We are locals and have been going to this restaurant once a week at least. We also bring large groups for business. We have been bringing our little 5 pound dog there for 5 years when weather allows us to sit outside with her. The servers know us, and our dog by name. Tonight when I tried to make a reservation for the outside patio I was told very rudely by the manager that dogs are not allowed. I asked if this was a new policy because we have always brought our dog. She said no and argued with me that the we could have never brought our dog! Like I would make that up! This is the best restaurant in which I-have ever eaten. our waiter Will was so helpful and informative. He told us how dishes were prepared and what flavor palettes would be tickled. Every course was imaginative and different. We tried dishes we never had before and they were sensational like arugula and roasted beets salad. We have always had a good experience here so we went there some out of town friends on Wednesday night. What a huge disappointment and embarrassment it was. . We sat at the outdoor patio and the service was terrible. It took 15 minutes for a waiter to come over and then 20 minutes after that for him to come take our orders. My husband ordered the Lion Fish which was fried to the point of almost burned. They covered the burned fish with a huge portion of overpowering sauce. I ordered Grouper which I've had there before and it didn't taste anything like grouper, it didn't even look like the grouper my friend ordered. I also ordered a sushi roll which was good, although there were no chopsticks or utensils on the table. When we finally did get the chopsticks, the waiter tossed them at me from across the table. There was no way to find our waiter and complain or question him. When he finally did stop by we told him 3 sides were missing. He came back with only one. We reminded him there were two more ordered. Again, he come back with only one. The third time he came back, our meal was just about finished. What I really resented was that the gratuity was already added in because we were a group of six. I would not have left the waiter a dime because of the poor service. From now on I'll be taking my guests to a new place, there is certainly lots of competition in that area. read more

This was my 2nd time trying this place with the same results: Worst service in Murrells inlet. Went Saturday during Taste of the Marshwalk which I understand it's busy but sat at bar where there were at least 4 bartenders working. Sat there at least 5 minutes as 3 of the 4 bartenders walked by us without any acknowledgment even when I tried to get their attention. Too many other places there with much better service. Strictly a tourist trap. I am a local & will not return here. read more

The Wicked Tuna served us delicious food with great service. The views are gorgeous! We had the fried calamari, squid salad and tuna pizza for appetizers. Fried calamari was crispy and light, although on the salty side. The squid salad was simply perfect, with crunchy mushrooms and smoky squid. The tuna pizza was also very good. It took a while for the entrees to come, but the fried oysters were well worth the wait: plump with a light crusty batter. The meal was simply delicious. read more

Very bad first impression! We made a reservation for our first visit hoping to get a good table. When we arrived the hostess could not find our reservation and told us it would be a few minutes. Three groups of people came in after us without reservations and they were immediately seated so we asked and the hostess stated our table was almost ready. We were escorted to our table several minutes later. Our table was in the corner without an easy escape. We asked if we could move and sit outside and the hostess said no, reservations only. Ha..Ha..Since we had reservations! It took our waitress 10 minutes to get to our table and another 15 minutes for 2 glasses of wine. We were so frustrated we decided to order an appetizer, drink our wine and leave. The appetizer was tasty, but not worth the hassle. We are locals and this restaurant certainly appears to be a tourist trap! read more

Food was pretty good.. But had No presentation! Came out warm not hot. Ordered the tilapia and it came out on a huge plate with nothing on the plate but the fish and Mac in cheese in a bowl on the side. No garnishments or decorations which you would expect at $20+ a plate. Service was rushed and unorganized, tables all around us had issues with wrong food, wrong bills, no service. Food was good not over seasoned and cooked to order but came out room temp and then yanked off the table just as quick. If someone pays $20+ the presentation and quality of service should be much better. Won't go back or recommend this place for anything but a drink and live music. read more

My wife and I spent the afternoon on the Murrells Inlet marsh walk. We had tried a couple of the other offerings and a few years ago I wished I had the money to open the location Wicked Tuna now occupies, it was vacant then. So, we decided to try it for lunch. The atmosphere, for lunch, was pleasant. We sat on the deck overlooking the marsh and a nice constant breeze was very comfortable. The inside decor was a bit art deco, but it is a restaurant... I am there for the food. First of all, there is no lunch menu, so everything is dinner expensive. We ordered anyway. We started with calamari, as an appetizer. The breader was very salty and the squid was a 50-50 chance that it was either tender or a rubber band. Passable, but not what you expect for the price. The "South Carolina" dipping sauce was pink mayo with some spices in it, tasted like it was straight out of the mayo jar.... not my favorite flavor. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for my meal. It is stupid expensive, for a burger, but I let it go (the real estate is stupid expensive and they have to pay the mortgage). I could not eat the sandwich. I figure the recipe is something like this: SALT, add a little meat, some more SALT, add a bit of salty bacon, add more SALT, add some salty cheddar cheese, add more SALT, add some SALT for flavor and season with some SALT. Yea, I am being a bit facetious, but this was easily the saltiest thing I have ever ordered at a restaurant. The calamari had already parched my tongue, with its saltiness, but the burger was just inedible. I informed the waiter and the manager had him take it off the bill, and I am glad of that. The manager never personally addressed the problem, I personally call that a fail. Even though the item was removed I felt I was not worth a few moments of the manager's time to take care of the matter personally. Unless the wife really liked her shrimp po-boy, and I don't think she did, and insists we go back I will probably walk on down the marsh walk next time. On a high note, my wife had a pomegranate mixed drink that was flavorful. It cost $7, which is on par for the marsh walk bars for a mixed drink. read more

