Good cheese as well. The tomato relish was an interesting twist on the normal. The spicy mayo went well with the fries. Came here for weekend brunch and was pretty excited to try this place. Overall, this place is just ok. I was honestly more impressed with the decor/ambiance than the food. The decor is cute, cozy and clean. Reminded me of other rustic farm to table restaurants in NYC. They also offer outdoor seating like most places in Ridgewood--perfect for enjoying your mimosa on a warm, sunny day! Upon seating, WMC offers complimentary still or sparkling water and a bowl of seasoned popcorn (tasted like there was a hint of cinnamon). The concept of the menu seemed really great, but the food here is just ok. We ordered the White Maple Veggie Breakfast Bowl, Jersey Madame, A custom Frittata and the Roasted Veggie Tartine. Ingredients of the food were fresh, though the execution of the dishes could use some improvement. The toast of the veggie tartine and jersey madame were nuked--completely burnt on the bottom side. The egg of the frittata was also overcooked. Service here was mediocre throughout. We had to get their attention a couple of times. I also noticed that most of the wait staff were idly chatting with themselves. We went here for father's day brunch. They called us as we were arriving for our reservation 2 min early to confirm the reservation and then had us wait 10 min for our table. Service was really slow, which I would understand if it was busy, but there were just a few other tables being served. It took us at least 30 min to receive our drinks and another at least 30 min to receive our food. Horchata drink was really good but otherwise nothing great to say about the food and drink. We came in on Sunday for brunch at around 10:45 AM. Place was not packed yet which was great! We ordered granola yogurt and 2 juevos rancheros. The service was awesome and the food was great! We especially liked that they had gluten free options and the complimentary cinnamon popcorn! The only thing is that my husband's coffee wasn't refilled until he asked and they didn't come around until the check was served pretty much. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the ricotta cheese board. Kids had pancakes. Didn't bother getting coffee although needed it based on the food didn't think my first coffee of the day was going to be a good one from there. came here spontaneously with my friends as our other brunch spot was booked for the day. i called ahead and they said that they would be able to seat us right away. it was a saturday afternoon. there is ample amount of street parking available. the decor inside was very cute but the area is definitely a bit cramped (looks like a cafe that they turned into a restaurant almost). the server was good, took our orders and refilled our waters. they gave free popcorn instead of bread - quirky haha. the matcha was too watered down for my taste - not worth the $. the french toast was pretty good but not anything amazing. pretty small in quantity that left me okay but not full. for the price i guess it's average, but i don't particularly see myself coming back here. cute neighborhood though, so i guess if you're in the area, this isn't a bad brunch spot to come too! read more

It's a beautiful café. There's a nice balance between an antique and contemporary look. Brick walls with green vines and small tables with stainless steel bowls of popcorn. (Server didn't know what the story behind complimentary popcorn entailed)?The coffee is amazing! So good i asked where i can buy some to go (american Bulldog brand). The food is tasty and affordable. I really enjoyed the scones with strawberry preserves. The service needs some improvement. We were given a seat right away, But it could've been a good 15 minutes before somebody approached us for our order. I've wanted to check out White Maple for a while just because every time I walk past it I think to myself "damn that place is so cute." So I was really looking forward to coming here for brunch, and it definitely met my expectations. My friend and I sat outside since the weather was perfect that day, but the inside of the restaurant is also super nice. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to order the veggie breakfast bowl, the roasted veggie tartine, or the huevos rancheros -- so I asked the waitress for her opinion and she told me she didn't like the breakfast bowl but the huevos rancheros was one of her favorites, so I got that. It was a great choice! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the beans, salsa, and cheese tasted great together. A lot of the meals come with roasted vegetable hash and I wasn't sure what that was at first -- but it's just a combination of potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, and string beans. It's yummy, but a little under-seasoned, so I'd ask for some sauce next time to spice it up. I didn't realize White Maple was BYOB until afterwards, so even though they don't sell brunch cocktails you have the option to bring champagne and make your own. Came here a couple months ago (July 2020) when Ridgewood had the main street closed off so restaurants could use the space for outdoor dining. It was my mistake coming on one of the hottest days of the month, but the outdoor dining had umbrellas so the sun was not a huge problem. I came for brunch on the weekend and ordered the chicken salad sandwich ($15) which came with fries. The fries were really good and I am not sure what sauce they gave on the side (it was orange, may have been the spicy mayo) but that was also very good. The sandwich was okay, the chicken kind of tasted like tuna, but if you like tuna, then you'll probably like it more than I did. The portion was adequate and I felt pretty full afterwards. This was one of the most disappointing dinners I have ever had. There was no one in the restaurant at 6:30 PM on a Thursday when my son and I walked in, which should have been a warning to walk