Looking at the Whataburger store from the stores adjacent to it on its north side

Whataburger in warm places - 2 of 2 I have seen this Whataburger in the past, have eaten here once, and filed it away as the only Whataburger in the JAX metro area that I don't have to look up. It's conveniently located on Phillips Highway, just south of the JTB. So, why am I giving this location 4 stars? At some other fast food places or donut shops in this metro area, you may get borderline surly service. That is not how it is here at this Whataburger. The folks at the front counter and in the back cooking are polite to you, either in the way they patiently take your order or just by nodding to greet you from the back while they're at work. The menu, the pricing, and the cleanliness are all good. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich combination and ate it inside the restaurant. It was very tasty. This area is a nice clean and vegetated cluster of offices, lodging, newer housing stock, and varied food establishments. They have a generously sized parking lot. I don't know if this is America's easternmost Whataburger, but it is the easternmost metro area in which Whataburger is present. They are not located in more southerly points in Florida. I looked at a map of the Whataburger footprint, which is very Texas-centric, and found that their westernmost tentacles extend to the big cities in Arizona, hence about 350 miles from L.A. as the crow flies. Like they say, you learn something new every day.

Decent food for a fast food chain, it's more of a tradition to stop by than a choice of a great restaurant. Place is decently clean and service is fast. Overall decent place. They did give me a look when i asked for a spicy sandwich and triple check if that is what i wanted, not sure how to take that. We will probably stop by again but mostly because it is a tradition of my husbands family. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

On a roadtrip to NC and decided to try it on my way as there isnt one in Orlando. I went at like 2 am so everything was truly fresh. Employees were nice and chill. Fries wasnt to salty and cooked perfect. The burger was pretty good, juicy patty. Nothing too special to me

Whatahole on Phillips hwy in Jax AVOID if you value your health! They pick food up off the floor and serve it

I tagged my last review in the photo but didn't mention in the body of the review they picked food up off the floor and then served it! It's one thing to be rude or slow or not care but it's a new ball game when it's a health issue. This seems to be common practices at this nasty place. No thanks

Greasy food that I used to wipe my ass. The stains are piss not grease.

Eureka (I have found it)! Hollywood in Florida!!!!…read more JUST like Dr. Indiana Jones combing through the jungles seeking his ancient museum artifacts, I was navigating the curvy wilds of the Jacksonville Southpoint area, located near I-95 and JTB. The best things in life require some effort to build your appetite, and whereas I did not collect a golden idol like Dr. Jones, I was rewarded instead with a cheerful new friend and one of the absolute FRESHEST sandwiches in JAX! Nestled between the sparse woods and surrounding offices you will find happy, loyal diners who fill Hollywood Heroes and Subs each lunchtime to the point where the line stretches out the door. I had just seen the last of the lunch crowd smiling and saying goodbye for the day to our energetic and upbeat host, Founder, sandwich artist and Jacksonville native Kevin Porter, an actor turned restaurateur -- known for roles including "Lazer" in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, plus appearances in Daredevil and General Hospital. Something that cannot be "acted" around was his genuine welcome and desire to roll out the red Hollywood carpet for all who make the journey (yes, it's a REAL red carpet)!! This sweet shop is the perfect size, and has a significant amount of Hollywood memorabilia all around to keep you engaged while chatting with Kevin as he works his magic. And what he produced was a treasure of cheese and meats that made me forget about whatever might have been chasing me through those woods to get there! J/K In between wonderful conversation with Kevin, each bite of my MASSIVE "The Towering Inferno" hot hero (pepperoni, Genoa salami, cappy and melted provolone) on fresh baked Village Bread made me realize just how huge and delicious this thing was. Kevin promised that the one pictured is exactly what every customer will get...he prides himself on highly generous portions at fair prices...and man, did he deliver!! I would have been completely satisfied with HALF, but NO!!!! There sat its twin, begging for sacrifice to the stomach Gods. I was only too happy to oblige! The owner Kevin = engaging, friendly, talented with his craft, makes you feel like you drove through the woods to come home to your happy place. The ambiance = bright, colorful, great memorabilia, puts you as the star of the show. The sandwiches = creative in name and product with fresh being the operative word, this sandwich hit above its price point and I can't wait to try to the rest of the menu! So no, I didn't get chased by a boulder, or leave with Dr. Jones' golden idol, but I did get a Golden Belly from my experience, and the knowledge of why hundreds of hungry lunch- goers seek this "Temple of Delish" every day!! Crack the whip and corral your family into the car for this absolute treat in the core of "ancient Jacksonville!!"

There was a decent amount of parking which I was surprised about given the location. The line was to the door when we arrived. The line went pretty quickly, about 5 minutes to get our order taken. I opted for the Hurricane burger, my son opted for a basic cheeseburger with only pickle. We also ordered fries and onion rings for the table. Our food took about 15 minutes, during this time, we saw a tray of fries sitting in the window. We were hoping it was not our order as they would be cold by the time our burgers were completed, however they called us and sure enough it was ours. We touched the fries and they were very cold. We told the employee, who knew the issue and they remade the fries. I'm glad they didn't make an issue about it, but also disappointing because the employees thought it was okay to even serve cold fries. The burgers were fantastic. The hurricane had so much flavor, I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. The onion rings were good and the fries were decent. My son loved his burger and the rest of the family enjoyed their meal. It was a nice lunch and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

The restaurant itself is always clean, including the dining area and restrooms, which says a lot about how they operate. My first choice was the new cheddar and cheese soup but I would have had to wait. The manager came over and asked how we liked everything. Customer service was at its finest. We were treated to the cheddar broccoli soup since we did not like the lobster bisque. Free refills with the decorative cups to take home as a plus!
