I've lived here in Scottsdale for the last 20 years. That being said ive come to this location hundreds of times over those 20 years and had nothing but mostly positive memories and always considered it a hidden gem for locals here. That all went out the window today. They shut down the 101 this morning so i was driving by at 5am and thought I'd love a shake as i go for my Sunday drive. When i placed my order at the drive through, the woman kept tacking on all these things I didn't order (a large number 6, a large soda, etc). In response i politely raised my voice and clearly stated a large chocolate shake and nothing else please. Her response was YELLING at the top of her lungs to "pull up to the F**King window"... Im not gonna tolerate verbal abuse and I don't want someone who's going to abuse their customers preparing my food or drinks. Especially after covid I don't want someone spitting in my drink or doing something else disgusting. As a result I will NOT be returning, and i will be calling the manager and potentially the regional manager as well later at a more decent hour as its still 5am as im writing this. We have been eating here since they opened. The new operating partner Darrie Osuna is not doing a good job. We went in the other night to pick some burgers up and the food was terrible. My wife's jr Bun was hard as a rock. She threw the bun in the garbage and eat the meat. . My whataburger tasted like mush, We were both sick that night and the next day. Since she took over this has been the norm. She keeps the place as cold as a meat locker. We have walked in and turned around and left. With food going up we are not going to waste money on this type of product. I think they are using warmers. They toast buns and put cold cheese on which make the burger cold. We have stopped going there. Maybe the owner will fix the the problem she will not. The place is pretty clean. read more

I live right next to this location and I was craving a quick grilled cheese burger. There were 3 cars ahead of me and I decided To give into my craving and have a fast food burger. I ordered my food grilled cheese with veggies and ketchup. Well I'm sitting in line for 30 minutes before I get to the window. contemplated leaving a couple times but figured this will be worth it (even though at this point I could have ordered to go from a nice sit down burger restaurant and received my food). I get my order and it's completely wrong (I am vegetarian btw). At this point my choices were to spend another 30 minutes in a short line they can't handle or throw it away. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I was in tonight, don't visit much and never will again. I watched the man working the fry station use his gloved hands to pick up garbage off the floor everyone walks on upon leaving the bathroom. He then returned to his station wearing the same gloves to handle all of the fries with liberal gusto. I am lucky I was watching, there was no keeping my apatite after so I got a refund, let everyone else know and left. The only 2 good things about this place is the size of their burgers they are big (5inches) but that's about it and also their fries are pretty yummy and crispy. the burgers here are pretty good. The only thing I do not like about some of the burgers that they have is I feel like the beef patty is a little bit too small. But outside of that everything about this location is awesome. The french fries are even better than McDonald's in my opinion. And the burgers are absolutely delicious. I love the sauce that they put on there as well they have a very friendly staff and they do a really good job making sure that you feel welcomed when you walk inside the location. The store on McDowell in Midtown Phoenix is equally good, but the 90th Street location is a lot closer to home. A former coworker who hales from New Mexico, got me into their burgers with green chillies, mustard and pickle. Try it, it's great. The true mark of excellence in a burger joint is their onion rings (ORs). If those are awesome, the rest of the food follows. Whattaburger serves quality ORs. First time trying Whataburger. I've never heard or seen one of these before. Guess they've been around for a while, but never expanded to Cal. Overall the family had a great experience. One thing that I did notice was that they had excellent customer service. After placing your order, the food is delivered to your table. A friendly worker named Danny checked on us often, cleared our table of trash, and even refilled our drinks. How awesome is that for a fast food joint. The food was on point with the tastiness. I tried the jalapeno and cheese Whataburger, which was good. Kids gobbled up their chicken bites and justaburgers. Wife's burger was so big that she could only eat half of the thing. We got home and opened the food to see they just gave us burgers with cheese, and ketchup. They didn't give any of the toppings that they come with. The plain cold burger with ketchup was absolutely disgusting and a huge waste of money. We ended up throwing out the burgers and not eating many fries since those were hard and soggy too. Spent almost $30 for a meal to go in the trash and still have no dinner after. Save your time and AVOID this location. She stepped up to my occasion and was really friendly and engaging in conversation. In reading Scottsdale area reviews it appears that locals do not feel like the customer service in this town is any good, I beg to differ.
