Being an Armenian I have tried almost every kabob place in Glendale. This one actually stood out .. You should really try them if you haven't. The man and woman working were extremely sweet. I eat my kabob a little different then most .. I hate bread and I hate rice... So I don't have much to cover up the taste of dry meat or meat not seasoned well. But they're meat was extremely good and didn't require anything else to make it taste good. It's tender... None of them were burnt ... Thank god cuz I hate that. Seasoned extremely well ... I usually never write reviews but i felt like why not kabob deserved one. I had forgotten to place a big order for a scheduled day and time and did it last minute the night before, hoping they would accept it in the morning. I called as soon as they opened to double check and the owner was extremely caring and understanding of my situation. Even though they had already committed to a very large catering order for that morning, they decided to take my order on as well. The owner assured me that they would do the best they could to get my order ready for me dispute their hectic schedule and they did not disappoint. The dedication these individuals have for their work amazes me because they truly care about their customers wants and needs. First time that I've been to this place and wanted something healthy. I asked for a Greek salad with a bit of a customized requests, which they obliged. Every ingredient was fresh from the iceberg lettuce to the onions covered in parsley. The chicken kabob was amazing! Had them put it on top of the salad. Great first experience. read more

Great food and great people. We ordered two of the three kabob plates #10. It was perfect for three people and the yogurt with cucumber was excellent. It was thick and not runny and tasted great. This was my previous review about this place: The food at this place is delicious. I'm very particular about my meat, and they always get it right here. I've never gotten a cut that was too fatty or not enough in terms of portions. The service here is also very friendly, and the place is clean. That's another thing I like. There's never any sloppy napkins or dirty plates left over on the tables like some other places. I found Why Not Kabob through Grubhub. I had the worst experience with Grubhub and after a gift card mistake that happened between me and their company they called me to tell me to work it out with the restaurant myself. The manager of Why Not Kabob called me to tell me that my meal should not be interrupted and that he would handle it directly with Grubhub. He was extraordinarily generous and kind on the phone even though I was in a bad mood about the payment confusion and probably a bit more crabby with him than I should have been. In the meantime the food was fresh, hot, and delicious! I will exclusively order all my kabobs from them even though they are not the closest to me, but in the future I will use Uber Eats. I am grateful to Grubhub to find a restaurant that cares about their customers. read more

The new owners of Chicken Al-Wazir have created a nice atmosphere for sure! They mentioned they care going to continue updating the outside which I think will add to the restaurant's appeal. They offer great, personalized, friendly service. It is clear that the food items are made with love and are home made. We had a big variety of dishes this past Monday and we liked everything (from luleh to kebab to schnitzel; salads, a fermented cabbage dish called something like torshish? and hummus) The meats were all pretty solid. A couple of us would like there to be a chicken breast option for kebab which is offered at many of the competitors. Two of us were ok with the chicken kebab but not overwhelmed. The beef luleh was really good as was the schnitzel sandwich. The salad that comes with the meal was really good. I could have eaten one three times bigger it was so good. The cabbage/pickle salad/torshish (however it is spelled) was really good! Salty and pickled! I will definitely come back and tell others about the place as well. read more

There are about a dozen Mediterranean restaurants along Glendale Blvd itself and, we have tried at least 5 of them. This is the 5th time we have gone to Why not Kebab & it has become our favorite for a number of good reasons. 1. The food is freshly made. We have had the opportunity to spy on them prepare, cook our food while we were seated at our table and watching the baseball game on the two big TV screens. We have noticed that food was prepared in small batches (good knowing we were not being served re-heated food) and also noticed that everyone sanitized their hands, put on disposable gloves prior to doing any food prep work. Wow. Kudos to the staff for health safety. 2. This is a small family run business and the service is very personalized. Emil (I think that was his name) was very courteous, friendly and accommodating to our requests. We ordered a chicken Kebab plate for dine-in and ordered 2 chicken, 2 beef kebabs a la carte to go. While our to-go & dine-in food was cooked simultaneously per our request, Emil kept our to-go warm by setting it under the food warmer while we ate our dinner. Our to-go food was nicely presented in a aluminium serve tray for our convenience. 3. The food portions were substantial, very well plated and aromatic from the smell of saffron. Both the chicken & beef were unbelievably tender and tasty. The basmati rice, salad, onions, grilled sweet pepper together with chicken & beef struck a perfect balance of flavors. 4. Though the place is small, it's immaculately clean and even the cute bathroom with its tiny Ikea sink is well stocked with soap, paper towels, toilet paper, seat cover & freshener. We do understand that taste, food flavor is subjective but, the quality, portions of the food, the cleanliness, the small attention to detail is what makes this family owned/run restaurant keeps us coming back. read more
