However, people still ruin the meat and pay no attention to what they do. So, in NM Whataburger is no better than any other fast foot place. Finally I got to try this place! I just happen to chance by Buzzfeed's Youtube video on Whataburger (a must watch!)and Yelped it. It turns out we have several locations here in Albuquerque! So I drove in after work and ordered the following: GREN CHILE DOUBLE PATTY BURGER: It was so good. The burger is flat and wide which was weird to me. It looks home cooked. And taking my first bite, it tasted homemade deliciousness! It was flavorful. Definitely not premade. It made me happy. In fact, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but sometimes I surprise myself. :) My only wish is that they have it protein style. In-n-out fan here ;) FRENCH FRIES: Was lukewarm. I can tell it could have been really good if it was hot. I still like Mickey D's better (when done right). ONION RINGS: THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST ONION RINGS I'VE EVER HAD IN A FAST FOOD PLACE. The batter was thin, seasoned just right, crispy, coating the hot, sweet, oily onion ring. It was freshly cooked. I could finish the whole large portion but I wanted to be good so I shared it.:) SERVICE (DRIVE THRU): There was a little bit of a wait in the drive thru. They make it when you order it, no pre-made, reheated stuff. It was okay. RATING 4 STARS DOWN TO 3 because I really wanted to try their SPICY KETCHUP. I even asked twice! One when I first ordered, then again while she was handing me my take out bag. I saw her put ketchup packets which I thought were spicy ketchup but they weren't! They were just regular ketchup! And I also wanted to try their BUTTERMILK CHICKEN IN BISCUIT (looked sooo good in the video) but its only a breakfast item. When I say this restaurant is "hit or miss", it's mostly a miss. I usually order the What-a-Chicken Bites" and usually one, or a combination of the following will happen: forget the gravy, give you less chicken than you order, give you the tiny mostly battered bits, or they give you a gravy 1/3 of the way full. Big borger at decent prices. I got a normal #2 with a milkshake for like 8 or 9 bucks. Servers are nice and they bring out ketchup for you - the spicy ketchup isn't really spicy but it's a great flavor that I wish more people had than Whataburger. Definitely better than most burger places at decent prices. You might be confused at the $2 value burgers and $5 normal ones (with $7 something meals) but after you get a view of the massive fast food burgers you won't regret it. This morning I used the drive thru to order breakfast. When I pulled up to the window to pay, the cashier stated I owed $6.99. I stated the price listed on their drive up menu listed $5.79, why the difference. She stated the price has gone up. I told her she can't charge a different price than what is listed, thats wrong. She looked at the menu board inside the restaurant and said the price is correct inside. Once again, I state I am outside ordering from the drive thru menu board which clearly states a different price. We always eat at this location whenever we are in town. We ate a late dinner, around 9pm. When we got there, parking up close to the door was filled, even though I saw only a couple customers inside. Turns out the employees took all the choice spots, leaving the customer to walk aways to the door. Turns out the employees had taken those spots because, according to one employee I overheard, she wants to see her car while working. Really. Food is great. Service is great. To bad inconsiderate employees make it inconvenient for the customer wanting to eat inside. read more

Horrible customer service. Never ever order from this location using Uber eats or another delivery service. I've now tried 3 times, and today is the last time I will ever order from here. Two of the three times I never got my food. Not only do they claim not to receive the order (the app only says the store has accepted order and is working on it once the restaurant physically confirms it), but each time they made the poor delivery driver wait and were rude... only to never make the order and eventually cancel. They waste the drivers time that they could be making money, and when I called to speak to them about it the manager just lied continuously to me... I assume they didn't know the driver had been in contact with me via the app each time. Finally, today, I got my order. Of course when the driver arrived the restaurant told them they didn't have an order but then eventually "found it." The driver came straight to my home with the food. The food was cold, as if it had been sitting out for hours. Not remotely warm. I added bacon to a sandwich - the bacon was laying next to the sandwich in the wrapper, along with all of the other condiments smashed all over the inside and outside of wrapper. The food was inedible, stale, destroyed and also (the smallest problem) still had tomato and onion despite having a receipt taped to bag that clearly shows it was ordered requesting not to have them. The staff is extremely rude not only to the drivers, but to me when I called. Living in Austin for 8 years, I was thrilled to see that What-a-burger was offered in ABQ!!! This location is close to my work, so it is a great place to go for a quick lunch. The staff at this location is probably the best in ABQ under the Fast Food category. The ladies who work in drive-thru are super friendly and efficient. I have gone here a lot and my experience is always delightful. They have never messed up my order, my yummy fries are always hot and they stock me up with their delicious whataketchup. :) I'm not big on the "chain store" scene, but this place is a keeper!!! read more