This is a great place for some really good dining and a great view of Murrells Inlet. We had the Shrimp and Grits and the nightly special Seared Rockkfish over Lobster Risoto. Both dishes were fantastic. They have a really good menu with a wide variety of food. A must next time you are in the area. read more

Nice atmosphere on the deck, covered eating. Service was friendly and offered us a few things to do, we were on vacation. Warm bread and delicious flavored butter to start. Had chips and fresh guacamole, it was good. Had the shrimp and grits for my entree, great tasting decent sized serving, not big. Beers are fairly priced. Mixed drinks are heavily priced. $10 plus is a bit rough in my opinion. read more

As visitors to Myrtle Beach, this was our first time at Wicked Tuna. Every single restaurant was packed, so it was anticipated that we would have to wait, which was fine. The hostess told us 15 to 20 minutes for a party of 5. When our name was called 20 minutes later, they asked if we wanted a table outside or near the window. In the time it took us to discuss this (less than 30 seconds), they had given our table away. After much apologizing, they said another 5 minutes and we'd have a table. Okay, we agreed, we could do that. 5 minutes go by, 10 minutes go by, no table. When we approached the hostess, she apologized some more and said another 10 to 15 minutes. An initial wait time of 15 to 20 minutes had blossomed into 35 to 40. When we were finally seated, we ordered drinks. The waters and ice teas came out immediately, but the drinks from the bar took several reminders and 30 minutes. The food was good, yet expensive. Not worth the time spent waiting for a table, then waiting for drinks, then waiting for food. Overall, an alright experience, but nothing to write home about. read more

The food here is superb. We got various rolls of sushi, flounder, tacos, and crab cakes. All were very tasty, and the sushi rolls had many pieces and were quite filling! The decor and atmosphere was also very cool; the outdoor seating is nice and the bar area inside is pretty cool with lots of neat lighting. Our server was a little flighty and forgetful and the high-quality food comes at a bit of a price, but overall it is a great place to eat. read more

We enjoyed a very nice lunch last Friday. Start with the she crab soup. It is very rich and de-li-cious! Also, the rock shrimp is an appetizer you don't want to miss. Enough for 2-3 to share. Our Family Stopped for dinner while on vacation in the area. We heard so many good things about it so we had to try for our selves. The experience was beyond our expectations. Great inlet view bar. Staff was very pleasant. On a slow beginning to happy hour, we saw several orders served to patrons that arrived after we ordered. After approximately 25 minutes we received the worst $17 sushi roll and ate 2 pieces. Not fresh from sitting to long, no flavor, and definitely no WOW factor! My first experience last summer was fantastic. Service was great and dinner was excellent. This year a totally different story. Service was pitiful, I got the impression I was bothering the staff just by being there. They seemed to be "out of" several items we ordered. As a group of four during dinner time, I expected somewhat of a wait, 45 minutes was fine. It was not worth the wait, however. The food was average but the prices were not comparable. $135 for a group of four without dessert or appetizer. I ordered fish tacos and they were ok, I've had better at The 99. Loved this restaurant when we went last summer. Food was great, we sat on the balcony outside with amazing views of the inlet. Did not feel touristy and was actually recommended by locals to us. Waitress was great too. The environment is also relaxed when sitting outside. We went at a certain time where it wasn't too busy and there's a lot of privacy on the balcony. I would say not lunch rush but before dinner. I would go back when we're in Myrtle in a few weeks from now. read more

Just ate there this evening. Although food was good, service was poor. We ordered an appetizer and our entrées. We waited and waited and then our appetizer and entrées came at the same time. Couldn't eat appetizer in a relaxing way since we had to eat our entrées that were hot. This is the SECOND time this has happened. Waiter apologized but made NO effort to correct things (complimentary beverage/dessert/ask manager to come and talk to us). SAD, SAD, SAD. I've lived in Murrells Inlet for 24 years. If I could recommend any fine dining restaurant on the Marshwalk, Wicked Tuna is the place to go. My girlfriend and I had such a great experience here! The atmosphere is just what this area is all about. Our bartender, Jake McGuiness, was phenomenal. The best Bourbon and Ginger I've had in a while. The first time we dined at Wicked Tuna 3 years ago we had a fabulous time and great food. What has happened to this place since then? We dined there this evening. I had one bottled beer (semi cold-why order another?). We had a party of 8. Appetizers were good. Lettuce wraps, fried pickles, spicy tuna sushi. When the entrees came out 2 of our party had ordered sushi (which was fabulous). The other entrees took 45 minutes to come out (the first two were finished with their meals). Blackened grouper was overcooked and underflavored (served over cheese grits that were excellent). Sides of mashed potatoes were cold. Steaks were good. Kids pizza and chicken tenders were good. We overheard employees talking about each other. We will cross this one off our favorites list. read more
