First time ever going to a Whataburger, and it's our last. Took eighteen minutes to get a chicken combo meal. Had we been the drive through it would have been way less.So obviously they don't treat customers on the store very well. Denny (or Danny, not sure which name is right) was working the register and was the coolest and most fun guy to take my order in recent memory. But Linda the manager still criticized him in front of customers for supposedly, not moving the line quick enough. He was training a nice young new employee, and he was doing a great job with customers and training her all at once. Linda started to work the register and still had her gloves on... then went back to preparing food without taking the blue gloves off! Also noticed that the menu board has combo meals, but nowhere does it list the price of the individual a la carte item if you want the sandwich and not the combo. I was told this is a corporate store, so it sounds like corporate are a bunch of greedy ones who think they don't need to show prices. But guess what... when people ask the prices, it just holds up the line. Silly. Also, notice lots of mistakes being made at this location with people not getting their correct item, including me. Time to figure out how to train the manager.So that it's a better run location. Then, time to add the price of the sandwich below each combo meal. read more

It's been a good 5 yrs since I ate at Whataburger, the last time was in Houston Texas and it sucked. I figure I would give it another try. The service was friendly and the store was very clean. Which was a 180 from my Texas experience I ordered the double original, a patty melt, fries and onion rings. Plus 3 sauces....I thought this was a small container like at McDs since that's what I remembered from my las visit but this dips were huge!! Btw they charge 40 cents each. The burger was average like i remembered it. No way it beats In N Out. I'd give it a 5/10 The patty melt however was yummmy. So glad I got this. The grilled onions were really good. Give it 8/10 The fries were like McDs just soggy and not nearly as good LOL. 3/10 rating Onion rings were good. 8/10 At least I gave Whataburger another chance. Drove thru this morning ordered a burrito and biscuits with gravy. First the bag was basically thrown out the window. Pretty terrible honestly. Off time on a Saturday, drive thru service. Drive through was full to the sign to order but not beyond. 20 minutes later (!) at the window we got our food. Ordered in the drive thru. One car in front of me. I was ordering for 4 so I had the entire order written out which I read in detail to the girl on the speaker. There is no view of what I ordered so I could not confirm that she got the order right. She told me how much it would be and I pulled forward. As I waited behind the car in front of me, I did the math in my head and thought it was off. When I got to the window I asked her to read my order back to me - sure enough she missed the Monterey Meal ($13.00). When I said the order was missing something she said "oh yea, I forgot to add that one". Okay, easy fix. No big deal. So, I paid and waited, and waited. When I got the order I asked her "is this everything?" She assured me that it was. I pulled forward and checked the bag only to find that a chicken wrap was not in the bag. By now there were several cars in the drive thru so I didn't want to pull through again since I knew how long that would take. So, instead, I pulled into a parking space, unbuckled my baby, carried her inside and asked for the Chicken Wrap they had left out of the bag. The girl must have realized the mistake because one was handed over with no questions asked. I returned to the car, buckled the baby back in her car seat and drove home. Once the food was passed out, everyone complained that the fries were cold, the buns were hard the food was basically thrown out without being eaten because it was cold and stale. $35.00 down the drain. Very rude. I had a certificate for a free Whataburger because I am a blood donor. I took it here and asked if I could substitute spicy chicken and pay extra money for the meal. The lady at the counter practically shouted at me, Oh, no!" I told her I had taken a certificate like this to the Whataburger in Tempe and they had allowed me to substitute. She replied that they are doing something wrong. I want to make two points: 1-spicy chicken is not as expensive as Whataburger so she would have actually saved money by allowing me to substitute. 2-there is no reason to be rude. I brought 16 people to try Whataburger for the first time, after I have raved about it for YEARS! This was a disaster and a discredit to what Whataburger is. The food took forever! The staff was extremely lazy except for one, Danny! Danny worked hard to make sure that everyone was having a positive experience, checking on each patron, running meals and taking orders. Not once did another employee leave the back. They would scream at Danny to "help them" not leave the back. They could easily walk it out and they had plenty of staff to do it themselves. Back to the nightmare of our food experience, they lost the receipt for their food, so rather than walk out and find out who ordered it, they just THREW IT AWAY! My in-laws waited 30 minutes before the staff even said anything. He went up multiple times and they just told them it was being made still. So rather than fix the issue, they pushed the responsibility off and avoided fixing the issue. It got to the point where he just asked for a refund and didn't want to even give them a try. I grew up on Whataburger and have some great memories around the iconic orange and white. This location, purely because of the staff, did not live up to the values and does not represent the name of "What-a-Burger" Once again, I just wanted to point out that the ONLY person that worked to make our experience a good one was Danny. He at no point made things worse, but looked to solve conflict and improve our experience. It was hard to watch the other LAZY and UNPROFESSIONAL staff yell at a SPECIAL NEEDS employee to pick up where they fell short. I will report the location to Whataburger and AZ. read more

I was in town during the Easter weekend to run a half marathon and to visit an old friend. I came here a few times to get a quick meal. Coming in from California, it's rather nice to not have to go all the way to Texas in order to get a Whataburger. For both of my visits, I placed my order on their mobile app which was very easy-to-use and convenient especially when you want to customize your order. I normally will get the Whataburger meal with all of the regular toppings and their spicy ketchup for the fries. Occasionally, I'll add a slice of cheese to that burger. Either way, although it's not my favorite fast food burger of all-time, they do have a very solid burger.
