thing that saved this from being a 0 star is that it's not even an option.
