After a long day of travel, hubby and I were looking for something easy and delicious for dinner. This fit the bill. We both got platters, he had the brisket and I had the pulled chicken. I agree that there could be more BBQ sauce, but a simple ask and they'll bring you the bottle. The cornbread was amazing. Hubby had the baked beans, they were also delicious and the portions were extremely generous. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but our waitress was attentive without being overly so. Stopped in for some bbq. We were seated and got some waters to start. I went with the stud mountain ale which was local to Vermont, I thought it was pretty good. My meal came with a caesar salad and a side so I picked Mac n cheese. I got the maple pulled chicken, it also came with some cornbread. Everything was really good for some Vermont bbq. From out of town, here for the weekend for work. We have driven by this place a million times and decided to stop in today. Our intentions were to walk in and order take out straight away, but the place and staff were so inviting that we decided to sit at the bar and order a beer while we contemplated our take out order. We ended up loving the menu and ordered the house made jalapeño poppers to snack on while continued to peruse the menu. Perfection; highly recommend. Does not disappoint. Trust me. This place is the shizzzzzz! I've eaten here several times since becoming employed in The Upper Valley. Having become a Bear's BBQ aficionado, I am picky. This place delivers. I've had several meals, both eat in and take out, from Wicked Awesome. Each of them has been, well, wicked awesome. I'm a pulled pork guy and this dish is always fresh, juicy and seasoned just nice. When my hot traveling companion is with me, she's able to get dinner here as all sauces are GF. Service is very, very nice as everyone in the place is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. This restaurant is a local joint...owned by local peeps. Support your local businesses as that's the lifeblood of the Upper Valley economy. Chain joints don't keep the cash you spend in the area. While they're good for what they provide, you want to go to places like this. Stop by, grab a chair and try something. You'll enjoy it. I've been wanting to go to this place for a while and finally went today. In my opinion it should be called Wicked Bad BBQ. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket were tasteless. The nachos were ok, the mac & cheese were ok, the cole slaw was wilted and the ribs were just ok. Also, they forgot to give us our corn bread and fries. I understand that restaurants are taking a hit because of covid but at the same time you gotta give customers a reason to come spend money. In my opinion if you want BBQ around this area you are better off going to Big Fatties BBQ down the street. read more

This is probably an good BBQ place in this area. We are from Texas so we have a different perspective. The brisket was tasty once I worked around the brown gravy. Cute venue! The beer was good. I guess New England style just doesn't do it for us. Poutain is new to us. Limited parking. The menu had other options but we went with the special suggested by the cashier. The staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy. We got 3 different meals two with the signature pulled pork. It wasn't seasoned very well and just a bit lacking. The French fries were pre made frozen style. Pretty disappointing. They do have a nice outdoor space. They sell lunch food for dinner prices. Service was fine, a very pretty young lady waited on me, maybe that's why I didn't notice I was being ripped off. The brisket sandwich was pretty meh. Chunks of rather dry brisket, not slices, and a little sauce on a store bought roll. Beans were ok but not much flavor. Somehow my $12 sandwich (very over priced) plus a single fountain drink came to $18!! I wasn't given an itemized receipt so I don't know why so much. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your bbq. The bbq was good but not amazing. Some of the meats were dry and needed lots of sauce, but the sauces were super good. If you're choosing a meat, opt for the root beer basted pork as it's smoked for 12+ hours! If you're feeling adventurous and can't choose between a burger and pulled pork, get the farm burger with both! I decided to go with a combo to try this place out, and got the Ribs/Brisket with a side of fries. It did come with a salad and corn bread, but I subbed the cornbread for cole slaw. Everything was so dry... the ribs and brisket both were super dry, and they didn't provide enough sauce to make up for it. I'm not sure if they forgot to add mayo to the slaw, but it was like eating a bowl of raw cabbage: dry and no flavor. The fries were cold and soggy by the time I got it home, but that was likely just because it's COVID times and I did takeout and it took a while to get it back to eat it, I'm sure they are fine fresh. They do give you a lot of fries, they filled a large takeout container, but only four small packets of ketchup were included. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but for the price, they have some improvements to make, especially since they've been in that location for a while. I'd recommend going to Big Fatty's in town, their combo is cheaper and far better BBQ hands down. I'd be really upset had I not used a gift certificate to cover part of the cost. We were headed to McDonalds and decided to have something different. What a treat! Quaint smartly theme decorated and very clean. I ordered the brisket and mashed potatoes. Also ordered a glass of wine. I am a mashed potatoes queen and could have sat there all day eating just that! They were so creamy tasting and good. The brisket was so tender it fell apart with the touch of the fork. The cute and final touch a fresh cornbread served in a mini cast iron pan with a large dollop of butter. The service was awesome. Got take out tonight for dinner and was pretty impressed with the quality of food. We ordered a dozen wings: half reaper and half buffalo. The wings had nice quality meat that fell off the bone and I definitely preferred the buffalo sauce over the reaper. Neither one was spicy. The wings didn't come with the usual celery and carrot sticks. I ordered the pulled pork with mac and cheese, side salad, and corn bread. The cornbread was awful and had no taste whatsoever. The mac and cheese was plain and I mostly mixed it with my pulled pork. The pork was flavorful and smoky, and I absolutely loved the BBQ sauce. Truly fantastic. I would definitely come back just for the pulled pork sandwich since I loved the pulled pork so much. We also got the skillet cookie to go, even though they usually don't do it. Winner for us! We first tried Wicked at a food truck event, but enjoyed it so much more in a cozy little restaurant in a cool red house. The service was efficient and friendly. I had planned to have lunch at my "go-to" rib joint in White River Jct, VT. It didn't open for another 45 minutes so I decided to give Wicked Awesome a try. I was greeted by a very friendly young man. He took my order but as he walked by me, he wreaked of BO! I mean, days without a shower BO! The last thing you want at a restaurant is to smell perfume or BO. He got my order wrong and forgot my water. As for the food, the pulled pork meat was very good. The sauce, not so much. I like a vinegar based sauce but not theirs. The BBQ beans were just canned large red kidney beans in a house sauce. Not a fan. I had ordered the platter which was to come with 1 side, a salad and cornbread. I got the beans but not the salad or cornbread. He had put in the wrong order.