out immediately. We were seated, at my request, at the banquette In the back; unfortunately, our table was a gathering spot for the most fruit flies I have ever seen in one spot. We shared the deviled egg appetizer while swatting away the many insects who wanted a taste. The hostess moved us to another table in the center of the restaurant where, supposedly, the infestation was not as bad; however, the lighting was better -- it provided a clearer view of the army of flies that were relentless in their attack. We had enough! Although our dinner entrees, a half chicken with rice and vegetables, had not yet been brought out, we asked the hapless waitress for takeout boxes because we couldn't sit there for another minute. The hostess didn't have the courtesy of offering desserts on the house, or comping us for our appetizer. At home, the nightmare continued with a glop of tasteless rice, a skimpy portion of vegetables, and -- instead of the half chicken that was promised on the menu -- two chicken thighs that were almost the size of the biggest fruit fly we had seen at White Maple. It was obvious this was not the place we used to love, and in which we looked forward to eating. It was also appalling that the Ridgewood Health Department would allow this establishment to remain open without remedying their fruit fly infestation. Never again! Probably the cutest and trendy brunch place in Bergen County and conveniently located in Ridgewood where there a lot of shops and food places which makes for a nice post-meal stroll. I would definitely recommend making a reservation on the weekends (edit-- no weekend brunch reservations, only dinner and weekday lunch) because Ridgewood is a pretty popular brunch/lunch place on the weekends with Raymond's and Country Pancake House nearby and the place is not that big. The design and interior is really what drew me initially but food is pretty good too. I haven't had any meals that really stood out to me yet. I was unimpressed with the brioche French toast-- I would not order that again, just tasted too bland. I've had the Huevos Rancheros and the Jersey madame which were both good and I really like the cinnamon sprinkled popcorn they leave on the table. I had a good experience here. Visited on a Saturday morning for brunch and it was not too packed. It was a nice day, so got a table outside. The place is beautiful. Love the marble tables and the tiled floors inside. Food-wise, you get a small bowl of cinnamon popcorn (tastes great) to start with, which was a really nice touch. I ordered the Dutch Baby Pancake, and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely would order again. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict, which she enjoyed as well. I guess pricing-wise, this place can be more expensive than others in NJ, but I am an avid NYC brunch-eater so it seemed pretty typical to me, if not cheaper than normal. My husband and I visited this cafe on a beautiful Saturday afternoon after finding it here on Yelp. First, we were kind of surprised about the "afternoon menu" which is very basic and doesn't have a lot of the delicious items I thought we could get! But anyway, my husband ordered the tuna tartare, which he thought was pretty good but the chips it came with were way too greasy. I ordered the burger with a side of house salad. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the waiter was very nice and understanding. I can honestly say this has been my most favorite out-to-eat/food experience of all of 2016. My fiance and I went to Ridgewood and on a whim said, "let's grab brunch!" We've been meaning to check out White Maple and I'm so immensely happy we park where we did, right in front of this magical place. It is so incredibly charming. The intricate details of the decor fit into one refreshing theme seamlessly. A very calming, natural, almost like it's all supposed to be exactly how it is, providing one lovely sensation for it's customers. Each piece acting with such belonging into the next (when did I get so poetic!?). I'm such a huge huge fan of the way this place looks, feels and is presented (can you tell?!). Everything is so charming, down to the gorgeous natural glass vessel our second round of coffee was poured out of, to the little shallow dish the salt was presented in. So absolutely breath taking, simple, natural, and charming (have I said this word enough?!). Now aside from the whimsically earthy decor and atmosphere, the food plays within the same theme. Pure in it's ingredients, incredibly fresh and absolutely beautifully presented. Not the type of beauty that comes with a 'flower on the side', but the ruggedly simple "vegetable hash" was an array of largely chopped winter/fall seasoned vegetables with a stem of fresh rosemary. Looks like it was skillet cooked beautifully to retain flavor with an incredibly executed soft internal texture and temperature. This is me just talking and describing the SIDE to my dish! Everything was so unbelievable so I think I'll stop there and you get this jist. I never positively rage this much about a place I've only tried once, but it's truly taken my heart with their refreshing new twist of "up-scale casual" (The name given by the newspaper article titled in the front window about this new Ridgewood gem). Sounds too good to be true? Honestly, you have my word. Try them out and I'd love to hear what you have to say about it all. I cannot wait to try them for dinner. Plus, they're also BYOB but have wine options to purchase in house from Ventimiglia vineyards (which I'm also a big fan of). What an incredible precious spot in a gorgeous neighborhood. We made an inside reservation for a midweek breakfast, and it was a great experience. I was concerned about the COVID protocols, but everything was totally fine. There was a small crowd, so we had ample space for distancing. The food was delicious, with fresh, quality ingredients that were cooked with care (the Vermont Benny was really good...).
