One of the worst places I've ever been to the cook don't wash his hands and it's unsanitary I would never eat there again

Does it get any better than delicious little soft clouds of burgers? We decided to have White Mana for Valentine's Day and I think it just might be our new tradition. We got to the restaurant, found some shifty parking spot and walked on in. We were the first ones there at the time but it got busy very quickly. The people behind the counter were super friendly and got our order completely right. We got 10 burgers, 5 cheese and 5 plain. My boyfriend likes a plain hamburger, what's a girl to do? Lol. I always opt for cheese, two of these little cheeseburgers and I'm the happiest girl on earth. They're perfect, delicious delicate onions and the bun! So good. We also got an order of fries, onion rings and mozzarella sticks - which were shockingly delicious. I wouldn't go too out of the ordinary here. Burgers are the way to go. Review update! After 10 years - I really can't believe it took that long to come back - I finally returned on my way home from the city. Barely before the new 11 PM closing time, so I had to get my order to go, which was fine. They had a deal: 3 cheeseburger sliders, fries, drink for just $10. Which is still a steal in nowadays dollars, so the good value hasn't changed. I was hoping the food didn't either, and sure enough, the cheeseburgers are perfect. Greasy, flavorful, some nice onions mixed in there. Three of them was just enough for a nice late evening meal. The fries were surprisingly plentiful, piping hot, made to order, perfectly done - crispy outside, soft inside. So I will award that 5th star now that I've had the sliders and they are as good as the 1/4 lb burger was before. Until next time! read more

Walking in, the place felt run down but in a good way. Like you know the burger has been perfected in this joint. Juicy burger. Bacon wasn't fake. We came after 10pm so it was takeout only. People complain about how the workers there aren't the most friendly. You are in New Jersey at a restaurant that's been around for almost 100 years and they have to deal with drunk people on a daily basis.... Having been to the other White Manna (Hackensack, NJ) I decided to try the alternative for the comparison. A little more of a trek to get here during lunch time, I still made it and was able to get some of their burgers. Seating in this location is much more ample, there is a few booths in addition to sit down seating. It wasn't very busy so I was able to get my food really quickly and dug in while it was hot. The buns here are not like the potato rolls at the other location, also the patties are not as dense so it honestly reminded me more of a White Castle style slider more than anything. Not a bad burger, but nothing that stood out to me either. Overall the pricing here is very reasonable, I got 3 cheeseburgers, fries, and a drink for $8. It's only right that after reviewing White Manna, I also review this place. The food here is good. They have a good special. I definitely wished I could have tried their burgers without ketchup and pickles, because that was a game changer for me at White Manna, but their food here is just as good. I recommend you try the single, but also the double patty. I think they taste different when sandwiched together in between patties with cheese and grilled onions. But for what I ordered, the deal with ketchup and pickles, which I'm usually not a fan of those two in my burgers, but also didn't know it came with it, it's a 4/5 for me, but the caramelization of the onions and the potato roll that melded well with the smashed patty was unique. Also the price was worth it. Their fries though weren't all that great and I'd pass on them next time. My friend enjoyed this more than White Manna, so I think it's a personal preference. I have come to The White Mana in Jersey City many times, but never gave a review. I have found that these burgers are the best late at night. They are the perfect meal, to satisfy your late night food craving. The burger meat they use is tasty. And they also prepare the sliders fast (meat, cheese, bun). I usually order 3 every time I'm here, but could probably take down more at a time, lol. I usually always get these sliders to go, as it is small inside to eat them inside. You can add bacon or ketchup to them if you want some extra delicious taste. These burgers are WAY better than White Castle. You can see the meat on the sandwich here. Went here for the first time the other day. Delicious little sliders. My friends and I got the deal that included 3 cheeseburgers,fries, and a drink for $8.50. It was quick service, I loved it. In the inside it looks like a typical old looking diner. There is parking space on the side of the diner that generally won't fill up since they are very quick with getting orders out. What I love about the place is how fast and cheap they are. If you are looking for something quick, tasty and on the affordable side. THIS IS IT. I think this is better than most fast food places since there is a natural flavor to the burgers that I really have not gotten anywhere else. When it is possible to sit indoors, you should deff stop by and grab a bite inside. It is a little small but worth the experience. You can also see how the food is done right in front you which for me is always a plus ! Check it out & if you're coming in large groups, maybe sitting inside isn't ideal but you can always eat in the parking lot or close to the Manhattan skyline since you are so close to those areas. After years of years of passing this by, we finally got to try it for the first time. It's been around forever. My father used to pass buy on his way to work for a quick bite. It's pretty much been the same. A working class spot, quick, no frills, fried everything, the Jersey attitude included. Pick and order quickly. The guy memorizes the order. The cook is slow but he looks like he knows what he is doing. Fries and onion rings made in the back. We ordered 2 cheese burgers, large fries, onion rings and a soda. All were as expected and just ok. During peak order times gets long so there are going to be plenty of sour faced Jersey people. I went to a New Jersey institution today when I walked through the doors of White Mana...the 'Real' White Mana according to my co-worker who grew up in JC. He won't step foot in the door of the White Manna in Hackensack...it would be sacrilege he says. Having lived in NJ for most of my life and having worked in Newark for the past seven years I can't believe this was my first time at White Mana, but after eating there I know it won't be my last. I'm not going to kill you with the history of the two burger franchises-there are over 75 reviews and it's all covered there (seriously, some great reviews), but as for our meal... I don't know if I was quite expecting this place to be as small and right out of 1958 as it seems to be, but I love when places have an old-school feel to them. The place looks a little dingy. But it's from age not from being unclean...in fact the tables and counter were very clean. Love all the old pictures on the walls-lots of famous people have walked through the door of White Mana. Walked in the door and we're greeted with a hearty hello by the cook and another worker. We order up four specials (there were three of us) - the special is three sliders with fries and a medium drink and we substituted in an onion rings. So that's 12 burgers, 3 fries, 1 onion rings and sodas. HAMMERED them...they didn't stand a chance. The sliders are a bit larger that White Castles, but with a great flavor from the beef, the onions and the pickles. I was really shocked at how good these little bundles of joy tasted. On the way out the door I ordered two sliders for a co-worker and a chocolate shake to go...the shake was also awesome, by the way. Got back to the office and it was like I was a drug dealer with these sliders. Here you go, they're on me. Just a taste, next time come see me and we'll talk about the cost. He was hooked too. As a side note, the record here is 18 sliders...I don't think I could do more than 10 on my best day even after a long night out. But back in those days I probably would have been willing to give it a shot. read more

This is my first time eating at this White Mana even though I have been driving past it for decades however today I decided to stop in. I have been to the one in Hackensack which was pretty good and their rolls are definitely better. I think they mix the onions in the meat better than the one in Hackensack but the rolls are not cutting it and they should be warmer. The one in Hackensack has good potato rolls, these are just cheap. The seating capacity is better at this one than the one in Hackensack which has very limited seating space. The men's room needs some work and look very dingy in there the warm water didn't work and the hand dryer didn't work. I don't know if I'll be back again most like I probably will but there's really nothing special about it. read more