I used to like Whataburger, but this location has slowly ruined it for me over the last two years. The service here is always slow - and I mean slow even by Whataburger standards (which is already terrible). This location also regularly brings your food out to you in waves. You might get your burger first, then 10 minutes later (or more - no exaggeration) you get your fries. They even ask "Do you still want your ____?" when they bring it out, because you have clearly finished eating everything else. To make things worse, they also blare Christian music so loudly over cheap restaurant speakers that you can't have a conversation. Sorry, I'm here for a burger with my co-worker, not for a song about blood dripping off a cross (literally, overheard today at lunch). It's a free country. They can be slow, blare Christian music, and do whatever they want. But I'm going to find a better place to get burger and fries. The Whataburger on Carlisle morning staff is Great! But in the afternoon, I would suggest eating somewhere else. They don't do what they're supposed to. I ate my first Whataburger yesterday. My. First. Whataburger. Please, if you need a minute to hate me for committing such an act against fast food I can wait. I read a ton of blogs about fastfood, I'm not entirely sure if it's because franchising is completely insane sounding to me, because I love the technology that goes into such simple meals, or because it's ridiculously delicious. I found out, only recently, that Whataburger is basically like In-N-Out to the rest of the country. How could I let something so special, so original, so unique slip past my giant hands for so freaking long? Well, I finally went. I finally found out what I have been missing. Hot, beautiful, crisp fries(think of McDonalds in their prime), shoved into cute little boxes, cheese burgers with lettuce, mustard, pickles, and cheese, so delicious, so greasy, but made with what looks like real meat and no hockey puck patties, and behold, spicy ketchup. Whataburger basically reminds me of sonic, blakes, mcdonalds, and wendy's all scrunched into one store. It's excellent tasting, has cute little ketchup packets, you can get green chile and your burger, and the fries are ridiculously good. Like, my new favorite fast food fry good. I was definitely surprised by Whataburger. When we walked in, my first thought was how old-fashioned it looked. It seemed small although there turned out to be plenty of seating. Also, you cannot see the kitchen from the counter - which is kind of odd these days. At any rate, aesthetics aside, the food is quite good. The husband had a triple cheeseburger (he actually wanted a double but there was some confusion during the ordering process). Although he claimed it was too big to finish, he finished it. According to him the meat was very tender. I had a breaded chicken sandwich which comes on a wheat bun with the normal veggies and condiments. I requested cheese and was pleasantly surprised to see that they only charge $.49 per slice - lower than many other fast food chains. The fries were very good as well. They had a nice crisp to them and there were a lot in the medium size. The only downside is the same that I have seen everywhere lately - the prices. I am not sure if I am simply more aware of the cost now or if prices have increased. I think it is silly to spend the same amount at any establishment with a drive-thru window that you would spend at, say, Frontier. But maybe that is just my personal issue. Overall, Whataburger was a nice place for a quick lunch. If I happen to be in the area again, I will not hesitate to stop in. read more

Whataburger has been a staple my entire life here in Albuquerque. I love the fact that they're open 24 hours. They offer several types of hamburgers, chicken meals and shakes along with sodas and french fries of course. It's a hard building to miss very familiar to the golden arches are its orange and white stripes. I've always gotten great customer service, the only complaint I would have is that the drive thru tends to take a little bit long but it's worth the wait for fresh food. Prices are fair. They have awesome ketchup not sure what they do to it but it's delicious nonetheless. Whataburger is great for breakfast for lunch for dinner and for after hours. I enjoy how they change their menu up yet still always carry the old classics. I foresee many visits in my future. read more
