Let me begin by stating that I really like Whataburger. They make a solid product, sell at a reasonable price, and they're open late. All plusses. Compared to other outlets, this one is pretty darned good! I've been by twice and a) the service has been reasonably fast, and b) the bathroom was clean. Thanks for making those patty melts guys! This is the worst whataburger ever - they should remove the logo from the restaurant. I have a food allergy - my meal was delivered with the item that I had specifically asked not to be on the burger. Shame on me for not inspecting it before I took a bite ..... now I get to have an evening feeling like I have the flu .... no apology - just a veiled threat from the manager. This location deserves 5 stars and let me tell you why. I was on a short business trip and passed through the area to visit family whom live in the area. We were greeted with friendly faces and there was no rush as we sorted through the menu for the 4 of us. There was an older woman who delivered our food to the table and she really made my evening. She was so kind and we laughed as we talked about the local sports teams that come through that get the place super busy. She was the kind of person that you want to invite over for a cup of coffee. I was running on fumes as I had a long drive to the area that day but her personality shined and woke me up to enjoy the fresh hot meal. Whataburger is my favorite fast food place, but at this particular whataburger that's just not the case. The man taking our order was very nice and the service overall was good. The food however was not, I got the sweet and spicy bacon burgers and the bacon was chewy and undercooked. My brother ordered the chicken tenders with a side of gravy which had the consistency of water. The cheese was also not melted on my burger which is always disappointing. Absolutely the worst Whataburger! RIDICULOUSLY slow ticket times (even when there are no other guests) and then getting the order wrong. This happens every single time at this location, over five years time. I've about had it with this location. They have the slowest drive thru line and have terrible service. They also have been getting my order wrong the past few times and it's always when I go in the evening and order a Honey BBQ chicken sandwhich. This location used to be decent, but now it's awful. This location has significantly decreased in quality over the past few years. I recently stopped by for a cheeseburger and instantaneously regretted it upon unwrapping my burger. I'm fairly certain I received a burger that had been cooked and placed aside the night prior to my visit. The burger was cooler than room temperature and the bun was as tough as beef jerky. The cheese had started to solidify to the point where it physically cut my mouth upon ingestion. I no longer reside in Texas so I am always excited to have Whataburger at least once whenever I return to the lone star state. I don't think that will be the case in the future. Whataburger=Whata...¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I am visiting Dripping Springs this weekend for the first time ever. We were pressed for time and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. We walked in and no one was at the register. We waited about 2-3 minutes before anyone came to the counter. Sure, it gave me enough time to review the menu but it's definitely not the traditional Whataburger customer service that I've been conditioned to. I ordered the bacon and cheese Whataburger meal, nothing fancy. The woman that took my order was kind, definitely seemed more experienced than her fellow co-workers. The manager was interviewing potential new hires, as this particular location seems fairly new and the staff seems very inexperienced. My meal was delivered exactly how I ordered it and the guy that brings out condiments came out as soon as our meal was delivered. I'm not sure if the quality of the food from Whataburger has been lost or if its just been that long since I've eaten fast food. I can't recall the last time I actually had a meal at Whataburger and therfore forgot what condiments I normally order with my meal. I remembered I usually order the Buffalo sauce as a side to dip my fries into. My man walked back up to the counter to order the buffalo sauce and the young man mentioned that they don't serve buffalo chicken sandwich anymore. No big deal, he ended up ordering the jalapeño ranch sauce. I have never had this sauce and it was pretty close to tasting like a spicy gravy. I'm not a fan of gravy, so it wasn't a perfect match for me. The manager wrapped up his interview and then came back to greet all the dine-in customers. It was a nice touch and he was a great role model for the newcomers on his team. If you're in Dripping Springs and you need something quick to eat, sure....eat Whataburger. Don't have high expectations when it comes to your food. The food is cooked well enough to eat and be satisfactorily until your next meal but it's not a delicious meal. Do more more research and eat at a local restaurant, if you're wanting a "good meal", between the two options, just eat a sandwich from H-E-B deli. Keep it moving if you expect quality Whataburger from this location. This particular location has potential for better customer service and definitely delivering better Whataburger meals. As far as the food, this Whataburger is about average when compared to other fast food joints. Service is a little slow and the drive-thru line can get insanely long! So why am I giving it 4 stars? This location is why I don't eat their burgers anymore. I used to think whataburger was a great burger (for a fasty) but the burgers here taste sad. I only get biscuits and gravy here now. I get a lot of diet cokes here too but I never ask for it. I'll blame the poor drive thru system for that. Just like McDonald's across the street they have a way with forgetting ingredients too. Don't ever leave the drive-thru driveway until you counted every item in your bag. This location is notorious for leaving items out that you've ordered and paid for. Also check your drinks because they have a problem getting the correct drink in the cups. You order Diet Dr. Pepper you get Diet Coke or regular Dr Pepper or something else. I stopped by this Whataburger location on a Friday afternoon heading home to grab some lunch. As usual the parking lot was pretty full. The lady working at the counter was friendly as always. Ordered some Chicken Strip BBQ Sandwich on Texas Toast. Absolutely fantastic sandwich. I've found my new favorite. Very clean restaurant with good good and good service.
